@Cruising- I tend to drop my hands too low and let the reins slide through my fingers. Both are things I'm working to fix and they are getting better, but not quite habit yet. For whatever reason I hold my hands in just the right spot at the sitting trot, so if I can make that a habit at all gaits then I'm set.

Y'all that are 5'4 and 5'5 and 5'7 are LUCKY. I'm 5'11. ;_; I can't ride the smalls, I can kinddda do the larger mediums but it's hard, and I'm fine on the larges, it just looks ridiculous. xD Just to show you how ridiculous I look on a pony, this is me riding William, the 13.2hh POA I had the privledge to school over the summer. PLEASE don't say anything about my eq, I know it's not very good in this pic xD I had to ride in the tiny pony saddle too, it was awful. And my head looks really strange in this... o.O Overall an extremely embarasing pic, I'm probs gonna take this down
This is me riding Kat who is 15.1... He's pretty tiny for me. And don't comment on my Eq in this please, I look crappy and it was over the summer, I've improved. And Kat is an Arab - he likes to hold his head up high. ._. He's impossible to get on the bit. As you can see, 5'11 on a 15.1hh arab looks bad xD

-cut for size-
!

@Horse Height; You and me both Hano. I'm 5'11 too so I can't ride the small ponies. Tank is 15hh and I look big on him lol xD Luckly Donny is the perfect height <3 I've always ridden bigger horses though and I just like them better anyway, like a few years ago I used to ride this big 17.1hh Warmblood named Rocky (He's awesome but probably pretty old by now).

@Bluebird22 post from ages ago; Here's a link to video of Donny's canter. Image It's got even better since that was taken too =D He's now rounding up a bit more consistantly and lifting his back. Also stopped rushing at the trot so I can let him be a bit more forward lol Sorry for taking forever -.-

@Crusing;
My riding goals for 2013 are;
-Have Donny competing in Improvers (60-70cm) and training 70-80cm
-Place in the new class for jumping
-Place in a dressage comp
-Score over 50% in my dressage tests consistantly
-Go out and do some more showing (Even though I don't like it to much lol It's fun to do every now and then)
-Get Donny ready for TinTurn (3 day eventing)
-Go and do some cross country on Donny
-Establish haunches and shoulder in
-Work on my posistion, fix my hands.
-Get a job
-Have fun while doing all this xD

Quote anything else if you want me to reply =D

Yeah sorry I haven't been posting much again. My friend and I have a new project pony to work on =D His name is Coco and he's super sweet but extremly nevous and spooky. We don't have to much info on him and no way of confirming it :/ We think he is an Arab x Welsh cob x somthing or a Quater Horse x Welsh. He's 14.3hh and we were told he was around 12 but our instructor thinks he might be a bit older. He's unregistered and has no brands so we can't trace him either. Doesn't matter though ^^ He was the pony of another girl at the aggistment and she wasn't really coming down to ride him much so A asked the owner if she would free lease. She offered to sell him to A for 5,000 and we got him on trial. In the end A brought him =D We've been working with him for 4 days now and he's improved so much! Like you wouldn't think he was even the same horse. Coco had been sitting out in the paddock doing nothing for a few months so he just really needed someone to spend time with him. He was hard to catch and hated having his feet touched, but now we can catch him easily and he'll let you pick up his feet without to much dancing around. But yeah that's why I haven't been on for awhile xD I'll have to get some photos for you guys, he looks a bit like a mini Donny in colour except a bit more scruffy xD Donny and Coco were adorable yesterday though! We let them say hi and stuff while A and I were talking and the next minute we turn around and they're grooming each other xDD It was so cute <3 Haha anyway that's why I haven't been around too much lately.

Dear lord SO MANY POSTS. I think I just read through like 50 pages, no joke. o.O For the sake of my sanity, I'm not going to answer anyone specifically, but I've skimmed through everything. I'm glad that hear that everyone's riding has been going well lately for the most part, and I enjoyed the pics! Such cute horses~
I'm just going to reply to the current topics. If you really want me to answer your post feel free to quote, but I've read everything xD

@Hobbies outside of riding/music:
Whoever started this topic, it's a good one xD
For music, I like a variety of stuff... My favorite artists are Lana Del Rey, Mumford & Sons, Florence + The Machine, and pretty much anything country. Lana Del Rey is my favorite singer EVER, though, go on youtube and listen to all of her songs, she's amazing.
Hobbies. Well, riding is my life, pretty much. xD Haha. But I also spend my time doing things with friends, who are very important to me even if the barn and horses take up a lot of my life. I like to draw when I feel creative enough... I like to run, and I'm in my school's community service club so I do that too. I also LOVE photography, haha. Yep C:

