Milo: glad you had a good barn day! People like that get on my nerves! Does the girl even know how to ride? Horses need more then a walk/trot. Just because you can afford a horse doesn't mean you can get one. I mean, I can /afford/ another rabbit, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to go out and get one! I guess I kinda ranted there, sorry.

Rain: you are such a good rider! Everybody has their faults in riding. Just think about all the good feedback you got from Robert Gage on JMR! You should be proud of your riding, you truly are great at it!

Here are the rest of the pictures because I just realized you can only see one of them!

    @Rain: You're an amazing rider, don't be hard on yourself! D:

    @Blue: Those pictures are adorable! :)

    --

    Rode today! We had a little fun game day. No barrel racing and I didn't get any pictures of me riding, just pictures of Thinker, the foals, and the minis :) Thinker looked so good on the lunge line. We lunged with side reins but he looked so freaking good. Perfect frame, and he was listening so nicely. Everyone was complimenting me on him and said I handle him well :) There were maybe 10 other riders there? I got on him and we did a quick walk trot canter because they were starting the games. Our first game was handing a crop to each other at walk and trot. Then we moved to throwing it while we were a few feet away from each other at walk and trot. It was so much fun xD Since A wasn't there, C and I were partners. She's the girl who bought Shenny. We got walk and trot down so we decided to canter and throw it to each other xD It was SO HARD! I caught it once I think xD Then we had a string of baling twine between us and had to not drop the string while we were riding at w/t/c. It wasn't that hard except it was difficult keeping Shenny and Thinker right next to each other since their strides are so different. After that we tossed the crop to each other more and just had fun xD Then we hopped off. Thinker LOVES the new treats and his new mineral lick! He wouldn't stop licking it xD
    After I put Thinker out in his paddock we went inside the carriage house and ordered pizza c: we talked about horsey stuff and had fun. L's mom and I were talking and at the expo I'm going to soon my barn owner knows a lot of people and got them discounts on everything! They got three pairs of breeches for L there for $40 in total. My barn owner told me she'd talk to the people and get me a discount on full seat breeches. I'm so excited! I'm getting cash from my parents for Christmas for the expo and if I can get a good four pairs of full seats then I'll be a very happy girl. xD I need polos too and I'd like to pick up some bonnets for Thinker to keep flies out of his ears, plus some dress boots c:
    There's this horseback simulator block thing with a saddle on it that even has withers that L, M, and I were practicing on c: The stirrups were so short that I had to stand up instead of sit xD it was fun though! After M left L and I took the saddle off and we practiced mounting bareback on it indian style xD The block's the size of Zena, and I was able to get on there pretty easily Indian style, so I think I'll be able to get on Zena bareback :D I'm going to ask my instructor Monday if I can grab Zena and just put her bridle on and ride her bareback. If I can I'll have A record me getting on and wtc with her c: it'll look so funny though. xD
    I had so much fun today :D I'm hacking Thinker tomorrow and then I have drill practice Monday and possibly riding Zena before drill. c:

At the barrel racing show today I placed 3rd and 4th. But on one event, he ran into the fence, started galloping around the arena, and ran into the fence again and ran out the shoot. Again, like last week, no stopping him. My friend ran her horse up in front of him and made him stop finally. I'm tired of him doing this. Not only did I miss the whole event, but its very dangerous. He has never done that in an arena before. He was mean the whole day. I don't know what his deal was.

Monchele: aw thank you. Those games sound like so much fun! I'm hoping to do something like that with A and her pony. Have fun at drill. Getting on Robert bareback was...interesting. I had to have my dad stand in front of him holding the reins (you know, about six-eight inches below the bit) so he wouldn't walk away on me xD it was fine luckily and I got on fine. I was going to do a bit on canter, but just don't have the seat confidence to ride bareback at the canter. I will eventually, but just now after a month or two of riding him :)

Kickin': I'm sorry about that. I'm trying to think of way to get him to stoop that, but I'm stumped because if I were to say go fords a fence, he runs into them then takes off. You could try circling, but you really have to have enough room.

@Blue:
Yeah. Your rabbit would be toast in that wind lol. Thats the type of wind that is considered very high tornado wind. That would blow over a semi easily and easily tear down a house. Luckily it was only gusts, instead of straight on or it could have carried down to the ranch and there would be nothing left haha.
There's something to be said for a place that hasn't had all the rough rode out of it.

