@Flitter: That is really horrible. I'm really sorry for your loss. But glad the fire didn't take more lives than three, though all of the lost horses will be missed dearly... *hugs* The person who's horses also died and who was part of the reason the fire started, I don't know how to feel about it. I mean she must feel horrible as her horse died and it actually is her fault, not just the usual quilt many get for things that they really had no control over, so I kinda feel sorry for her. But then again what she and her boyfriend did, and didn't do, I can't accept. She should have let her boyfriend know smoking is not okay in the stable or preferably even close to it.
We had a really bad stable fire last fall in our country. All of it's 12 horses died... And the cause is unknown, most likely some electric machine broke causing sparks or heat...

Toppy: I'm sorry that other riders are like that at your barn. It bothers me when things are just handed to people. I normally have to work my butt off or prove to my parents that I can do something.

favorite chores: hosing down, turning out I love seeing them gallop away and play with the other horses, helpinh people tack/untack

least favorite: probaly lifting hay. If I don't where gloves my hangs get read and puffy.

I don't watch much equestrian events to be honest. Part of the reason I don't show myself and our tv chanels never, or very very rarely, show anything other than harness racing. And if they show something it's cut and shortened a lot. Though twice they showed the Badminton eventing's cross-country in whole and some Nations Cup, but that was looooong time ago and then we still had a free sport chanel. *get's all nostalgic*
So yeah. But if I could/would watch I would like to watch dressage Kür, cross-country and gaits. XD Though western in general seems pretty instresting to watch as well, but I don't know a thing about it. Honestly watching other people have lessons is the most interesting thing to watch for me, unless I'm watching some show with other people and talking about the performances. My attention span is also kinda limited when it comes to watching something, which is why when in most dressage and show jumping people keep doing the same course I get bored... Cross-country has the speed and danger effect in it and it's also shot so that you aren't just watching one pair the whole time they are on the course. Gaits I just love and want to learn more so they manage to keep my attention.

My god! my mom fell off the New Forest xFriesian. the owner said it was trained, but it really wasnt! it was even not ride able! my mom only did give him a soft spade , and it did run away, and it did suprisingly stopped,and reared!
now her schoulder is broken.. :l poor mommy.. :[

How tall was the horse? That sucks! Prayers to your mom for a speedy recovery. They should have said that it was trained when it wasn't and if they didn't know, then they should have read into the horses history.

The owner should have ridden the horse first to demonstrate it's training. Never ride a horse that the owner won't walk/trot/canter/etc. first.

i have no idea how invhes work in english, so , it was just a little bit smaller than a normal friesian mare, maybe 3cm or something..and, thank you, i also hope that she recoveres fast c:
