+1 for tongs. Hand feeding results in torn up hands. Yes, from my yearling corn. And from my 4-month old boa. Little monsters have tagged me more than Diamond has.

Would it get 100 degrees in the house? If not, I probably wouldn't worry..

If you have ac in your new house, you should be fine. Otherwise if it should get too hot, maybe put up a fan in the room with the corn? Or, if it gets really bad, you can put some cool packs on the cool side of the tank.

Air conditioning! Seriously, that's about your only option. I had to have my AC running 24/7 last summer to keep Quetzal from pressure-cooking in his tank >3> Keep that room as cool as possible with fans or AC or else your snake will not appreciate the warmth.

If it got that hot inside, you can bet that we would probably be at a hotel or something with air conditioning. Even if we would have to drive 6 hours to my grandmas from there.

My parents have a 'Mini' English Bulldog who can't deal with heat that high, so if she had to leave the house, I would take the snake too.

We do have AC in all the houses we are looking at, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something special I should do for the snake.

I can't get lizards or geckos, they creep my stepdad out.

He is insanely allergic to feathers, otherwise we would have a macaw. We both love them.

Do you guys have any books on corn snakes to suggest? I haven't talked my mom into getting the book from the SMR guy yet.

After reading the book from Don at SMR, I don't know which way to go.

Should I feed it one every four days or one every 6-7 days?
