Dreams can come true! (Please Post)

Ok, so some of you might remember I said I will be getting a chinchilla, or degus, well, now it changed into the best creature living, a dog.

Before Re-named

The dog is going to be a long-haired german shepherd puppy, and today we had our first visit! There are 5 pups, two males, who unfortunately were already taken, and 3 females, none of them taken. They were all so cute, and REALLY similar, so it was hard to say who's who. All the puppies had different personalities; one was playful, one was boisterous (One who tried to bite off my finger), one quite curious, one was a loner and one was calm. We chose the calm female, as she kept on comming to us, and she didn't bite. It was like she chose us! All the puppies were mostly dark, but each had different blonde markings on their face, and one way you could tell our one apart from her siblings was because she had the lightest face. But to know she's ours the breeder painted her nails blue.

We got Fiona early on Wednesday 12th Sep, and she's adorable. But her personality is totally different, she's noisy, she bites and chases everything. But she is intelligent, as she already learned to do her business on the puppy pads, and starting to learn her name. Don't remember mum's name, but dad's name is Simba/Cimba. Her birthday is 25th July 2012.

Edit 1
One of Fiona's siblings, a male, grabbed my finger, a playful and 'I have your finger! What'cha gonna do about it?' look on his sweet face. I just smiled a bit, as the puppy started jumping back and pulling my finger with him. I looked at one of the three breeder's, and she then told him off. But that was cute!
----------------------------------------------------------------Another Story-----------------------------------------------------------------------------Ah, I am sooooo excited that I am getting a dog that I nearly hadn't slept all night. I finally fell asleep about 11-12 o clock, but then woke up at 2:30. I fell asleep again on 5:15, and then I had to wake up at 6:50 to get ready for school. So tired! :/

Xena

After a couple of days, my mum decided to re-name our newest edition Xena.

2 Wednesdays

Her vaccinations had been done on 2 different Wednesdays, as well as being micro-chipped.

Sunday, 28th October 2012

Xena went for her first walk! She is a bit puzzled and scared, but pretty excited and she jumps like a kangaroo outside.

Tricks Xena knows:
Her name,
Sit,
Stay,
Paw,
Other (Paw),
Lay down,
Roll Over.

Her Best Play Mates are:
Marley the English Springer,
Riley the Cockapoo.

Future:
Get her Spayed
Teach her more tricks
Get her to jump higher than Marley.

Comming Soon!

Oh, that's cool! GSDs are great dogs. What titles do the parents have? Are they work or show or something else? And what kind of health tests did your breeder do? I've heard debate about the effectiveness of OFA hip testing to prevent hip dysplasia, but with a breed like GSDs where it's one of the major health problems to look out for, I'd still consider it a must.
She/her, irregular hours but I'll try to get back to you as fast as I can

We saw the mother and the older sister, but they don't own the father, but if we need then we may get an appointment with the father. As far as I know, the parents are pets, not sure about titles or tests, but that is more upto my father. This is my first puppy! I have been begging for one for a good 6-7 years, but when the furballs started licking and biting and cuddling upto me, it was sure worth it! I know a bit about hip dysplasia, as bigger dogs tend to have it. We are going to do more research and stuff like that during the week.
