It'll have strong lighting, my dad's gonna get one of the bulbs that grows plants. I think he wants a second substrate tank ^^ I normally use gravel, but for the ammount of plants this is gonna have it'll definitely be sand or substrate. I should only buy smooth rocks, right?

Awesome! ^^ I hope you show progress pics. :3 I love planted tanks.
Yepper. Nothing sharp or super jagged.
And I'm not sure if you already know this (you probably do), but just in case - you'll want to do a vinegar test on any rocks that you add. If it fizzes, it's not safe. And some rocks I think might effect you pH, but don't quote me on that.

Is it bad to move a goldfish? When I get a bigger tank (hopefully soon) I'm going to be moving it upstairs where there's more room. Is this going to cause any problems? I don't want so stress him out or anything...

Moving them should be fine, just make sure you do it carefully is all. I moved the minnows from the tank inside to the stock tank in the garage, and I put them in a ziplock with their tank water and let them acclimate to the stock tank temp. When I released them in they were fine. Going to actually go move some of the goldfish right now. I'm doing them in clusters every couple of days so as to let them all adjust smoothly. So if you've only got a few goldfish you should be just fine moving them all together.

I only have one fish^^ Thank you c:

and another question: Is there any specific methods for introducing goldfish? I'm planning on getting another to put in my new tank, but I don't want them to fight.

Goldfish aren't agressive
They might be curious and chase each other abit but they don't fight ;)

Well technically almost any animal can be aggressive... I just don't want to stress them out.

And one final question (sorry for so many)
Can fancy tail and single tail goldfish live together?

Why are snails illegal? O_o
Like all snails? Is it cause pond snails can cause problems?
Maybe you can find a LFS that sells nerites since they don't reproduce in freshwater. I recommend them all the time at work to people who want an algea eater but don't want the snail boom that happens with pond snails.

And Peach, I'm not sure, I think I've heard someone say it's not a good idea. Which makes sense when you think about it, fan tails usually have more drag, and aren't as fast a swimmer as single tails like comets. And so if there was a problem and for some reason the single tail was the aggressor, it would be really easy for him to pick on the fan tail.

Yeah, I have been looking for nerite snails but still they don't sell freshwater snails. It is because they reproduce so much but I don't see why they don't sell nerite snails.

Went to the pet store today to get some water conditioner and saw the prettiest fishies. I was like a kid in a candy store. My pet store has some beautiful crowntail bettas and cute lil figure eight and speckled (I don't know their real name) puffers. I saw a metallic betta that had a body that seemed to look white and fins that seemed to look red, but his fins had a blue sheen and in specific lighting they looked light blue! I was about to take him home, if only I had the tank space.

I also checked out filters and tanks, their 15 gal is only 30 bycks and I have about 65 dollars in savings for a tank so it's affordable, and the filter was in a good price range too. :) Looks like I'm getting another tank!

Wild. One: That's so weird. You'd think they wouldn't care if you put a ghost shrimp in an aquarium. xD
