@Monchele:
tell us how it goes! I'm kind of in your reverse situation - My heart lies with the Hunter/Jumpers, but I would love to try some dressage - just occasionally, but I would love to try it at least one time. Don't be nervous, I'm sure you'll love it
@Hime:
Ah ok, thanks for the explanation! I don't know much about icelandics, we have none around here. D: I would love to ride one someday. When I was about 9, I was actually obsessed with the breed after I saw a documentary about "pony trekking" in Iceland. They just seemed like such cool little horses and I wanted to fly right to iceland to ride one!
On oh my god that colt is gorgeous. o.o GORGEOUS. Keep me updated with pictures of that guyyy <33
@Mocha:
it sounds like swimming with the horses was lots of fun, especially for Poco!
@blue:
I'm sorry that Rob is lame, I hope that he feels back to normal soon. C: And I'll try to type out an update on myself asap, I'm just pressed for time xD
@lissaJo:
What a gorgeous horse <3

Sooo I've been pretty busy lately at the barn. Willard has been an ANGEL, but I'm really getting to the point where I need to start riding some other horses D: I mean, i can still learn from her, but I'll progress faster with a horse that challenges me more. I'm going to finish my lease for this month on her, take a break from leasing in August (I'm going on vacation for a few weeks and then school starts), and then starting back up in September on a new horse (tbd xD). But I'll still hack her around sometimes, because I adore my perfect mama <3
I don't know if I told y'all, but Willow and I had our first Hunter Derby in June, and we did really well for our first time out! We came back with FIFTH place out of 20 other, much nicer horses, so i was so proud of my Willow. Our classic round had a score of 73 whichc was one of the top scores going into the handy round. The handy round went great, but I cantered a trot jump which was kind of intentional because Willow has a stopping problem and an accidental canter would take away less points than a refusal. So our score wasn't as great for that round, but we still got 5th so I was pleased. We got a pink neck ribbon. <3
And then early this month we trailered up to a 4 day Greg Best clinic! I audited 2 days and rode 2 days. C: it was AWESOME, I learned so much from auditing and even more from riding. We rode in groups of 3 for around 2.5-3 hours at a time, so it was a lot of hard work but it was SO much fun and my riding has really improved. Plus the facility where the clinic was held was gorgeous, and the weather was great - in the 70's - so it was an awesome time.
Annnd now, in addition to my lease, I'm starting to ride the assistant trainer's OTTB! I'm the only person besides her who rides him and he is SUPEr cool. She used to do level 4 and 5 jumpers with him, and is now schooling 3'6-4'. o.O He's a challenging ride and he needs you to "hold his hand", but I really enjoy riding him and I think he might be my future lease! i can definitely learn a lot from him and we work really well together, so I'm excited to see how it pans out.
This week I'm working horsecamp from 9-3, monday-friday. But I'm riding every morning so I get to the barn at 7:30 xD It's fun! I've been doing a lot of work at the barn lately and helping my trainer out as much as I can, and I really enjoy it. C: My trainer is too sweet though, and bought me a pair of
these breeches as a thank you, which was beyond sweet <3 She knew that I really liked hers and she surprised me with them today!
