Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature’s law is wrong it learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping it’s dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete, when no one else ever cared.

Ahh I've been soooooooo busy! I had been meaning to post and update after my clinics but then it was show week... And auditions for a play, Then show weekend... Needless to say its been a trifle bit busy but anyways...

For the clinic.... It was amazing, fantastic, incredible and so amazingly worth it! (To think I almost didn't do it!) Beau was amazing! He was attentive supple and most importantly forward! The clinician gave nothing but praise! He has known Beau for a while and said he looked like a totally different horse! He said he looked perfectly sound except for a few steps where he was unbalanced (But most horses are that way he says) That is super good news, now that we have beau sound we can go forward with consistent training! (during the winter months when Beau would spend too much time inside, he would come out stiff and lame and many a lessons were canceled because of it...) So that's a positive! He was such a good boy! We did 10 m circles in canter without too much effort (A task previously deemed as impossible by me lol!) And he collected really well, it's been taking us way less time to warm up and get all together... Plus!! And this is a biggy!!!! We have our canter transitions down! -SCORE- They are not the prettiest things in the world but we get there and if the collection is lost we regain it really quickly. And my trainer was soo happy! She said she felt like a "proud mama!" To hear her say that.... left me flipping out with happiness. I could not have been more pleased with Mr. Beau!

And the show. Was not perfect by any means... For the first test I was soo flipping nervous.... And Beaus old owner was there... And my caller ended up calling to slow...Beau was acting like a flipping power-horse he was soo forward! I was totally not expecting it! And I didn't know my test.... It was a bit of a...............fail. Not a total fail though.... I mean he was collected and pretty and stuff but the test was sooo screwed up. The judge had to start and stop me O.o. Meh...... It was kind of disappointing.. But we still got a 55% and a second place.... The judge was SUPER Harsh!! Like no one really scored above a 65% on average... (Except my trainer who got a like a 72 and 75% lol!) Anyways... That was a bomb..... But my second test I did much much better in!! I got a 62% and another second place! And was a half a point away from being tied for first!! The girl who took first though was a girl at my barn who is a really really good rider, she has been ridding for like I think at Minimum 5 years and she's been able to go to Germany and have some lessons along with lots of other good instructors.... So needless to say I was very pleased! Beau was like a little power horse he was so focused and performed so well! I could no be more pleased!!! Image

You are all so lucky... well the ones of you that ride anyway... i used to ride... in grade 5-8... then i was tokd i needed to stop because i only had one kidney and my doctor was afraid id fall off the horse and get it hurt cause im such a klutz  ... when i first started riding i did become really attached to one horse in particular though. Her name was sweet Pea... i never figured out what breed she was... though i think she might have been a morgan and something cross... she was a pretty chestnut around probably 15-15.5hh... anyways... my all time favorite horse is a clydsdale... but i also like the little shetland ponies and the arabians. Now that i dont ride, i still am around hirses and other farm animals as much as possible, but i usually read books like the heartland and chestnut hill series instead... they are very good for those who are as unfortunate as i in the lack of riding abilities. i always feel like i can put myself in the book <3 ... oh yea! and ill finally get to start helpng horses when i go to study veterinary medicine in september (YAYZ!)

I am so disappointed right now.
I've been jumping 2'6"-2'9" for about 5 years now, waiting waiting waiting for my coach to move me up to 3'.
Well. I was supposed to have a lesson today, but I ended up missing it because I got really sick.
Of course today is the lesson when everyone else gets to jump 3 feet. Although they've been jumping for years less than me.
Fantastic.
And to make things worse, it's not like I'm going to get another chance anytime soon, since the only reason they jumped so high was because my coach wasn't there and another person was teaching the lesson.
I know its not a huge deal, just a few inches... but I feel so incompetent not having jumped 3 feet in FIVE YEARS.
It's been my goal forever now. And now everyone else has reached it, and I'm still stuck here :/
To make things worse, my friend got to ride the horse I'm leasing who I was JUST allowed to start riding, it took me years to get to her level... and now she'll always have done more with this horse than I have, unless by some miracle I get to jump her 3 feet this summer. She was the one special thing that I had and now... ;n;
Well. If my coach ever finds out what they did in the lesson tonight, she'll freak out, and I'll probably be glad I wasn't there >.<

