Yeah, I guess I'm not allowed to pet Riley. D: I still will, though.
Oh my gosh, you're encouraged to brush random horses? I would be so happy if I got to even hug Riley. I would faint if I got to groom/wash him, and I would die if I got to ride him.
I'm convinced that he'll be put up for half-lease soon, and this is why.
So lets say that his owner's name is... G, for girl. So G owns five horses... two ponies, a 2-3 year old who isn't trained under saddle, Riley <3, and another horse who I shall call H for horse. She went to [insert name of foreign country here] to import a fancy Warmblood.
First of all, she barely ever rides Riley any more because she rides H mainly. When her new import comes in, she's not going to be riding Riley at all, and will probably barely ride H. Honestly, it will be hard to actively ride three horses, especially because she's just in high school. So my reasoning is that they'll lease/half lease Riley out to someone so that Riley can be exercised a lot, but they can still own him. That way she would only have to worry about riding the import and H.
However, my mother was talking to G's mother, and apparently G's mother might start riding Riley. :/ That kind of makes me a little upset... you know? Because I think that G's mother might be a beginner or a sort of beginner. And I think Riley deserves someone who is riding because she loves Riley, and because she loves riding, not someone who just rides so that Riley get's exercised.
That doesn't make much sense, but oh well. At least G and her mother are very nice, so I know that Riley is in good hands.

That's such a weird rule at your barn... all of our boarders love it when they get to the barn to find their horse nice and clean and shiny.

Maybe you could talk to G and her mom about how much you like RIley? Like drop hints like, "Wow, Riley is so handsome! What breed is he? Looks like a TB" and "When I get a horse someday, I want him to be just like Riley" and "Do you think it's going to be hard to have to ride 3 horses and your ponies once H gets here?"
They might bring up half-leasing him on their own if you show some interest in him. C: I'm sure that they would prefer a half lease over having the mom ride him because then their horse still gets exercised yet they get paid for it.

I've already told my instructor things like "Oh my goodness Riley is so cute! I wish he was mine," and stuff like that, and my mom and I (yes, my MOM and I) have told my instructor to contact us if Riley is ever put up for half lease. I have hope!
They're... well, really rich so I don't think money matters much... but why not make someone the happiest girl in the world while at the same time getting some more cash and getting a horse exercised and shown?

@Rain: haha im glad you saw riley today next time you should hide with him in his stall sneakily petting him! XD

@Dolphin: Awww that is great dolphin, Mulliagn seems like a really nice horse. I cant believe you rode in the rain though...i hate the rain and riding in it would be the owrse thing for me! DX

@Tanner: that is soooo cool i wish i can ride where you are at now...i havent been on a trail ride in years!

@Riley2 (i put a two because i commented on a previous post you made):That is so not fair, your just petting him. I hope you get to ride hime again though and i do hope they put him up for lease!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dumb school why cant you pass by faster! Anyway im hoping that ill get a chance to ride Bertthis saturday the stable owner usally lets you ride any horse that is not owned by someone or that is not new to the rescue. Im not sure if ill ride western or english though since Bert can do both.

I really wanted to respond to as many post as i could. I really like reading your stories and news of upcoming events!^^

First off, thanks everybody for giving me grate advice :)

Dolphin- thanks, it so awful and awkward not to smell like horses for so long lol! Yeah, from my siggy you can tell I have some joint issues, so I have to do PT six day a week, along with that I take my dog for a walk almost everyday, and I try to fit in crunches or push-ups often. Oh I know, sometimes I have to his my huge smile after she gives me a good complement if the person who just did the course badly. Okay, I'll check out IRH and CO helmets, thank you :) my parents are paying for the helmet and coat, but I'm buying everything else.

Happy- my barn has Troxal's...I think lol. I like the schooling helmets, but the velvet one look so nice! I might just get a schooling helmet and but a velvet cover on it. That would probably be a lot cheaper.

Hano- consignment shops/room are my best friends :) I got my jods and boot there, for wonderful prices (ariat boots for 90 and like new jods for 30) my aunt is a seems trice so it would be very easy to adjust it, and I'm all for it. I ordered a light pink show shirt from Smartpak, but it hasn't come yet....I put the order in and paied the bigging of Augest so I'm calling them tomorrow.

Rain- what a strange rule.....but I know what you mean. *story time :)* a while ago me and two of my friends got to the barn and got our rains and helmets, but the horses weren't at the cross ties yet ( we're not aloud to get them our selves :/ ) so we were just in the barn talking, and petting this pony, who by the way I've ridden, and this vollenter came up to us and was like,"you can't pet the horses with out your instructor present!! You have to be waiting by the cross ties!" So we were calm and everything and said sorry (even though we were harming anything,) and walked out and stood my the cross ties. *end story time lol*

yiiisssss
got a picture of my practically dirt-free (but yet to be conditioned) western saddle o3o

only took like four hours to clean. q-q
Keep in mind that it's been sitting in a barn for 20 years. And it still looks this good.

