Nothing irritates me more than this, especially because in many states that is actually considered poaching, and if it's not poaching *legally* the residents will still think it is and will shun you. The only time that's ever allowable is when it's population control and only for certain instances, like via aircraft or when smoking out rabbits. However I don't like that at all, so.

Wolfie, wolves have attacked and killed people and destroyed farms and property, and fake fur doesn't always cut it.

Really? In books and everything about wolves it says there has never been a record of a healthy wolf attacking a person in NA. I did hear a wolf pack attacked a zoo keeper in a zoo,but they could've mistakes her as prey,or she upset them in a way. But why people get killed by wolves,I know a way. They messed with them. Maybe, they went in the wolf's territory? [b]Well, whatever they're doing, they're just being a wolf.

[/b
WE'RE JUST BEING HUMANS!

We're HEALTHIER when we eat meat (IMO)
We need to HUNT to get meat, (I hate buying grocery food)
We need to be WARM
To get GOOD fur we need to HUNT

How come everyone would just chalk it up to "Its a wolf being a wolf", WELL WE'RE HUMANS BEING HUMANS.

I... I just can't type enough to express my anger when someone says "A wolf being a wolf"

My friend has had woken up to only a collar left of one of her dogs, and the nearby wolves had their stomachs full. Put 2 and 2 together.

Tell that to the people living in the bush. They would freeze to death if they used faux fur. They hunt regularly, and use every part. They make boots out of the legs of caribou, and use the tails of grouse for their dances.

You know, I could type 30 paragraphs too, how hunting is better then meat indrustry, and faux fur and practically anything else mass produced

What about population control? And what about killing dangerous/destructive wolves that have shown little fear of humans and/or repeatedly prey on livestock? While of course I think people should do their part and not try to do anything to "befriend" or in any way embolden wild animals, especially large predators, and people need to use proper preventative measures to ensure that their livestock are properly protected in the first place, there are sometimes problem animals and if they cannot be deterred, it's best to get rid of them, especially if they pose a substantial threat to humans.

What's wrong with hunting wolves as long as it is done humanely and it does not harm the local population or ecosystem? What's wrong with hunting animals as long as it fits that criteria in general? Especially if they do what they can not to be wasteful and use the fur and meat rather than wasting it? Do you have any solid reasoning, or are your firm convictions based purely on sentiment? It's certainly not because they're more intelligent than other animals. Wild boar are very intelligent, but you don't see nearly as many people running around who fervently believe all wild boar hunting is cruel and it should be stopped. Wild boars are invasive and highly dangerous, but even when wolves present a similar problem, people still want to protect them. The main reason seems to be that they're simply not cute and cuddly and they don't look like doggies. People are less likely to post in their signature about how noble they think boars look and how they have a boar fursona and they abhor boar hunting. Instead, people love to talk about how tasty bacon is, even though domestic pigs are more intelligent than domestic dogs.

As much as I want to agree..

Aren't boars invasive, or just over populated? Either way I can agree.

No, they are invasive. Any species that is overpopulated, nonnative, and is causing harm is invasive. Just like starlings are invasive where I live. They eat food that native birds would usually eat and they will tear apart your house to get inside of it, they are overpopulated also thus making them invasive.

Yes, feral pigs are an invasive species and are highly detrimental to the ecosystems they invade. I mentioned as much. But somehow, I doubt that's why nobody calls to stop wild boar hunting. If wolves became an invasive species, as dogs and cats have in some places, people would still be upset at the idea of attempting to eradicate them. Wolves are romanticized in our culture and they're just plain prettier looking than pigs.

Invasive as in, nonative, overpopulated is invasive, but if its natural there, its a different kind.

Starlings aren't even from america, so if you see a nest you can legally destroy it / hunt them

i just dont think its a good idea to kill the wolf pack, because one pack wont be enough for the people in Washington. they will want to kill the rest of 'em, because they might be the same way as the one they killed. thats what i think.

Exactly! ...its happened before and that's why they ended up on the endangered species list before...if they aren't still on there!

I doubt ranchers, who are going to be concerned more about their livestock and making a profit from said animals, are going to go hogwild killing every single wolf around them after a single pack is killed to help protect their means of income.

Exactly this. Unless you are that person you do not know what they will do until they do it. Their livestock is their income. Those wolves are killing it and they've been trying to prevent it, each of their solutions aren't working and they're running out of options. Wolves that have come accustom to eating livestock are more likely to not want to change to another animal that will be much harder and dangerous to kill. I doubt they wanted to make a big deal about this especially with all the misinformed 'wolf lovers' out there now.

They may be twisted but they have to be smart at least. Well, smart enough. Not exactly 'smart' . Anyone get what I mean? xD

They do...they stick hooks through the dogs snout and sharks aren't ONLY attracted to blood...they are also attracted to movement.