    I'm appalled by my equitation. Appalled. I hate my legs. My thighs are so stupidly large and fat, and my feet are comically long. I hate them so much. My leg stays forward because my stupid thighs are so long. And my leg is sliding everywhere. Here I was thinking a new saddle would fix some of my problems. Well it's obvious that nothing in my life can stay happy for more than a day or two.

Oh, rain, this isn't true. I've seen pictures of you riding, and you're STUNNING. Your equitation is beautiful - Robert Gage even said so, and he's a seasoned pro. Your leg is not sliding everywhere. It's not. I watched the video of you going through those grids like a pro, and I didn't see it slide a single inch.
What's this about your thighs being long? They don't look long to me. Your legs are long, which is great, especially for riding. Your thighs aren't long in proportion to the rest of your leg. Be happy with long legs, they make it easier to ride the naughty horses because you have more options.
You are learning, you are improving every day. Think back to a year ago, when you were riding Winnie. I can tell you, from pictures, that you've improved by leaps and bounds. You were already a good rider then and you're even better today. And guess what - YOU WILL CONTINUE GETTING BETTER. That's how it works. I know how incredibly frustrating it is to feel stuck on a small issue, but honestly, that doesn't matter. Of course, try your hardest to fix the issue, but don't obsess over the little things. Keep your eye on the big picture. You have years ahead of you to continue improving. <3

@blue:
Wow, you guys look super cute together! ;D And your riding has seriously improved so much since I've last seen pictures, I'm proud! xD It sounds like you and Robert are a match made in heaven.

I only read a few pages back, so quote to me if you'd like me to read something!

Yeah that's the problem. And today he wouldn't even turn in circles. I had his nose almost to his neck and he still wouldnt stop.

@Mr.Milo: No benefits really, other than I can voice my oppinion at the meetings when it comes to planning events and such. XD Our barn is small in way, so there usually aren't too many entries(5 people is like lot XD) in the shows. Not to mention we can't even have offical classes as we only got arena and no oval track. : P
Can we pretend that the airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?
I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now...

Hime wrote:@Amy Pond: Have you rode him after he had his teeth done before this? Sometimes horses do react to having their teeth done for while, also depending on how much was done in their mouth. But usually they should be better after few days when they get used to their 'new' mouth.
Other thing I'd check is his bit. If it's loose ring it may get sharp edges where the rings connect to the mouth piece, and those might be pinching him. Generally checking the bit might not be too bad, check the bridle too especially the nose band. He might have had an off day as well, so I think you should ride him with bit again and see if he's better. It could have been the jumps making him like that as well, you never know... But if he's weird again then there is probably an issue somewhere. Trying a different mouth piece might solve the issue(for Heta it has worked), but not necessary stronger. What kind of bit you have now?
__________
We had our club's annual meeting today, you know the one where they choose the new board for the next year and offical stuff like that. There was like 7 of us there. Few that were supposed to come canceled on last moment and actually from the old board there was only two or three persons present. : P Sucks, but we got new board together. Many of the old members got re-selected(suprise suprise) and then we got couple new people on the board(chairman, vice-chair and member). Guess what, I got in! :D As a member, which is totally fine since they originally tried to get me as the secretary, but that would have been like waaaaayyy too much for me. Now I just have to show up to the meetings and open my mouth sometimes(lol). Though I took over updating our clubs website and facebook page. L brought that up since I spend loooaads of time on computer anyway, and I actually planned on volunteering to do that anyway, so yay. Also our new chairman seems like she's going to be super good at her job, like I think this is not a first time she has been a chairman in a club as she knew good bunch of the offical stuff.
We are having two stable shows this year, one in April and another some point during fall. :) I know I'm probably not riding in either, but still it's should be fun.

@Hime; He had his teeth done a while ago. About 5 months ago so I don't think it was that. He could have a lose tooth or something though and if he's still funny with his mouth for more then a week I might get them checked again.
I checked his bit today before I rode and gave it a clean. There were no sharp edges and it's not a lose ring. http://www.busse-reitsport.de/produktbilder/600/TN140015_Kaugan.jpg
He's been really happy in that bit so far ^^ I used to have him in a single joint snaffle but he didn't like it poking into the roof of his mouth and I think he likes this one better because he can move it a bit more and it has a bit more give. I do think the jumps were making him a bit hyped up but he did it a bit in the flat arena too :/ I dunno, but he was better today when I rode him so I'll give it a bit more time before I think something is drastically wrong. I am going to give him a go bitless during the week though =D But thanks for you're help and congrats on getting on the board! I'll give a better reply tomorrow lol but still that's awesome Hime!
