Okay I think I've caught up. I re-read back to page 240 or something XD
I will have to try and enter something, but maybe not best groomed since it's winter and Donny is super fluffy at the moment <3

Anyway, I had my first jumping lesson on Donny today. It was a surprise since I wasn't expecting to be riding XD He did really really well though! He was quiet hot -for him- when we were cantering in a group, but nothing that I haven't riden through on other horses. He was good when it came to the jumping part though, even though it wasn't very high. He did try to duck out a few times but I just put my leg on and straighened him up :3 He didn't refuse a single jump! Even when I messed up the lines XD He did shoot off after pretty much every jump though but it got better towards the end of the lesson <3 I think he does have potential in the jumping aspect :)
D had a ride on him too. And oh my gosh he does looks nice when he works in a frame. She rode him amazingly and he does extend and do flying changes :D Her words were, "he has all the buttons there, just needs to be pressed in the right way' she was teaching me how to aked him to round since it's different to the way I'm used too. I did manage to get it though and a semi-decent canter XD lol

Oooh! I LOVE doing flying changes, so fun! I do it all the time on Casper.

Yeah they are! And theyre super handy too. Same with leg yeilding ;) There's heaps more to say about the person but I don't want to bore you all. And Casper Donny's flying changes look HUGE XD They certainly aren't a little hop, he looked like a polo horse lol It probably looked huge because he was in a big/extended canter then changed, but still XD But you would not believe how many "oh my gosh I love your horse/your horse is so pretty ect." comments XD Even D really liked him XD I'll have to try and get a video next lesson to show you, but you'll have to excuse my cruddy posistion ^^;

I'm so proud of Chino :] he's improved so much and is getting much better at jumping!
I was allowed to ride him for my lesson on Saturday because apparently I'm 'tougher' now. We did dressage and he's really getting the hang of bending. When I circle him, you can actually see him bending through his ribs and I managed to make him go round!
In my free ride I was riding Boycie { I fell off him last week } and we jumped about three foot so I was really happy with that, but it always seemed like he was going to stop but at the last second Boycie would just leap it perfectly, not hurl himself over it like you'd expect. He's so great xp
The girl I explained about a few pages ago was there again, but was riding Mo, a crazy thoroughbred mare, and was very tough on her, then swapped with my friend and she rode a palomino thoroughbred called Harley. Harley was hyper and getting even more excited because of how she rode him, but at least she wasnt on little Kessie. My other friend rode Kes. He's such a good little jumper!

Wait, I just got totally left behind. Are we having a show? Pictures or videos?

Yes it seems we are. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe both are okay. Though video might be more prefered for certain classes rather than a picture.
I might enter the best groomed class, as others I have no clue and chance of getting video/pictures of me riding are slim. Though I would have to do it fast before Heta starts the rubbing, meaning her face will NOT be pretty...

Are there any class specific rules? Like time limit between the before and after pictures in the best improved class, or that the time between them should be stated on the entry form. For example pictures taken with 5 year apart should show huge improvement when compaired to let say pictures with one month differance. Makes sense? That way the judges could consider the timeframe and amount of improvement. Meaning if the person has improved very little in long time they would not score well, where as a person who might have more recent pics but shows great improvement could score quite high.
I don't know if there also should be short version of the rules for each class, or what the judges are looking in each one. That way people who don't have much knowledge of some class could possibly still enter... Like I have no clue of equitation classes nor hunter nor pleasure, simply 'cause they aren't organised around here. Not that it matters to me as I can't get pictures...

I think there should be a best groomed class, since some people have said they are not aloud to post pictures of them riding. Just a simple picture of your horse/ a riding school horse nicely groomed will do. I have a great picture I could use!

~

I had one of the best rides ever yesterday. There is this pony at the yard who used to belong to a tall teenage boy, who was too big for her. He just got on straight away and was really strong with her, just kicking her and pulling her in the mouth. That's what I've heard from the yard owner anyway. And when the people were breaking her in they just sat on her and jumped her. No schooling or anything. So when Julie asked one of the girls who is down the yard at the moment doing her exams if she'd like to jump her dressage horse for the first time, I had to go with her so the horse would have company. Bearing in mind I had been walking Purdy, the pony I was talking about before, for at least 20 mins, I was so happy, because I knew this little pony can jump. I jumped her quite high, Well for me I considered it high because I haven't jumped that high in ages. She pinged over the jumps and was so nice to ride!! I can't wait until Thursday because I am having a jumping lesson on her aswell as riding my loan horse.

~

The reason I was walking her is because when someone gets on her she is ready to go straight away, jogging and being really strong, I am the one who is trying to teach her to calm down :P

Perhaps have beginner and advanced for the equitation? It's not really the fair the way it is now, because I'd have to compete against you and Hano, and I'd lose because I've only been riding for two years.

Edit: How about it's divided... into 'Level 1', for people who jump 18" to 2ft3, and then 'Level 2' for people who jump higher than 2ft3? You'd enter the class that you feel you belong in... like, if I can jump 2ft, but usually jump 2ft6, then I'd enter the class with the heigh I usually jump.

Okay, well I have thought about this for a while so I am going to do some edits...We are going to host shows about every month, but each show will have different classes so we won't need as many judges at one time. We can run the shows for a bit longer and have some overlap if needed though. Right now I am going to edit to make this show being a Hunter and Eq show with 2 Fun Classes (there will be fun classes every show). Then next month will be Dressage and Pleasure. Do you guys think this is a good idea? If not I can just keep it as it is with about 5 different divisions...I just think it may be easier to judge if we have fewer classes but more frequent shows....What do you guys think? Any more edits you think I should add?

I think I will just do beginner/intermediate Eq and then more advanced Eq. It is just going to be too hard to divide it by height. I will edit now ;D

I think it's a good idea to space the different classes out because it gives you and the judges less work, especially if they're hoping to enter one or more themselves. c:
It also means the judges could easily step down between runs of their class, say dressage, and still leave plenty of time for you to find a replacement.

I'd possibly be able to enter, though I'm not sure what in. What would you say the kind of... "specifications" for each class would be? I'm assuming I'd probably be in a more advanced Eq. class, but intermediate or actual advanced, well... I don't know. ;D
I mean, 7 years of riding, about 5 focused solely on flat/position I'd like to think would slap me in advanced, but I'm always funny about stuff like this. o: Don't want to be out of my depth, though I hope I'm good enough, y'know? Just got to catch a picture that shows it. :P

Great! I am glad people are liking this idea because I think it is easier and better for the judges too ^^ I just wanted to run it by you guys to make sure I wasn't totally alone on this idea xD

Speaking of judges....would anyone like to judge our first show? It will be Hunter, Eq, and Fun Classes. I would love to judge the Beginner Eq and Fun Classes, since I will be entering Advanced Eq myself ^^

Yeah go ahead! They really are no "specifications" as to which one to enter in. It's just personal preference and to make the competition field more fair ;D I am sure you would be fine in advanced eq :3 Only if you want to enter though! I don't want to push you into the advanced eq xD
