hey everyone =)

just found this thread.. I own 2 horses (a QH geldiing who barrel races & a retired appy mare) & 4 mini longears (a pregnant donkey, 2 mule jennets and a soon-to-be mule gelding)

I know I felt so bad for Tyler! I am like incredibly scared of hights too, so I really respect him for jumping off that bridge! A third friend of mine actually joined in as well last night and completed the first two dares, but she chickened out on the rest of them. She would have lost though and she would have had to do the ultimate dare tomorrow. But my friend and I each have 5 points right now, and my other friend chickened out with only 2 points. So we really can't continue because my bff and I will do anything lol. But we are going to try to get some of the guys to join in tomorrow. I asked, that one guy who isn't so bad looking, to do a dare and he even chickened out, and I did it! I was like: Really? Jeeze... Haha. I didn't get a chance to give him my bracelet though. Haha stupid science teacher was like: GIRLS!!! SHUT UP!!! hahaha. Hehehe, I am so excited!!! New Buckwild show tonight and Tyler is an absolute beast and whoops a guy!!!! <3

@Elizabeth: wow that is alot of horses, what kind f sport do you do with them?

I like doing barrel racing, halter, show man ship, pole bending, cattle cutting, trail class, and raining.

@Dolphin; I totally forgot to congradulate you on your show! Sorry bout that but congrats =D You and Shadwell make an amazing team and I bet you the rest of the season is gonna go well after such a positive result!

@Hime; Cars do stupid things I hope it gets fixed or something sorts the issue out.
And yeah that's Ginger :3 She is a Cylde x Quater horse and she's super sweet <33 All your new stuff sounds awesome though =D I love buying new horsey stuff xD

@Mr. Milo; Lol No, though Musk did try to help xD. So basically you ride up to a bucket filled with water at one end of the arena, jump off your horse and try to get one of the apples out using only your mouth, then once you have an apple run back to your team so the next rider can go. Games are fun and a good way to unwined and have fun. I'm not 100% sure what breed Domino is but I think he is some kind of stock/quater horse mix. But like I said, not really sure xDD Hhaha he has his moments xD

Sorry for not replying yesterday, but we had a bit of a fire inccident at the aggistment. Our instructor had rung A in a bit of a panic because she heard that there was a fire heading our way so we all had to rush down to the horses and take their fly veils and rugs off, while trying to figure out if we did have to evacuate them, where they would all go and who could float ect. The fire wasn't to far away but it wasn't super close either and luckily it was contained before it got to us ^^ But yeah that was our little bit of excitment for the day Dx
And it the day before the show D: Makes me stress lol I have to figure out how to sew in plaits and we have to give Donny and Tyson a tune up because we missed riding yesterday and Wensday, and we have to wash and rug and clean all our gear and find our show clothes and blah xD I think I'm only stressing though becuase neither of us have the proper jackets or whatever and I hate not having the proper gear for a show like this Dx I stress for silly reasons lol

@Hime; Thanks for the link =D I haven't had much to do with gaited horses so it's good to actually learn soemthing about them. That's awesome you had a good ride on Heta though! The tractor sounded pretty funny xD I hope your car stops having problems though

@Mr. Milo; Yeah, at least he wasn't taking off all over the place xD As for games we did heaps of different things. I'll do a list lol.

I had something else I wanted to post, but I've forgotten lol xDD But S, Midnight:), A and I are going to a show on Saturday =D Should be fun :3 We've got a guy at our aggisment coaching us and he's an awesome teacher =D

Fire nearby sounds pretty scary. D: Really glad they got it under control.

Lunged and rode a little yesterday. Also got some video and new pics. ;D Heta had an icicle and some othervise icy patches hanging from her coat when I went to get her from the paddock. Like ice for real, not snow. Weird... Got them off with curry comb and some I needed to pull/melt with my fingers. Decided to lunge her a little first since she's had few days off and it was getting really cold(-9 when I left, -11 when I got there) so I wouldn't freeze totally. Walked her around first in hand and then her let loose, still walk. And suprise, she stayed by the rail. XD Lazy butt, the middle only had little thicker and softer snow... But at least she didn't try cutting suddenly to somewhere and changing direction. After walking and changing the direction few times asked for trot, Heta goes canter. Which was okay, since it was controlled and calm canter. So she canters a little while(on video noticed that she went to cross canter in last corner before trot) then moves to trot and keeps trotting. Worked for me, then walk and changed direction again(to left). Let her walk some more and asked trot. She goes tolt for while(darn didn't get it on video) and then few steps of trot, and walk. I ask again and she decides to bolt in crazy gallop. >_< And I didn't even ask her that much... Well she runs around for while like a nut, ignoring me totally, and even comes off the rail. Then she calms down a little and trots, only to go nuts again... Next time she calmed down she actually did calm down for real. I did let her cool off a little before asking her to go left again and then ask little as possible trot. She did trot, but it wasn't totally relaxed even though it was okay speed. So ended it there and let her walk. Then stop, clipped reins back on and got my helmet. I tried to get her stand next to snow block, but she's not very good at standing next to anything while mounting bareback... So gave up and just got on the normal way, I think I'm getting little more smoother with that... XD Then bended her around a little on circles in walk. She was good so I got off pretty quick. Then cleaned one poo she made and couple other half frozen ones, since some people are lazy to clean up after their horses. -__-

And no riding today since it's really cold(-15C at the moment and dropping). Sucks kinda since it's really nice and sunny othervise. : P

Have any of you started Barrel racing yet?

If so, I would really appreciate some tips, because I believe my riding group will be getting into that soon.

What you need to do is always sit deep in the saddle and keep your eyes on the next barrel. At first don't go for speed but work on small turns. Then add up speed. If it doesn't go we'll the first time then that is okay. It took me a year and a half before I got my time under twenty seconds but it is pretty easy so you should do great
