So Cambodians are basically pale almost white bodies with any color fins?

Cause I think I've seen one of the blue ones at Petco....

Oh, hey, Terracotta, my one betta I bred myself when I was 5, was a blue cambodian with green and red streaked fins. I never knew his coloration, thanks Toboe! ;P

Oh. I thought he was a Cambodian. XD

XD That picture, it's PRICELESS! I now have a new desktop background, lol.

So, I HAVE been thinking about getting another fish, after doing more research, of course. I've always been fond of betta, so could I maybe ask for some advice on keeping them healthy and such? I don't want it to end up like my goldfish did! XD

Ok guys I need help. I need to know if my one gallon tank is sufficient housing for my male betta. He has a heater and filter and he has nice decor, he has a fake sea anenamoe, small rock cave, and a large blue plant. He seems happy and active but every I look people are saying different things. Some say its big enough, some say they need a two gallon, some say the need a five. :what: he's made bubble nests before and like I said seems very happy and healthy. I even bought him this cute little leaf hammock that attaches to the side of the tank. It's soft and he loves to rest on it and he even blew a few bubbles underneath it. His tank is cleaned once a month and I check the everything out a couple times a week to make sure everything's working. But anyways back to my original question, is he in a big enough tank?

Yup yup that's kinda small especially since all the decorations, heater and filter will make the actual water amount even less. Minimum for a Betta is 2.5, ideally 5 or 10 gallons will make him very happy. It's also much easier to maintain water quality and stuff a larger tank. c: He might be fine in a 1 gallon, like you might be fine living your life in a bathroom or something, that doesn't mean he wouldn't be happier if he had more space to swim. c:
He also needs water changing more than once a month, not completely cleaned out and scrubbed or whatever but part of the water changed every week and waste, left over food removed and such.
You cannot eat love, nor buy a horse with it, nor warm your halls on a cold night

It is too small if you are only cleaning it once a month. Even a cycled tank with a filter needs to be cleaned more than that. I wouldn't even bother filtering and cycling a tank that small, and just do bi-weekly full water changes.

Lost three bettas in the 55 today. I'm in the middle of doing as big of a water change as possible (probably about 95%) and I hope that helps. Death toll is at 11. :(
