Filly, chestnut with star and snip. Super super pretty. <3 Also she's quite small, but that's good thing in my oppinion as she's half sister to Heta's foal. Who by the way started moving things along by having her temp drop quite low even though she was outside, not to mention tail is lot looser. So we are thinking she's going to foal soon, which is why I hang around at the stable until 4 pm, and I got there before noon. Why do I must have work tomorrow.... Also L was nice and normal today, so I suppose things are okay now...
@June Bug: Ha ha, never judge the horse by it's size. ;D On the video where there's two horses racing pace, the palomino set the world record to 21.84 with the distance of 250m(19.86 seconds is the old, now unoffical record). For 100 meters race the top scores are around 7 seconds.
Yup you are about right there. Icelandics could be divided into two types roughly speaking. The show type with flashy moves and very forward going(called vilja in Iceland) and then the pleasure/family/trail/lesson horses who usually have smaller movement(which makes them nicer and easier to sit on) and little less go maybe.
@Scarlet: Anything specific type of bits you need help with? Since there are TONS of different bits and it would take ever to explain them all. XD Basically type of bits are first grouped by their rings/shanks(like if the bit is a snaffle(there are couple types of snaffle rings, common being loose, eggbut and D-ring) or a curb for example) and then by mouth piece(single join, three piece, straight etc.).
Nice!
