Dolphin- oh my gosh those are crazy rain stories! xD yeah luckily he was pretty calm but would not stand still. Which it really, really, REALLY weird for him lol. There was this huge mud puddle by the front closed arena enterence. We all had to go around it because t would be a pain to clean out there hoofs with then deeply caked in mud. The day of the big storm was the same day for evolutions, and if your not there, there keep you in the same level, thankfully I came and passed with high marks too it was kinda funny. Furring the lesson my mom went out to get a wedding present for someone, and wasn't back by the time we finished. It started rainining again really had to I put captain in his stall and ran out to the covered area by the parking lot thinking my mom will see me. But noooo she drove right passed me and my waving arm lol so I finally got her attention, but I got socked anyway lol

Thanks I can't wait to do this session. After that I'm going to find somebody to lease from!!!!! I kinda like riding in the rain. We always ride outdoors, in the ring the has the jumps in it, but we don't get to use them

Oh man I have SO many rain stories. At my old stable, it seemed that every time we had a huge ride come in, it would start pouring as soon as we get everyone off, so then we'd have to take the saddles off of 15+ horses. And it never goes from nothing to light rain to medium rain to pouring. It just goes straight to pouring. Or, when we go on a fun ride, I always managed to have Oscar, who absolutely HATES rain. Or, if I wasn't on Oscar, I'd have the super expensive Dressage saddle. I bad bad luck with rain. The last time I rode there, I was on Oscar with the dressage saddle and it poured while we stopped for lunch. Luckily I thought to take it off before we went inside.

@ Rain, that's funny, that Riley is a bay. At the place where Rez is, they also have a bay named Riley. Not a TB, but he looks like one.

Speaking of Rez, I STILL have not gotten ahold of them. Sent another e-mail, and hopefully that'll work. But I do know that Rez is still available. Found that out on Facebook when I commented on his picture.
Speaking of pictures... Rez on the right! Still haven't found a picture of his other side. But his face is cute. Saw it on the news (they ran an article on this place- that's how I found it.). He's got a wide blaze that kinda jags off on top of his left eye and below his right. SO CUTE


But still, I'm wondering why I like this horse so much. I've never done anything with him. I don't even know what his left side looks like!

This saddle does fit both of us.
It's one of my barn friend's old saddles.
I rode in it for the show and my trainer liked how it looked.
So it's good.

I could probably show in Green Hunter, which is 2'.
Or Low Hunter which is 2'3
But we'll probably show in Green.
Gem isn't really 'green'
But she hasn't been showed much.
You know, the occasional show here or there, but never something like this.
So we could enter the Green Hunter class....

Hey, have I missed anything important? Tell me if you wanted me to see something, cause I read the last two pages but skipped 10 before that because I figured I didn't want to read it all after being away for a few days.

Oh, rain? HA. HAHA. HA. No.

There is a reason why my stable has an indoor, a covered, and why the outdoor arena is only able to be ridden in a few weeks a year.

My city is KNOWN for being rainy. People that don't live here, living in other places, comment on it being rainy. Average annual percipitation is about 160 days, 44 inches or 1110 mm. A few years ago, we broke the record for the most rainy days in January. Of 31 days, it rained 29. It doesn't POUR most days, but it's a constant rain. Other places sometimes get their rain big amounts at a time, instead, we get it as a constant mediocore rain from about October-May. And then some more. And in the winter, if it's not rainy, it's cloudy. We can go for a few weeks without seeing the sun. The winters are so DARK. It starts getting dark at like 3:30 some days. We didn't even really have summer until the first week or two of July this year. It sucks. Welcome to the world of constant wet horse blankets and barely hearing your trainer over the rain on the roof. It makes the arena pretty much a giant drum.

Honestly, I am no stranger to rain. Most of the stables around here have their main arena be a large indoor. Some days it's still mostly dark when I walk to school at about 10 past 8.

I'm really not in the mood for writing because I'm very crabby, and I'll post a rant later because I have a quite important one. And no, it doesn't have to do with riding at all.
Anyways, my ride today was awesome! I'll write a description of it if someone wants me to. I learned how to lunge with side reins and Winnie was very responsive because of that. Jumping was great, I memorized a ton of courses and did them so I'm very happy about that.
Anyways, here comes (sadly) the highlight of my day. I was in the tack room getting my lunch, and once I had my lunch I took the 'long way' out, a.k.a seeing all of the horses. I said all of their names, and Rhummy even nickered at me.
And then, who do I see but my number one guy standing in the cross ties? Oh man, I had to literally grab the stall bars of a stall to keep myself from petting him. So then I gave in and asked the farm owner's daughter if I could pet Riley.
I think she knows that I know what I'm doing, so she said sure.
I swear I petted him for five minutes. And I could've for a million, but I didn't want... to, you know, get in trouble.
Ohmygosh I hugged Riley twice. He loved it. His ears were perked, he looked happy for once, he didn't flinch or anything. I ran my hands down his legs, on his stomach, his neck, his shoulder, his sides, his back, his face... he's the literally perfect height. His withers are about high as my head, which is perfect for me. He is so sweet! But his face is so dirty... I swear it was so hard to keep myself from cleaning his face.
I love him so much, and by the way my luffles for Riley has a lot to do with my rant.

@Rain: yay im glad you got to see Riley, i still think its weird they wont let you touch a horse. Do you just take lessons at the place or do you actually groom and take a care of the horses?

If I've ridden the horse, basically I'm allowed to pet them... like with Rhumba... I can go into his stall, you know. But I've never ridden Riley so I guess I can't pet him. D:

@ Mr.Milo, Yep, that one's Rez. Isn't he just adorable? He's all special though- in every picture of him, it's his right side.

@ Rain, that really is weird. And who's putting him in the cross ties? His owner? Or someone else. If it's his owner, you should really go talk to her. If she has however many horses to take care of, I'm sure she wouldn't mind you grooming her horse for her on occasion.