@Riding colors!:
Ahh, what a great topic xD I love coordinating colors.
I have a navy pad with light blue and white piping that I use a lot. If I'm just hacking I'll pair that with either white or navy polo wraps and either my navy and light blue bonnet or my white bonnet, or just my plain navy bonnet. I think that navy looks the best on chestnuts.
White is probably my go-to color, which is stupid because it gets sooo dirty. But it looks good on virtually every horse. So I'll do a white pad with white wraps and a white bonnet, sooo cute <33
I'm not big into neon colors, though. I like to keep it more professional/classy with whites, navy, some blue, maroon, etc, but I still have fun with bonnets C:

_____
Sorry if seems like I'm ignoring you guys, it's just that there were like a MILLION posts to read through and I don't have the energy to answer each and every one right now.
But please, guys - tell me, how's your riding going? How are your horses? How are you? C:

Smokey: sorry, I did miss that. This thread moves so fast! I show my gray Dutch Waffles (long story on how hegothis name, but it does have meaning xD) in showmanship,and sr. Buck. I don't think our 4h has fir shows, but we should! Yeah, Waffles doesn't do to go with standing still. It's mostly because he has so much energy and once he is out of the cage all he wants to do is look around-and eat the carpet lol. I'm going to deffently work at this with him durring the winter/spring. He also tends to get "excited" at fair (aka he starts hum*ing my and my friends arm. -_- not too fun.). So I have to deal with that too. For me it goes
1- horses
2- rabbits
3- dogs
These past...two years I think I have been showing my dog in showmanship and obedience, but I don't think I will keep showing her because 1. I don't have use or the time nessary to train at the level she would be placed in. And 2. some of the dogs in my 4h's training group are nippy and distracting to all the other dogs. But both years we have placed, so that's good :)

Amy: thanks, I will take a look at it soon!

My horse goals-

-One last try at finding Bronson.
-GET MY STUFF BACK!
-Give it one more shot at working with horses again while in college.
-Maybe, maybe go out and see Henry while Darla isn't home sometime (she usually goes to Oklahoma over Easter Break, so that'd be my window.)

Also, not a goal, but I might go back to "working" there over the summer, simply for the purpose of finally being able to leave like I want to- by calling her a few choice words, taking back my stuff, and driving away as fast as I can. If I do go back, I'll leave again on a day where she tries to make me pay, even if that happens the third day I go back. It's a stupid plan, really, but then it'll finally feel like I've done something right. From what my friends have told me, she does want me to come back, so it could happen.

Also, I made this a few days ago. A little collage of my second and second to last days riding there. If anyone wants to see.

-------

@ Hano and Amy Pond, you guys think you're tall? My friend grew 8 inches over the winter about 4 years ago, putting her at 6'2". She spend the majority of time riding a 17 hand horse when she was short, so she never really got to ride ponies, and if she tries to ride anything under 14.1, she falls off because she doesn't know how to balance xD. Her horse is 14.3, but he's more than strong enough to handle her, and she's one of the only people strong enough to control him, so they actually fit well together. But she's a giant, oh my gosh.

I'll try to keep responding and such, but whenever I pop in there's really nothing I can answer at the moment...

@ M'ov: Aw, sorry about your dad. I can sympathize with that--both of my parents are a little anti-horse. But at least the first part of your lesson went well! I do love bareback, and when your lesson started to go downhill at least it wasn't really your fault. You got rushed. <3

This is such a late post, I`m sorry;

He`s gotten a bit better, but I can`t say he`s good with that whole fact that I`m riding horses. I`m glad that my first part of the lesson went well, I just wish I didn`t get rushed. /:

~

Anyway, yesterday I fell off for the first time; twice actually. xD

So I started off riding Whistle, bareback, and it didn`t go so bad. { I also learned how to lunge a horse, it was pretty fun c: }

But later on after all the lesson kids left and had their riding done on this new pony, Tag Along, that we`ve had for about three weeks now, my trainer let me hop on the pony, just for fun. He isn`t fully broken yet, but he`s ride-able, and knows the basics of riding. He`s just super hard to stay onto; and in my case, I was doing a speed barrel pattern and Tag Along doesn`t do the nicest of all turns, so I slipped off, but landed on my feet. I was cracking up because it was my first time falling off and it was off of a pony. I started off again with the pattern and slipped off again, but it was so fun though to ride the little guy. My trainer and I got a kick out of it. C:

                            I said, people

                            We're all looking for love tonight

                            But sometimes we can't see it

                            We're blinded by light

                            And we all get low, all get low

                            Searching for that piece of mind

                            Just when I've given up

                            Looking for some kind inside

                            {{. I love me some barrel racing.

Oh, wow, so many posts!

Anyway, I think somebody asked what colour and breed my new horse is...? He's a bay, with a plain star on his forhead, and his breed is New Zealand Thoroughbred <3 I'm picking him up in about two and a half hours, I am so excited!

@M'ov~ Wow, you must have some pretty good falling-off skills to land on your feet ;D I always land on my head, and I've done a few faceplants. Glad you found it fun, it's better when t doesn't hurt ^-^
