@Hime
Thanks, and that does make sense.
But then again, the stable he is stabled on, the owners there broke him in and everything. And they where the ones who told me he can't tolt. Oh well, you never really know with icelandics!
And I don't think it was a super speedy trot, because he has done that before, and it becomes so bouncy you can barely stay in the saddle xD Besides, the way he moved his frontlegs (from what I could see from above) was smooth, but half-short.
He might have mixed the gaits a bit (quite common for icelandics really, especially the ones at the stable), which is uncommon for him, oh well, I guess I'll never know what it was he was doing there. But it was fun as long as it lasted!
( Besides, I got to take a full gallop on him with no reins and my hands out to the side while I sat up. Amazing feeling, and never had so much trust in him <3)

@Dressage
Congrats!!
When I went to my first show in England, I placed 2nd in Equation (my horse was 17 years, so the trot was a bit too slow for the judge, but she understood ), so well done!! ^^

@Mr. Milo you're lucky you haven't seen or delt with them much! They're an absolute NIGHTMARE. And if you swat them with your hand or sleeve you get gross guts and blood all over you >.< so it's not really worth it :P

    So... I may be getting a horse!
    I found a 7yo 15.3hh OTTB mare for $500. She is a dressage prospect (she's a beautiful mover and gets into frame well), but her owner has no time to work with her, so they're selling her cheap for a quick sale. I'm in contact with her owners and as soon as I find out if she bucks/rears/spooks, I'm setting up a day to see her and try her. My trainer is going to come with me and she's going to ride her first and tell me anything I need to know about her. It'll be great to have two horses to ride! I'll continue riding Thinker regularly and he'll still be my show horse. This mare will be a great project! Plus it'll be nice to have another dressage horse to ride when/if Thinker pulls more shoes.
    I'll let you guys know when I hear from her owners again and if I go try her :)

Oh. My. God.

My father just showed me a picture of the horse he bought for me for my birthday! He's a black eight-year-old American Quarter Horse gelding. He's not trained in anything special, but his previous owners claim that he's an excellent trail horse, and that's all I care about. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I cannot wait until we go to pick him up! Eleven more days... I've been without a horse for four months, and I can't wait to get back in the saddle.
Guess who's back! I left in early 2015, and have now decided to return to CS.

Boarding/farrier costs: The board at my around is around $125-$150 So pretty cheap compared to most barns. Then the farrier is around $45-50 for a trim and shoes are $100+ ($100 is for two front hooves)

Monchele: That is great! Can't wait to hear how things turn out :)

~
I have some news too-I stopped leasing Robert.

His leg was swollen again after our ride on Saturday and he is still loosening weight. It was really hard to tell S, but I got through it. I will finish out my barn work for this week, but then that will be the end unless she need help with turning out or horse sitting ASAP.

I did find a new lease horse though! His name is Ace and he is a 6 or 7 year old, 15.3h paint (but he only has two spots). His body is black with a white blaze, 4 white socks and a couple spots about his nose and on his legs. He is really sweet and amazing at dressage, and is doing small oxers. He is perfect for me, but I was hoping to be with my big boy longer. Ace's owner is pregnant and wants someone to keep him in shape and and work him. I met her yesterday and she let my ride him a bit just to see if she is a good fit. Ace was described as having ADHD so I will have to think of ways to keep his mind going. K (his owner) Would like to be a long term thing and if I really click with to pick up more days once the school year gets going. One thing I am really excited about is being about to take him out on trails and learn a lot without having to worry about the littlest stumble putting him out of work for a week. So in the end, this is a good thing, and I knew in my heart is was time to let Bob go.

I also might be getting a job down at my barn as a stable hand/groom to this lady in the stable down the isle from Bob <3

I am meeting K tomorrow to figure out everything and talk about what she will want me to do/where her stuff is in the loft. I will get pictures of Ace as soon as I can <3

@boarding:
The board at my barn starts at $545 a month and goes up to $595 a month, depending on what kind of stall you want. it's all full care. That's pretty reasonable for my area, with most barns being around $700 monthly plus an activity fee. We have several places here where board is $1000 monthly o.O
