Micheal Vick Debate

Postby Kayleigh' » Sun Jul 15, 2012 1:04 am

Today I saw a picture of a pit-bull that was hung on Facebook, the caption was saying about a football player, Micheal Vick, who used to run a dog fighting ring for 5 years. He hung, shot, electrocuted and drowned dogs. He got something like 21 months in prison and is still respected even though he committed all those sick crimes. And, on top of that, he is still allowed to keep dogs.

Personally, I think he should have been in prison for longer, and he should not be able to keep any pets.
I have no respect for him what so ever. What about you?

Are you anti Micheal Vick or with him?

I do not think Michael Vick should have been allowed to return to football making millions of dollars after what he did. I also do not think he got a large enough prison sentence and in my opinion should never be allowed to own another pet. I am so tired of "celebrities" getting the easy way out when they do something wrong.

There is a book about the Vick dogs who survived but I cannot remember the name of it right now. I read it about a year ago. It was a very touching book that made me cry.

Agreed.
Say in an average person like your or me where to commit such crimes, we would have a longer sentence and have heavier bans.

I'm glad some of the dogs could be saved and rehabilitated so they could find good homes.

But I absolutely despise Micheal Vick. I also despise the companies that sponsor him despite what he did and that he was allowed to return to football. His 'apology' was only to save his career. He didn't mean it. He's probably back to doing what he did before and I won't be surprised if they find him connected to dog fighting once again.

I just now saw the video of his 'apology' on YouTube, that was so fake! He was clearly doing it to save his career, as you said.

I also watched the video about the dogs that got rehabilitated, and some even became therapy dogs.

Imo there is no debate. :P
He's a horrible person who I don't think deserved to go back. He's...evil, more or less. PETA as much as him. (They wanted to euthanize every dog, they are anti pibble and strong supporters of BSL) Thank goodness the ASPCA got in there. C:

I think that he simply shouldn't have pets and shouldn't still be a pro football player, but I do not agree that his apology was fake. I don't think his apology was real either, I think that really only he knows if he truly feels bad for what we did and no matter what we will never truthfully know. For all we know he could be truly ashamed of what he had done and feel horrible or he might not really care and had made all of it up. We are not him so I don't think that we are in any position to say if he meant it or not. I hate him nonetheless but I think it is wrong to assume he didn't mean that he felt bad for what he did when for all we know he does.

The book that I mentioned in my previous response is called The Lost Dogs. It is a heart breaking and heart warming story about the Vick dogs that survived.

Personally I have always hoped that the all of the poor dead dogs would come to life as zombies and eat him alive, but that seems a bit unreasonable. I can still hope though.

That would be amazing~

I, personally, think that he should have been kicked out onto the streets and everyone should be able to stick him with a cattle proad (Spelling?) whenever they see him. It would be wonderful revenge and it would make a great example of what happens when you mistreat dogs.
People like Vick make me want to go buy a dog, train it to kill on comand, and then attack them.
