Bluebird22 wrote:Milo: okay thanks :) Here's how it went. I got to the barn early so i took my time groom daly Bare (yes I changed his nickname to Daly Bare instead of boy because he looks like a big bare <3) The we warmed up and he was good other then not wanting away from the mare we were walking by.The we did a group trot and it was good, occasionally he would go into walk and it would take a little to get him back to trot. But it was fine. I did have a little trouble with sitting trot, I couldn't control my bouncing at. all. It was really frustrating. But then it got worse. My trainer had us do a pattern It's really hard to explane, so I drew it up. Let me know if you can't see it. http://sta.sh/024hdp5mac8h . The first time really sucked. Daly went into canter after the third poll and even after I circled him and tried it again, he did the same thing. I finally got him to pay attention, but after he had to stand away from the group because he was trying to take me to the end of the line. The nest time, it was so much better! The pattern was pretty good (only messed up on one poll) but at the end he did almost buck me off, i was doing a half hald (correctily) but he just stopped all of the sudden and i was flung on his neck. but I stayed on and made him do the course again. cool down was fine though, he was being good again. Then after I spend the entire day helping around the barn. This other girl who is just a year or two older then me was there also so we mucked out all the barn, swept out the two big barns, watered all the horses a couple times fed, hayed the fields (it was raining so it the field was all mud, not joking, the golf cart almost got stuck in the mares paddock xD But for the boys it was too muddy to drive in, so while she drove I tossed hay flakes in to the paddock, then we would get out and take the rest out farther. Lets just say it was really hard doing that.) But it was fun. Then she groomed her favorite horse and I groomed Daly. I loved it! probably going back to help out Tuesday or Wednesday.

I think this got missed.

Dolphin: that's so great! Can't wait to here more about it! How did Mully's visit and ride go?

M'ov: oh I know! But I have been doing physical therapy for about 2 years so I was able to have pretty good balance, still, it is hard when just starting! :)

Tainted: do you have any pictures?

{show: tag sounds like a lot of fun!! What classes were you in?

Luff: hope he feels better soon. <3

    My Horse Related Dreams:

    - Rescue a horse

Not a good day. Yesterday everything went well at the ranch and when we went out to feed daisy (a mini we sold and are babysitting for her owners while they are away) Coliced. And bad. Very bad. We stayed up till three 30 before we got any sleep. we pumped her full of mineral oil, electrolites and water. Shes pooped twice and we have given her pain meds but shes really bad. We have had some major weather changes. Pray for the best, normally we can tube our horses, but since its not ours, we dont wanna risk it. So we might be going to the horsey er

Not yet, simply because we are close friends with them, they are new mini owners and they are on vacation. The mother, is coming home today. But she is the type if we would tell her she would fly home in a instant and we dont want to do that to her until we know for sure if we must take her in.

@Slater -
I'm sorry! I hope Daisy is okay! ;(

RANT WARNING .
I rode stage yesterday. I'm getting really fed up with her battiness, she's not the same horse I bought two months ago. She has a bad attitude about working and refuses to cooperate. My instructor had to walk beside her with a whip to get her to walk at a reasonable pace. I think she could tell I was getting frustrated. I feel like a little bit of a jerk, but I lost patience half way through the ride. I like to be subtle with my aids but she pushed me to be very obvious with them. I got her to trot, which was lovely, but the process to get her there took far too long. I didn't enjoy riding her. The seller is taking her for training tomorrow, to help get rid of her diva attitude. I might ride today, but I'm not excited about it.

@smokey: that is so AWESOME i hope you are able to, it would be super awesome if you met Trevor and Mary. I would stare in amazement at them.

@Opal: not sure if you read my post on top of pg 148, if you didn't want to answer thats cool with me!^^

@Blue: ahh sorry i didn't mean to skip that! Anyway that looks like a really complicated pattern, i would forget where i was going. Im glad you didn't fall off. I hate when Astoria does that, which is often so i have to keep finding ways to get his attention. Seems like you had a good day at the barn. I love to help out and ride, it makes me feel good when the barn owner appreciates what i do.

@Cavey: awww that is so exciting, i would love to see the look on her face when she gets that pony. And i wish the same thing but that will never happen for me. Though its great working at the farm, Mikey almost feels like my horse since im able to do everything a horse owner would do with their horse really. But i will probably lease him in the summer since he would have been under the saddle by that time if everything goes well. Anyway wow i still think its awesome that you play polo, are there different saddles for that sport? how are they like? Toffee is really cute though!

@Slater: oh poor Daisy i hope she can recover!

@Admires: im sorry your ride doesn't go well and i hope that Stage's attitude that day was a one time deal, though if not i hope it improves, i know how it feels to ride a horse who will not respond.

-------------------------------------------------

Also a package just came in from Dover Saddlery and im curious as to what it is. It's pretty heavy and i know i asked my mom for riding gloves, perhaps she got me some breeches as well but it still wouldn't be as heavy as it it now.

Milo: yeah, it was really confusing! I know, it feels so good! My trainer was saying that if I work my butt off, when I am 16 they will offer me a job! :D could it be boots, or maybe some kind of tack?

Urgh. Things have not been going well with Major and I lately. Our last few rides have been terrible.
It's not his fault, though. He's such an amazing old man, he tries his little heart out for me and all his little issues and bad habits aren't his fault. He's been used a lot lately- almost entirely for beginner lessons. And the cold, damp weather is making him really stiff.
So our ride went horribly, but he got a lot of treats anyways. And I took some reindeer antlers off a headband and attached them to my halter, so all the horses got to be deer for a day. xD

And I'm leaving to ride Harry in like fifteen minutes. I love this pony. So so much. <3

Oh, and I'm getting this half pad for Christmas. =)
