I saw this video on YouTube about a horse named NorthStar. One day he was peacefully sleeping in his stable, when some terrible person poured flammable liquid on NorthStar and set him on fire. His owners found him in the woods the next morning and apparently he's still recovering. Here's the vid:

:( It's terrible abuse.

He was in a pasture, not in a barn or stall, and it was at night. His family found him in the morning. I agree this is horrible though.

poor boy, who could do such a thing to such a gorguos horse.

EDIT:
my opinion on declawing is that it is good but only if its life and death for the cat. for examle if a cat's owner had absolutly no other way to keep the cat becuase of the rules where they lived. or maybe if it was hurt and needed it. and the last one would be if the owner had treid every other method and the cat still was not trained and still clawed at everything in sight( i have known of people who get well behaved cats declawed because " maybe it will misbehave later" rather than trying to train them.).

So... new lasting-er topic?? How about what they do to chickens. They dump loads of chemical-spiked food into trays for meat birds. The poor little feather pies hardly take 6 steps in their whole life. 7 months and they're off to the slaughter house. And some of the egg layers... My sister said they are locked in little cages until they get out of their major egg-laying stage. I don't know what happens after that, but it's not happy. Of course not all chicken places do that. But it's about the abused birds, not the happy ones. here is a pic:

Yeah I know long link. Did I mention that they clip meat bird's beaks short??

The picture you linked isn't the same as what you're talking about. Those are 'free range' chickens. Also, they clip the tips of their beaks to keep them from pecking at each other. Any animals that are overcrowded will fight and they can't sell whole chickens that are scarred up or have injuries. No one would buy it.

That being said, I disagree with factory farming. I think it's cruel. But, it's necessary to meet demands. If we didn't do it the way we do now, the entire world would primarily be pastures and pens for cows, pigs, sheep, goats etc. Humans wouldn't have much room to live. I still don't agree with it though.

I am unable to look at the pictures at this moment, am on my phone going to college.

I am against farming also, I'm a proud vegaterian. I am more happy about freerange although from what I have seen I'n my opinion it's still not good. The little cages you are on about are Battery Cages, they recently became illegal I'n the UK however there is also the Cage Enriched System which is when more birds are shoved into a slightly bigger space, they have a sand bath and nest area which is actually just astroterth (sorry can never spell that). The chickens basically go in for about a year, lay lots of eggs then are taken out and killed, place is cleaned then it starts again.

The beak cutting is to protect the chickens from getting hurt when fighting, yes it effects the birds, they can't eat propperly and if you cut it to short it hurts the bird but the UK law states it had to be done in battery cages.

I am glad battery cages are illegal I'n my country, they were cruel. The new cafe enriched is basically a large battery cage as they just shove more birds in. Freerange I think is okay. I personally don't agree with the chickens producing so many eggs though, I'n the wild they would only lay about three eggs a year, in farms some lay about three a day!

Three eggs a MONTH? My chickens lay about one every day! Well, that's a new fact. About the picture, It isn't very free-range to me. They are all squished together. But, if you say so. And I meant what you said about battery hens beaks; they only clip the tips. It still is shorter... Well, whatever. Same, same. 8-)
