That sounds about right, plus there's some stuff to put on if it gets wet or rained on, and wipe any dirt off after you ride. Like our arenas get really dusty in the air, coating everything with dust, so it's good to just wipe that off with a cloth or something.

Oh okay, yeah that sounds fine. I just cleaned it yesterday, since I didn't clean it before then ;D But it's a good idea to just wipe it off after every ride, since our arenas get pretty dusty too, and my tall boots come home with a coat of dust xDD Since my saddle is used though, for now should I clean it pretty often or still not? It's in good condition, but it is still a used saddle....

Give it a good oil, mine came with my horse and I still don't clean it too often. Think you don't wash your horse every day cuz it takes all the oils out of his coat same with a saddle (except that a saddle doesn't have a coat) if your worried buy a seat saver, I love mine and it stops alot of wear and tear.
btw Mandy-Lou22 is soooo amazing wanna give her a massive hug
also thank you to Asura for giving me my dream pet
also thank you to AiraSkylar for giving be the 08 advent of my dreams
another thank you to ~Amberleaf~ who gave me 3 free rares!

I don't have any oil right now >.< I am really hoping to go out to Dover sometime soon and get some cleaning supplies. I guess I will stick to cleaning it every two-weeks then, unless I have a show coming up or it got really dirty. Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it <3

@ Sheepcat: He's lovely!

I think Navajo would suit him, or maybe Antares (meaning 'red').

I don't know what you had in mind.

I used to ride. Haven't for a couple of years now, but am thinking of taking it back up again.

Rode several horses and ponies over the years, but one of them sticks in my mind. He was a 14:2 hh bay called Ben. He was possibly a New Forest mixed with something that had the build of a cob, and a fairly stocky one at that. Sweet guy on the ground, and to ride (once I managed to get him going!), but he did have a few fears.

He hated noisy vehicles, like tractors, large lorries and motorbikes. We did have a motorbike go past us once, which he wasn't too happy about. His main problem though, was things coming out of hedgerows unexpectedly. Birds, rabbits, you name it, he got startled by it.

He got sold on a few years after I started riding him, and went to a new yard.

Willow might not be able to do the April show anymore. D:

She's been having some problems with her right hind and hip lately, not lameness, but more of a persistent stiffness. She's already on Aloe, but it's not really helping. My trainers thought that it was just from the weather changes, but she's had this pain for a few weeks now without much change, so they think it's something else. We've given her some bute, but it just made her uncomfortable, so we don't want to give her anymore of that. The chiropractor is coming out to see her this week, maybe that will help.
I rode her yesterday, but just very light flatwork so that her hip wouldn't get overly stressed. She feels like how she did when we first got her, which is not good at all. She had improved SO much, and now it kinda feels like we're back at square one. I feel so bad for her; I really hope that this is nothing serious. She's such a sweet little mare, I adore her. ;_;

I am so sorry to hear that D': That's terrible. Hopefully it isn't anything too serious though. That stinks that it feels like your back to the beginning with her >.< At least the chiropractor is coming out soon, so you can find out what's wrong with Willow. I hope that Willow gets better and that you can show her in April.

I have some upsetting news too. I was supposed to show this Saturday at my stable, and my dad planned a trip >.< Not only do I not get to show, but they are giving away DOUBLE points that day! Double points that will count towards year end awards D'x I want to just cry right now. I know it's not a huge deal, but we weren't supposed to go anywhere in the first place. Plus, my best friend who also rides is coming up today and was supposed to see me show. I am trying not to be upset about it, but it's so hard! If it was a regular show, than it would be different -- but it's not!

Today's lesson wasn't so good... It wasn't bad either, but I felt at the end of it like there was still something missing. :? We started with loose reins again, this time walk-stop transitions without reins. Heta was pretty well up in the Lala-land so I had to use reins to get even noticed in the first place... After a while she got better and listened my seat, voice and tiny jiggle of reins. Though she was being super inconsisted, like one halt goes really well and the next one is a mess... Then we did the trot-walk thing like yesterday, Heta was super. She would even slow down when there was someone right infront of us. My instructor let us walk before others as we got it so fast. Then she got me and Heta on a really small circle around her. The idea was to get her leg yield some, but in the end we just focused on my seat and hands when I bend her. I sort of like when I she helps me out really close, but it also confuses me when she sort of 'rides' for me by grabbing my hand or rein for while and at the same time tells me what to do... Seems like my hips are crooked somehow, when I feel like I have my weight on left it's not. I also have tendancy to push my elbows back when I take with the rein. Sigh... Still so much to fix. We took some tolt after that, Heta was nice first and then not so nice. She's still slightly resisting the bit sometimes and the half-halts aren't getting there always. Though my instructor said that out of the horses on the lesson(3 plus us) Heta listens to my aids the best. That suprised me a bit as it wasn't the best day for us.
Tomorrow Heta is getting a relaxing day, trot and canter first with me on the arena and then a walk with my friend on her back.

I think most of us are having lessons and some also own horses. What kind of horses do you have?
Can we pretend that the airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?

9 days until the show. I only have 2 more lessons before the show. Hopefully no one else will ride Cowboy, but with my luck, they will.
Gah, only two more lessons to get him to turn tighter around the barrels!!!!!!
