I think I would agree with hunting when there is no farming. I disagree with farming also but do we really need to farm and hunt? It's bad enough killing animals, at least with hunting animals get a better life however I will only agree with hunting if farming is gone.
Sorry for my slow response time on RP's. My new job steals ALL my time. :(

Let's be realistic, if we were to abolish farming and depend on hunting alone then we WOULD hunt species to extinction. There is no way wild game alone could support the entire worlds population.

I understand that, that is why people would have to stop eating so much meat. People eat to much meat according to scientists so it would be healthy for people to stop eating so much meat. It would be hard, obviously, but people would be able to survive, vegetarians do, they are generally healthier, obviously I am not saying everyone should veggie.

Many animals in farms suffer, it's a big welfare issue in many ways, even freerange is not the best way of life for an animal. Farming causes more C02 than planes, trains and cars together so we would be saving the planet, well helping it a lot. It takes up so much of the coutryside and causes people to get health issues when they eat too much meat so it's a good thing.

Obviously we would have to be careful about what was hunted. Only take what is needed and don't waste food. We would have to eat meats of animals that there is many of and maybe animals that have overpopulated because of some reason.

It's differcult and hard but is not impossible.

To be honest the conibear (sorry if that's spelt wrong I did look) looks ok And that seems pretty humain way of trapping animal's. Epically if you don't have the time to go wandering to take down a (for example) a diesased racoon that needs to be got red of before it spreads.

*(You spelt it right)

Trapping, usually though, is used for a way to make money. You get an animal, its usually dead when your there / kill it with a .22, and then sell the pelt for money. Not too commonly is it used to killed diseased animals

I am a hunter and we aren't just killing machines and we try to do it as human as possible. Shure foot hold traps break their leg but they fall a sleep right their at the trap. I went hunting this morning and it was snow and cold where I lived but me and my father got up at 4am left the house by 5 got to the game lands by 6 and went in the woods we walked threw snow over logs up and down hills all day and saw fifteen deer not one of them was Legal for us to shoot but we still had fun. Also hunters are very friendly and curtious (well most of us.) we don't all go around saying "yeah I blew that deeds brains out. Bla bla bla." Because we now some people are against it or don't like it also I met my best friend while out in the woods hunting with me dad and it was beacuse we had alot in common.

"but if they're using foot traps they check every 2-3 days depending on what they're trapping."

So the animal with a nearly severed and crushed foot("it gets numb" still:) gets the luxury of having to sit there for days, starving and stressed? How humane.

I don't really like trapping at all - I'm more supportive of gun hunting in lethal areas.

in many areas, it's law to check your traps every 24 hours, depending on the type of trap. though i don't know much about foot traps to be honest, i would like to go trapping, but i'd personally prefer to use a trap that'd kill the animal instantly.

to all of you who trap, how often do you have to check your traps, by law? just curious. i'm honestly not sure about where i live, i've heard many different things, but if i ever did start trapping, i'd check my traps every 24 hours because i'd just be too excited. xD

I trapped last year, and to be honest, i checked it every like 2 weeks XD. But before y'all go jumping down my throat, our trapline was by a friends house, and she checked it. I think she checked it every day, or every other day. Depends on her schedule. This year we're going to try trapping again (maybe, its late in the year and she has to have has surgery so prob. next year) and use mostly snares (Their easier to set) and coni-bears (last time I think we had like 2 foot traps) so we don't have to check quite as often, since it'll probably be further out.

ETA- we caught nothing but a squirrel, which is why we're moving it