@Hano: Yeah Sunday's lesson was fantastic. The dressage was super fun, I really enjoyed it and it seems like Mulligan did too :3 My lessons are one hour but I guess if we need extra time my trainer doesn't rush to end the lessons, which is another thing I love about her <3 My old barn ended exactly at 5:00 on the dot (and the 1 hour lesson includes bridling time, mounting 6-8 people, walking to the ring, and walking back to the barn. So it's really only 30-45 minutes of riding time). How long are your lessons? They probably sound long because my trainer tries to get a lot done in them lol xD
I will probably upload the pictures tomorrow when I get a chance ;D

Yeah sadly it is $2,000 for each HITS and I am very grateful to have gone to two already. Wow your shows are still pretty expensive! Usually we just do the shows at my barn which are around $250, so not that bad, and then there is the occsional A rated show and off farm show which is more. Yes, I know I am very lucky and I am exretremely grateful for everything that my parents pay for <3
Me too :3

It was a very nice hack, and actually when it was misting it felt quite nice xD
Yeah I am, but the beach is a ton of fun and luckily I won't be missing much since 5 days isn't close to as bad as two weeks. After that though I think my half lease is over ;-; Just curious, what are your plans for you and Kat this school year? Like how many days are you riding him? Are you still planning on paying for the half lease? I just want to get a feel for how much time I will have to ride and stuff :3

Woah you get to groom random horses? Awesome! I would love to do that. Once, when I was working at the barn, my trainer had me brush the two new boarder horses, Mac and Beric, which was super fun but that was the only time. It's good to know that my trainer allows me to groom boarder horses and stuff, I also took Savannah's sheet off once xD Not as interesting but it still involved a boarder horse lol.

@Mr. Milo: Mulligan is the most amazing horse I have ever ridden and I am so grateful that my trainer is letting me ride him, especially since he is a boarder not one of her lesson horses :3 I love him sooo much, as you can probably tell. Actually, if you think me riding in the misting rain today is bad that you would have hated to be at the show I went to in April -- torrential downpours and I had to jump a COURSE in that. Not a hack, not flatwork, an A show and jumping a course. That was pretty bad, but actually kind of fun now that I think of it and a good experience. Luckily I was riding Woody who didn't care about the rain but Mulligan probably would have been going nuts considering he didn't like it when the rain got harder xD

Mulligan, you make my world go round and I can't stand to see you go.
I'm going to miss you like crazy and I love you to pieces.
You are the love of my life and will always occupy a huge portion of my heart.
I want you to know how much I love you, and our 6 months together have been the best 6 months of my life.
You have been a dream come true and I have been on cloud nine since we first met.
I will never forgot all of the amazing times we've had together.
Enjoy your new home and promise me this, that you will never forget me, as I will never forget you.

I'll respond to everyone tomorrow.

Oh my gosh!
I am the proud owner of this lovely saddle!

We drove the 2 hours to the tack shop.
It was huge.
Five rooms just for saddles.
Two for breyers.
One just for supplements, one for boots, one for brushes.
Oh my gosh, we got lost for half an hour trying to find each other.

We didn't like any of the ones we looked at.
So I ended up buying W's saddle, who came along with us.
And I....
I'm just so excited.
This is the nicest thing ever.....

I've already cleaned it and conditioned it.
Plus I bought a cushioned seat saver, so it won't get scratched.
Eep!

@ Horse-girl123: Congrats on that beautiful saddle! I can only dream of affording such a fine piece of tack! Wow, that tack store sounds like equine HEAVEN. Would very much like to go. o3o I think I'd pass out! lol! Nice!

@ Dolphin: My lessons start at the time we get on to the time we get off, so a solid hour of riding, tacking and untacking, etc, excluded from the lesson times, so that's good. And we also get to ride some extras if we do some work and have the time!
Can't wait for the pics!
Wow, shows are really expensive! The most expensive show I've done was $76! lol.

@ tiny: wow, what an old beauty you have! The detailing is exquisite, congrats on that. What a steal.

@ bluebird: Sorry about that whole crossties incident lol! I hate embarrassing moments like that when someone of 'authority' drives you insane with their stupid rules...

@Mr. Milo: Hope you get to ride Bert! What kind of horse is he? I used to ride a horse named Bert, he was a black and white paint pony and spooked at anything that moved, I really did not enjoy riding him! But I'm sure your Bert is a bit more well-behaved! And I know what you mean about school--I cannot WAIT til Friday!

@raindrop: What does Riley look like? It sounds like you have that deadly connection with a horse you've never ridden, and my how I hate them. You treat the horse like any other horse you've ridden, shower him with love, try to spend as much time with him, and long to ride him...Don't give up hope though! I had admired this Arab gelding Shadow since day 1, and I eventually got to ride him, so it can happen, even though he may be owned by someone else now. You just have to remember to not be too selfish; Riley is G's family's horse, and for now you have to accept it. Maybe you can ask G if you can pet Riley sometimes? She sounds nice, I bet she'd say it's okay.Who knows, maybe G's mom won't like Riley and soon enough, no one will be riding him, and then he'll be put for half-lease? Anyways, I have this kind of love affair with this 3 year old ubroke Welsh gelding Emmit. All I can do for now is shower him with love <3

@ Hano: GREEN PONIES YEAH! *high five* I can join the club now! I'm finally riding a green pony, and a mare at that! I almost never ride mares! Anyways! I'm so proud of us and Patsy! We got 3 flying lead changes in our last course on Saturday, something that's really quite hard for Patsy and that she often hates doing! I just hld her straight and voila, she got it. I'm so proud of her. She's getting less cranky each time I ride her! She only bucks 2 or 3 times during a lesson! They aren't even malicious bucks, just irritated bucks, mostly when we're circling, or when I first ask for a canter. But that's just Patsy, being sassy.xD Typical. Anyways, how are you and Kittybug doing?! Do tell!

@ Happy the Cat: Sounds like a great lesson! Rosie's a gorgeous little mare and I love her saddle pad too! I'm glad you had a good ride. I always get a rush of happiness when my horse stands still for mounting, which is usually quite an accomplishment!

yay big post!
