Whoever asked me which one I chose, I think it was Dolphin; I chose the one with the big dressage arena and XC course- the first one I went to see.

It went pretty well. I rode in a dressage saddle for the first time on a Thoroughbred named Joe. He's a trained dressage horse, but also does hunter/jumper, which is what I'm aiming to do. He apparently knows flying changes and how to do a half pass though.

I learned so much that I was never taught before, it's really formal riding, what I'm learning now, more so than just learning to stay on, if you know what I mean.
I'm definitely going to feel this tomorrow... everywhere. xD I had such a good time, though- my trainer really knows her stuff.

I'm also considering doing a lease there and not with Charm anymore. It's horribly sad but it's what I need to do to look towards my future. Charm is a great horse, but he just doesn't have the knowledge and the barn doesn't have the facility I need. I'm looking for doing an equestrian minor and be on the team in college, and that's two years away, and I wasn't aware at how little I knew because I've never been taught this formal riding really, mostly just group lessons and other lessons that focused more on the horse and not me.

But anyway, I got video! They will come soon if anyone has made it to the bottom of my post and wants to see... xD

@About trailering: I don't own a trailer or neither does the stable so every time someone wants to take their horse to somewhere they rent one. Now renting costs. One day is 50 €, 3 days(=weekend) 120€ and whole week 250€. Then you still need to add up the gas... Then finding good rental trailers can be bit challenging. My instructor kinda paid me 90€ for driving her mare home. I could have settled for half as that's how much the gas costed, but she insisted and I didn't complain as I had bit of tight spot then financially. But then again pulling a trailer is harder for the car and wears it down faster, so I guess it was okay.

And guess who's horse just got herself most likely couple days off? Yup mine. Appearently today when one person went to pick up her horse from their paddock, for some reason when they walked past Heta she lunged towards the horse and bit her on the rump. Now of course the other horse would react, which in this case was kicking Heta. Then I come in later, not knowing what happened, and go pick Heta from the paddock, take the rug off and start grooming her. Then I notice this cut on her, on the boarder of her breast and shoulder I guess. It's about 2-3cm long and maybe 5mm deep, but really neat cut that didn't seem to bleed much. I showed it to L and she agreed that there wasn't much that could be done to it other than cleaning it.
I probably could have gone and ridden, as it wasn't sore nor was Heta lame, but the cut is on a area that would then move a lot and possibly slow down the healing. So I just walked her little and then took her inside as I did not want her to get the wound dirty or cause another fight... L is cutting the paddock in half and Heta gets the other half for herself. It's kinda sad as the mares so far had no fights what so ever... But I guess Heta has always been bit odd around other horses, or at least after the first move with me.
Can we pretend that the airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?
I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now...

Today, only a few hours ago, Fleur lost her life.
She was quite an old horse, but not long before she died she was trotting about the field. Her death was so unexpected and so far I don't know what caused it. Though she wasn't used in the riding school, Fleur was an amazing and beautiful horse and gave life to six foals, three of which are still kept at the riding school, and she went far too soon. Please pray for her, as she will be greatly missed.

    Rest in peace, Fleur <3

@Pep: You're welcome! I am just glad that the advice was useful. That's fine and understandable and it takes a while to get used to jumping, especially on a horse that overjumps and launches himself into the air xD Oh that was fine that your reins were long, because it is really important not to catch a horse in the mouth when jumping. That is super uncomfortable and it causes discomfort for the horse. That was good on your part, but as you learn how to release and have a better feel of the jump, then you can shorten your reins and release instead of having them super long :3 Good job overall though!

I jumped him again today, started off with just a pole on the ground, he did a little jump over it a couple of times then calmed down. then a jump got put up and the first time he jumped it he jumped it quite nicely, he didn't really launch himself into the air as much. Then the next couple of times he just trotted over it, so he's getting the picture :)

I have a novel right here. (:

So, my lesson was great! Jumping was fantastic. We got a few icky distances but this is only my third course jumping lesson so I'm still not too great about getting correct distances.
But... guys. I jumped. A two foot six. Oxer. o.o TWO. FOOT. SIX. OXER.
I jumped two of them. A 2ft6 or 2ft3 gate to the oxer, and a 2ft3 - 2ft vertical to a 2ft6 oxer.
And, even better... I jumped it well. No getting left behind! He took off long a few times but I did get a good distance or two in. (: I am just so exited that I jumped that high! Of course, I still have a million thousand things to work on, but that really made my day. I just can't believe I did it.
I'm not saying my lesson didn't have flaws, though. xD I just don't want to tell you all about the bad parts.

Then, near the end, it started getting really windy. We cantered over a 2ft vertical, and then suddenly the wind blew a pile of poles over.
Riley freaked out. He leaped into the air and started galloping. I almost fell of, but somehow kept myself calm. Honestly, I'm not sure how in the world I stayed calm. I didn't loose my stirrups, they just slid really far back on my foot, so I just went into half seat, circled, half halted, and talked to him.
When he leaped I accidentally said "Oh no" in a very calm voice, even though I was freaking out inside. I'm really proud of myself for controlling him, the poor guy. I made sure to hose him down super well after the lesson. I was literally shaking, so my instructor let us quit on that. He wasn't spooking on purpose - he isn't the type of horse to do that. He was legitimately scared.

I've come to the conclusion that Riley spooks at loud, unusual sounds and things. You think? xD Spooking when a horse hit a fence, spooking at a shadow at twilight, spooking at a water bottle falling in front of him... the list goes on and on. xD

So then I spent a few hours braiding Winnie's mane and getting her ready for the show tomorrow.

Guys. I want more videos of me riding! All of my jumping lessons have not been on video, except for our first lesson. D: My mom has been very busy lately. But you'll get pictures and maybe video from the show on Sunday, and my dad is coming to take pictures of my lesson on Saturday!

And, I have some spectacular news. Guess who's showing with Riley on November 4th? Me! We're going to be showing in either beginner or novice at a schooling show at my farm. It'll be a great chance to show him for the first time and get used to showing him in the comfort of my own farm.

So I am quite happy today. (: I love Riley so much. He's honestly my life.
I just love him.
So much.
<3

And guys... I'm developing an independent seat. I honestly probably could've cantered in half seat without hands today. I didn't, of course, but I could've. Okay now that I think about it, maybe not. xD But I bet I could post the trot without hands! My half seat is getting tons better... I really feel in control, and I almost never get off balance now. Plus, I felt like I was really doing half seat. Like, kind of bobbing... I don't know how to explain it. I felt like we were just one thing. I was completely moving with him.

Ugh. I need to polish my boots for tomorrow.
Wait, yay! I love polishing boots!