Have a lesson tonight, and our first Drill Team practice after. I think we should of started practicing earlier, for the first compition is in July, which we'll be going to. We went last year, and totally bombed on it. ><. Silly spooky horse.
I got music for my instructor. {I'll start calling her W from now on.} Beat It and Billie Jean.

We have costume ideas done already, for W liked my ideas, and is using them.

Anyways, since last week's lesson was cancelled due to a sloppy arena, I'm pretty happy to go back. I'll no doubt be on Bam Bam, since he's my Drill horse. :D

Went to the yard today, the owner was trying to bridle one of the un-broken horses, she is just putting the saddle and bridle on him then we are going to attempt to back him eventually. Well, he would not open his mouth, no matter what. In the end he got fed up and managed to jump over a 4ft(ish) fence, he hasn't even been broken or anything. Even more to the point, he jumped it from a stand-still, out of a really deep puddle! I think he is going to be an amazing jumper! Once he is backed, and had some schooling, my instructor said I get to work with him. I hope he gets out of the habit of jumping over fences before I start to ride him =P

Darn you lucky ducks. ;~; I've wanted a horse for as long as I can remember. My parents are city people, so they don't really like the idea of moving into a horse friendly area. I've only ridden three horses before, and I'm not very experienced yet. { We moved cross country before I mastered the canter with my riding teacher.} I can only ride up to a canter, and I've never tried a gallop before. :{ Any advice on how to be less fearful about slipping right out of the saddle? I also want to try and lease a horse for a month this summer, how do I know if I'm ready?

Try riding a really calm horse, or a sturdy pony. They will give you loads of confidence and get you ready for the harder rides =D

I think its to early for you to lease let if you have only ridden 3 horses. Once you have trtied a large range of different types of horses then aybe try the. Its only a suggestion. And Like Pep Siad, ride the steady horses, once that dont (Usually) Cause any trouble

I had a great lesson yesterday, on Kat. (:

When I got to the barn, both of my trainers cars were in the lot, but I couldn't find them. o.o And horses were in the indoor on turnout... so I just got Kat ready and rode down to one of the empty pastures and walked serpentines for a bit to warm him up. I love him so much - a deer ran right in front of use and he just started a bit, nothing more! ;D Any other horse would've spooked majorly *coughWillow*, but Kat was a little angel. Love my boy.
I finally came back up and found my trainers! Apparently they had taken some horses down to the neighbor's outdoor ring to school.

So anyways. They put the horses that were in the indoor back in their stalls, and I had my lesson. Kat was starting out a little stiff in his left front, though... luckily, the chiropractor was there, and he watched me ride. Then he had me get off so that he could adjust Kat. xD I got back on, and Kat was feeling a lot better.

The lesson was very nice. I got him on the bit fairly easily, and he was able to lift his back even more than usual. He's getting stronger! It was too hot to jump, though, so my trainer had me do a poles course to get Kat acclimated to courses. That's the next step in his training. The most he's ever been jumped is through a line.
Kat loved the little course. xD He wanted to gallop, it was adorable. The pattern was originally canter pole on the quarterline, canter pole on diagonal, canter pole on other quarterline, canter pole on other diagonal. Yeah. Kat got excited, and his greenness really came through, more than usual. xD He wanted to RUN. So I had him halt after each pole and he got much better.

I love my boy, it's amazing to see how much he has improved! This is why I love the greenies - talking them over their first jumps, though their first courses. <3

But now I'm leaving for vacation so TEN DAYS out of the saddle! D: I might die!
