That's a good idea! I think that it would be cool to have a Champion/Reserve for all english, all western, and all fun, and then also have a huge over-all Champion/Reserve.

We can also do that with other riders, maybe someone western? xD

I have no idea, I'll think on it, though. Ooh, a most improved class might be funny. xD Like, people submit two pictures - one from when they started riding, and one current.

So for English will the categories be somewhere along the lines of...:

Equitation U/S
Equitation O/F

Jumpers

Hunter U/S
Hunter O/F

Dressage

Pleasure


So are you going to find someone to handle the Western stuff? Maybe sam sam, or Rowdy, or October? Or anyone that is knowlegeable about western xD

Thanks! Yeah so an "Overall High-point Rider" sort of thing, where the person with the most points in each division get's Champion and runner-up gets Reserve Champion. Then we can have Grand Champion and Reserve Gran Champion for the most points and second most points in total ;D

Western classes? Possibly Pleasure and Trail classes? I'm not much into western, but barrel would be hard to judge, in my opinion. A simple reining pattern, maybe.

I want to add that I think any speed events would be hard to judge, like barrel racing, pole bending, even jumpers, because, well, no one would have exactly the same course or distance, etc, and it would be really hard to tell who had the best time. Just my opinion.

As for the fun categories, maybe it could be an anyone-can-cast-a-vote thing? Like costumes, you could put up a poll and everyone could vote.

As for the shows, should we host one every month? Or should it just be one big continous thing? I think we should either do a new show every month or two points and then pick a number of shows we are going to host that year. Then we would be able to give out the year end division prizes based on the number of points people have...

I think there should be huntseat equitation, dressage equitation, and western equitation. The classlist could be...

No problem! I don't know how you are running it so far yet, but if you haven't planned it yet, I thought you could do different shows every months or every two weeks or something, like you could have a dressage show one week, and have a few classes like - best sitting trot, best canter, best collected canter, best extended trot, and then best overall test (which would be a video) or something, then the next show you could have something like western pleasure, and have best jog, best lope, etc. That's just my thoughts. Oh, and I might be able to pitch in something for prizes too, eventually

Edit: forgot to add, but you can completely ignore this if you want to, because it was your idea and you are running it (except for me helping with some prizes in my own way, because that's non-optional xD). Those are just some ideas, if you want them, but don't feel like you have to use them.

I am doing BOTH hunter and eq classes, because maybe some people want to have hunter classes and would like their horse to be judged. It doesn't mean you have to enter them ;D

Right now I don't think we should do divisions by height becase we may not get enough entries in each division...But don't worry if you guys want I can always change things up :3

I am still not sure of how often to do them because we have a couple of different opinions on this...

On an unrelated note... does anyone have ANY idea what kind of release is preferred in Equitation/Medals? Crest or auto? I prefer doing autos, but if crest releases are better for Eq., then I'll do that. xD I read through the USEF Equitation handbook, and although there is stuff on position, there is NO info on TWO POINT and RELEASES. >< Which is what I need help with... well I just want to know which will help me place better in Eq. I'm tempted to go stalk George Morris and ask, lol.
