Hey guys, I need help. My oldest and dearest sword, Emilee, has a weird white band over the top of her head. I need to know what it is so I can make it to away.

How many gallons is your tank? : 20g

How many fish and what types are they? : 6 swords, but she's currently in QT until I know what's wrong and how to cure it
How long has it been running? : 7 months

Did you cycle it? : yeah

If possible what are the ammonia nitrite and nitrate levels? : not sure...

What is the issue or question? : my sword has a white band over the top of her head. I need to know if it's a disease, or contagious, and how to treat it. I have a picture. Sorry for the quality.http://rockanrollprincess.deviantart.com/art/White-bump-429964096?ga_submit_new=10%253A1390857034

Long time no post! c:
I've ordered my first Axolotl today. I've waited almost a month to get her and I'm finally getting her.
She is a leutistic white, the breeder ships her out tomorrow. She will get her by friday. She is currently only 2 inches ! <3
I am going to call her Princess Zochi. I have her tank set up and everything!

Thank you to whoever it was that messaged me and asked if I was sure that all my sorority girls were female. I always watch my sorority very closely and although I had suspected it myself, I wasn't entirely sure...

There's no doubt now that the fish in question is male. I put a divider up in the tank to give him his own space and he's doing very well. He was flaring up a storm today and I'm so excited to watch the little guy grow! I've named him Mira.

Oh goodness he is gorgeous! I have a male Betta that I bought from Walmart that was labeled Female, but he was a male Plakat! He's a beautiful multicolor turquoise boy, and I love him very much. <3
hi there! I’m betta and I think bugs are neat :)

For just one Goldfish on their own, how big of a tank would they need?
It would have a filter, Bubbler {If needed}, and live plants, etc.

Depends on what you get.
For Fancy goldfish its 20gal for the first and 10-15 gal for everyone you add.
For single tails its 55 for the first and 10-15 for every one you add.

Both need 2xthe size of the tank in filtration and 10x the size of the tank in GPH.
So say you had a 30 gal. You need a 60 gal filter witha GPH of 300.
Also the decor should be miminal, nothing sharp or anything they can get stick in. Water changes should be done weekly and do at least 50%.
Also longer tanks are better then tall tanks.

He must have been very young when I got him as I've had him for a couple months already. It makes me happy that I was able to keep such a young betta alive and healthy! He was mislabeled as a female crown tail, but his fins were so short at the time that I didn't question it.

Oh wow your boy sounds gorgeous! Yeah I would expect plakats to be the most commonly mislabeled. I'm glad I realized my mistake with Mira before he got too big. He wasn't causing any trouble yet but I wasn't about to wait until that happened!

I'm beginning to think one of my young females might be a male, s/he's a natural multicolor doubletail that I found at the back of the shelves... I named her Cobra. I think she's a female, but Blueberry has been a bit aggressive to her (I have him in a tank near my 20 gallon) and flares whenever Cobra comes near his tank...

Would it be ok to add an African dwarf frog to my 3 gallon betta tank?

As long as your betta can tolerate tank mates, a frog should do fine! :3
