The thing that hangs my filter on for the 26ltr has gone missing.
Anyone got any ideas on what I could use to hang it on untill I find it?
Its an interpet internal power filter.
I really need to move my guppy into it ASAP, he's the last one I have left so I really need to get some more, but I aint gonna risk it in the divided tank again.

Also, my 54ltr should be ready to move my community fish into by the weekend :D Which means I can get female guppies again!
I saw some stunning girls yesterday, but I'm pretty sure most of them were heavily pregnant (some deffinatly were). Which wouldnt be a problem, if we wernt going on holiday in two weeks. My brother will be coming to feed the fish, but wont be able to move them in/out of breeders traps if they start giving birth.
Any ideas what I could do to prevent the babies getting eaten if they give birth while were away? I have a few of those plastic traps that can be divided, and a net one. And I have plently of plastic canvas to make tank dividers, though I'm not sure what count it is off the top of my head.
Some of them looked fit to burst, so they may give birth before we go, but I'd like to be prepared, just in case.
But, if there isnt anything I can do, then I'll just have to wait to get some till we come back.

I would recommend putting lots and lots of plants in the tank as well as some pebbles or things similar also moss which floats on the surface if you leave them in the breeder too long they may get stressed.

Thanks :) I only have plastic plants, but Ive got loads, & theyre soft & I can pull the bases off so they can float. I should be able to get some moss as welll though.
Yeah, i figured leaving them in a breeder for 10 days wasnt the best of ideas, and when I used to keep bettas in them, some of them got past the divider.

Anyone else got any ideas? For the guppies, and for the filter.

I think you should add another filter. The cycled one will help out with the cycling one and you shouldn't see much of a cycle bump if any at all.
I have done this twice. Once when I went from my 40 gallon to my 110.
My 40 gallon had a walmart 40 gallon filter and it helped cycle my two aquaclear 110s. After that I added my fluval 306 canister and did not have any issues.
If you think you are having water flow issues get a bucket of tank water from your tank NOT untreated tap waterand lightly rinse your filter media in it. That will help remove any big debris and help with water flow. Just dont do it too much or you could crash your cycle.
Honestly, a second filter is an amazing safety net. I have 4 filters total on my 110. My two aquaclear 110s, my Fluval 306 and my sponge filter. :)

Ooh thank you, that is encouraging to hear =) hoping a little 10 gal. filter will help get the job done. Wonder if my plants will get a nice boost from improved water flow too!

So, I'm going to get the guppies tomorrow. I'll post pics when I get them, 'coz I'll probably need someone to help me figure out how far along they are.
I'm moving my community fish into the 54ltr tomorrow, so I'll be putting the guppies in the 27ltr.
The 27ltr is due for a clean, but seeing as I'm putting new fish in it, should i do a full or partial water change?
The walls of the tank are clean, so I wont need to scrub those down, but the gravel will need cleaning. And the filter, of course.

And I still would like help with my other questions, in the post at the top of the page.

Today I managed to find a clown loach! He looks to be quite thin, but I'm hoping he will fatten up and pull through now that he doesn't have to compete with any tetras for food. He's going to get spoiled with Omega One algae wafers and Repashy Meat Pie gel food. Yum!

Does anybody have advice on olive nerite snails? I've recently acquired some and I'm kind of lost on how to care for them. I don't have any fish, therefore there would be no alge. What should I feed them as a substitute and how often? Do they need a light/filter/oxygen etc.?

Algae doesn't come from fish, it grows in high light. Yes, they need oxygen. The filter depends on the size of the tank. If it is tiny, then you may not want to filter it. You can buy algae wafers or bottom feeder tablets, cucumber, zucchini, or romaine lettuce.

I have nerite snails. c= You can buy algae wafers to supply food, and they also need calcium in their water, so maybe a cuttlefish bone or a calcium block can help with that. If you notice that their shells are breaking then that could mean that there isn't enough calcium/the water isn't hard enough. c; They don't need a light, but they do need oxygen because they are air breathers. They will come out of the water occasionally though for air if needed. Nerite snails like warm water but most of them seem fine in cold water, like mine. =3 Just be careful not to overfeed with substitues as you could end up with some unwanted things in the tank such as detritus worms. ( That's what happened to me ^^' )
