Ahaa! I'm on the laptop now, I can type something longer :3 sorry I had to ask just then before I went off editing pictures :)
I edited out my face so amazingly xD
Here's my cousins ex race horse Breeze! Her stride is like silk but she's still a little in experienced in terms of being a normal riding horse, she doesn't stand for mounting/after mounting. She doesn't like any kind of contact on her mouth and we were riding around the block by the traffic which made me feel a little uncomfortable but I had a high vis jacket and my cousin was walking with me so it was fine :) She's so well behaved! I was peeking underneath her neck because she was just not fussed ^_^
Image Image

Before you say anything, in these pictures my leg positioning is not very good at all. Mainly because my boots are really not flexible in the slightest. And the field is really slopey. xD Ahh excuses excuses x)

Here, firstly is the gorgeous Checkers :3 He's such a friendly guy! He's only two yet he's so friendly and calm. Apparently he likes the jump over logs in fields and he hasn't been backed yet so he'll probably make a brilliant show jumper ^_^ He's really sweet and his coat is very soft and cute :3
Image
And, the yearling, Frank! You can't really see him properly because he was rugged up, but N got him for £50 because the people couldn't look after him. He was in a bit of a bad way when she got him, but she's feeding him properly and looking after him and he's looking lovely ^_^
Image

As well as riding Fred I got to ride Breeze (a different Breeze, just to make it difficult) because there was nobody else to ride her and she needed exercise. Only some light work as she has a problem with her hip but she still needed to be worked as she is fatttt! :') She threw off the ear protectors, freaked out about it, then continued to shake her whole body to get the flies off for the whole time xC At this point I'm quite knackered as I've just gotten off Fred.
Image

Speaking of Fred... :3
Look at his beautiful blue eye ^_^ the other is blue two but I only got a picture of one side x)
Image

Here he is just before grooming. Pink is definitely his colour!
Image

And to end the picture floods, here is my riding him! We're just about to head in so we're both quite tired. I walked about 2 miles out to see them so I was tired when I got there! Before riding two horses in a row and poo picking the field x) I'm really excited now, she wants me to come out and ride him quite often! Also possible ride checkers after he's been backed! I've gone from having barely anytime around horses to having some ponies that I'm actually committed to helping out with! Although I know there is absolutely no way we could afford it, N did mention to my mum about sharing him fully!
But honestly, I'm fine with just helping out with him and exercising him! Of course I still have a lot to learn, but it'l be a lot better once I start college in september. It's just under three weeks until my riding assessment :/ I'm still having issues with canter! I get scared, cling on to the reins and hold the horse back down to trot :/ Not good!
But anyway, riding him today was really fun :) I'd be so happy if I get to make this a permanent thing x) :D <3

Thank you for reading my long photo spammy post ^_^

quick question C:

What to do when I am riding my horse, and she stops and scratches an itch on her leg. my instructors all tell me to yank her head up, kick her hard, or whack her, but I prefer to just let her get her itch and move on from there. I feel that it is quite unnecessary and a bit cruel to inflict punishment for scratching, but that is what almost everybody tells me to do. so, what do you guys do when your horse scratches an itch while you ride?

I don't act like I'm punishing them, more like squeeze really hard and urge the horse to keep going despite the fact that they itch. Normally if they get moving the bugs don't bother them as much, so they don't mind me interrupting their scratching.

Thank you randompersonH2O! I don't mind her stopping to scratch but I just don't want her to do it in in the show ring :?

When Robert stops to scratch what I do depends on when he stops. If I am just walking or talking to my trainer, just I just let him go, but if he stops when I don't want him to (at the halt/salute in a dressage test for example) I just pull his head up. Pulling a horses head up is not a punishment, it is simply carrying on with your riding.

Hime: lol, my friend nicknamed me "procrastination station" because when we were in school together she found out that I put off most of my work. But I would not be surprised if I put off my stuff for the week before. Tyvar is too much cute for my system <3 He is fading out quite a bit, I really hope he does ending up being a palomino. Maybe it is because chestnuts are so common around here, but I am not crazy about them. Of course it depends on the shade of chestnut, but the "regular" chestnut I don't like. Happy midsummer to you too :P

I know I'm not on much, But RyRy and I have been doing pretty well. My boots broke yesterday and I'm getting Tredstep Donatellos. o.o That's $300! I can't believe this is actually happening to me.
My saddle should be here next month, I'm so freaking exited.

I'm going riding today and I'm going to work in jumping. What are some objects that I can put I. Front of the jump? Today I'm putting a blanket over the jump, a closed chair, a bright blue box, and a bale of hay. What other objects can I add to my list?

I love it when people post pictures of horses on here :) It's like an insight into their horsey life!
I get to go out and ride fred again on monday. I'm going to gradually try to overcome my canter nerves, I feel a bit better than I did before because I know its my mind thats stopping me cantering. I know that I can ride perfectly fine at walk and trot, and I love it. I'm perfectly content to just walk and trot around a field all casual and relaxed. But then it comes to canter and its a different speed and rhythm to what I'm used to and I panic, tense up and suddenly my seat goes, my legs flap around and I hang onto the horses mouth. Not good. I have four chances to ride before my assessment. I need to sort it out by then!

(Also I'm considering doing a discount in my art shop for people on this thread wanting art of their horses/horses they know. Does that sound good to anyone?)
