Dolphinlover~ wrote:I just got some really good ideas. Since a lot of are making lovely threads for our beloved horses and want art for them, I was thinking of maybe around the holiday times we could do a secret santa sort of thing where someone can run it and then we just randomly get assigned someone that we can make art of their horse for <3 I think it would be a good way to get art and make someone smile. It could be any form of art too like a poem, drawing, painting, song, clay model, etc.
Also, I was thinking about maybe making a CS show team where we can post about all of our showing accomplishments and and like keep a log of the shows we do and stuff. Just a thought though (:
Secret santa! Cutest idea ever! I'd love to be part of that.
Hano's right about a lot of people not showing, but it could be extended to a horse log in general...not for every lesson, of course, but a compilation of the major stuff. :3
And here's another thought: I've been wanting for a while to do a collab with all the horses on this thread. You guys all know how a collab works...I might draw Rosie and add Hano to color in, she could put Kat in the picture and then add weibke to color in, etc. It might look nice on the front page, although I'm not sure if there are enough people who draw horses. :3
Hano, I loved both your picture and your video. I'm going to critique them both now, but keep in mind I absolutely loved them. I'm not critiquing 'cause I think they're bad. Mmkay? :3
The photo: the conformation only looks off 'cause of the shine in the eye. Move it up and back a little so the horse looks like he's looking off into the distance. A little detail to the ear wouldn't hurt either, but I have a feeling you were probably sick of drawing at that point. xD The nose is the best part--it's really beautiful.
The video: Aasl;dkfj backwards bending. That is, like, my ultimate pet peeve, probably because I'm so guilty of it. I know Kat is still a little green, though, so that can be proclaimed not your fault. :3 Other than that Dolphin is right about the pulling yourself out of the saddle at the trot...but that also could have been general stiffness and slowness on Kat's part. I love his canter. o_o You're really a talented rider!

I didn't go to the stable today, but I found something out that depressed me a little: Rose is listed on my stable's website as "for sale". I e-mailed my instructor about it (we e-mail. She's fairly young, and I consider her to be a friend as well as a teacher), and she said "Oh yeah. You didn't know that? Sorry, Flitter...I kind of assumed you had seen that before...we probably won't be carting her off any time soon, but she's a nine year old Thoroughbred. She may make a good lesson horse, but if a better home comes along...she deserves that. You can keep working with her as long as she's here, ok?"
I don't know what I'll do if Rose gets sold. There are only two other lesson horses at my stable, and one is just thirteen hands...I think I'd seriously consider leaving. I almost did when Max died, and if I lost Rose too, my stable just wouldn't have much for me. I'm not going to be all morbid, though...nothing has happened yet. So far, I'm fine. :3
Here's Rosie's sale ad:
Moonlight and Roses (Rose) is a sweet, 9 year old TB, ~15 h. She is uncomplicated w-t-c and loves to jump. Trail rides alone and with others. Quietly walks through the fields on the buckle. Currently in training.
And best of all! The ad comes with photos! They completely don't do Rosie justice, though...she has the prettiest, daintiest face in real life. And better conformation. But here they are...
Rose honey! You have your body at the weirdest angle!Just admiring the pad and the indoor...Another oh-come-on-you're-prettier-than-that moment.
