I free lunged Heta on Sunday and boy she got moves... First she was bit lazy and kept 'hiding' in one corner, the only one that had still some snow. Weird as she usually wants to avoid snow and mud, but I guess out of those two snow/going into corner was lesser annoyance than mud. Talk about princessy. Then she started run like crazy when I asked bit firmer, as she usually does, then she 'spooked' at one guy bringing a bench next to the arena with his quadbike(which she usually doesn't even pay attention to). Wel,l good thing I had my camera with me as she showed some nice flashy trot. Which I got almost on the video... -__- I'll see if I can tweek it a bit and then maybe upload it. If anyone is interested?
Yesterday... She was horrible. I'm not even going there.

Then today I went on a lesson randomly as L asked that would I like to ride on a lesson at 4 when I got there bit earlier. But before that I had time to watch the videos from the competition. Our accidental pace was cut out sadly, and I got to see how horrible Heta's 'tolt' looks like. The only gait that looked good in my eye was canter, and trot, but I know it wasn't as good as usual.
On to the today's lesson I really had to get her front up and collect, which made a huge differance on her walk. But she was not as light on the hand as I would have liked her to be and pressed against it quite a lot when I was supposed to do stop, my fault partially as I don't know how to use my seat so well that she would listen to it. Then I was supposed to do trot transitions with rein contact all the time, which is hard as collecting+rein contact usually= go tolt. We struggled a lot... I got her trot few times out of dozens of tries... I could feel she would go to trot, but still ended up in piggy pace. I know she can trot with contact and collection, but the start is so bloody hard. And when I got her trotting she fell into tolt soon. Those few times I got her going I collected her after getting into trot, but that's not really what L was going for. Better than nothing though, and the last transition and collection I did she liked. So not total waste and now I know what to look in the walk, or feel actually.
Can we pretend that the airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?
I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now...

Lucky you, with all the lovelies! Woody, and now Mully. xD

I love my crazies, though. They make life so much more interesting.

Thanks, it really was fantastic. I really enjoy that my trainer has put me on some different horses :3 Now I have options for the horse that I would like to progress on ;D Mulligan is wonderful, he is such a fantastic horse. I am hoping my trainer will maybe let me show on May 19th maybe in the 2' diviosn if we aren't to 2'6" yet. I am hoping to show Meg in Pleasure again too xDD That would be a lot of horses to show, so I would probably have to choose Meg or Mully <3

Haha, I guess I am lucky to have ridden those awesome horses. Yep, Woody, Mully, and Meg <33

You should, because Willow and Kat sound like amazing horses too ;D I always look forward to hearing about your lessons with 'em :3

Oh about the halter you want to buy Kat, that's awesome! I think the cob sized halter should work if his head is bigger for an Arab. :) I love all the stuff you buy for the horses. Actually, this summer I going to help out at Dover's Tent Sale by bagging items ^^ I am hoping to buy grooming brushes at the tent sale, because it would be so much easier to have my own brushes. Especially when going to out of barn shows since the other two girls I went with brought their own stuff, and I didn't have any brushes so I had to borrow theirs xD Kinda random, but I just thought of it xD

I hope that you can show then both! ;D They both sound lovely.

You are. (:

I love them, even with all of their quirks.

Yeah, I think I'll go for a cob. I'm either going to get a nice leather one or a newmarket one to match Willows. (: Probably leather, though, because I'm fairly certain that I'm going to show him a lot, and leather just looks nicer when you're hand walking around the barn after a ride. xD I love spoiling my ponies! Speaking of which, I need to get some Arab sized polos for Kat since mine are too big for him. >< Does anyone here use polos? I only wrap the hind legs though, and put open fronts on the front legs.
That sounds like tons of fun! I wish I lived near a dover, lol. xD The closest one is out of state and 5 hours away! You'll have to tell me all about it.
Oooh, get these brushes: http://www.smartpakequine.com/champion- ... _vc=Search I got them for my birthday and love them, especially the flick and the soft brush.

EDIT: Horsegirl: I'd love to hear about it! Any new videos?

@Verdana: Wow, that sounds amazing! How does join up work? I'd love to try something like that with Kat. However, my barn doesn't have any roundpens. There is plenty of turnout, the indoor ring, the huge outdoor... no round pen. Kat's stall has an attached run, though. But it's kinda small and rectangular. xD

Thanks, yeah I will have to discuss it with my trainer before the next show so I can let her know that I want to show Megs again and try showing Mully <333

All horses have their quirks (:

I love leather halters ;D All of my trainers horses have a leather showing halter ^^ Leather halters look really fancy. Meg has a leather halter too. Mulligan has a Horseware Ireland one. It's leather and then has a cool soft fabric pattern on it. Just like the Horseware Ireland blankets. I can tell that you love to spoil your babies <33 I don't think my parents would let me buy my favorite horses a halter since they all have one or more already xDD
Yeah I am super excited!! I love having that Dover on the way to the stable. It is so fun to just stop by and wander around the store  Aww >.< I will be sure to let you know how it goes. Oohh those brushes look niceee. Dover has these really cool hoof picks with a rainboot on the bottom :3 So cute.

My dad just informed me that the jacket we bought at the HITS and are getting imbroidered with the HITS logo and my name should be here tomorrow 8D

Mulligan, you make my world go round and I can't stand to see you go.
I'm going to miss you like crazy and I love you to pieces.
You are the love of my life and will always occupy a huge portion of my heart.
I want you to know how much I love you, and our 6 months together have been the best 6 months of my life.
You have been a dream come true and I have been on cloud nine since we first met.
I will never forgot all of the amazing times we've had together.
Enjoy your new home and promise me this, that you will never forget me, as I will never forget you.

I'll have videos up soon ^^

I got 5th place in Long Stirrup Equitation Over Fences!
Totally amazing considering a month ago I would just stand up and throw my arms.
We also got a 5th place in Long Stirrup Hunter Over Fences.
Would've placed in the Under Saddle class if we had got our lead on the first try, but Gem got it on the second try.
Which is amazing because I didn't canter during our schooling session.
She had bolted after a jump and ran out the ring, totally wrecked my nerves because I almost fell off.
So I scratched my canter classes, I was so freaked out.

My instructor was really proud of me, especially for placing in my Eq O/F class.
There was 13 people in total, because they split the class since we had about 26 Long Stirrup rider. O.o

Sad :( I forgot my camera yesterday when I want riding... Oh well! The lesson was fun yesterday! We did jumps, which I only got like 1 of so many correct, because I either was to slow, or the one time almost lost my balance causing me to almost fall off. One girl did fall off, at the begining when Dundee spooked at a car! Not a huge truck or loud motorcycle (Whick he may do rarely) But a car that I didn't even hear! What a silly horse! Logan was being very lazy today, and at the very end when we were cooling off, Gypsy, who was still going because her owner came late was doing a course and Logan pinned his ears back, then my teacher yelled, "Oh Logan! Thats your sister!" Towrds the begining we trotted with out stirups, and if you are on a horse who is fresh at the beging, this is not that fun! But it felt like a dream when we went back to posting.

YES! May! First time leasing, saddly I can't ride tonight, I'll just have to ride tommoro, or Friday or find someway to make my parents cancle my plans thursday, wait shoot that would mean cancleing my brother's birthday! Oh well, who cares about that he can stay __(Blank age)__ for all I care! My one friend is so stupid! She owns a horse named Boe(Spelling may be wrong it might be: Bow or Bo) but anyways she thought I wasn't leasing this month! When I told her day after day I was.

Does any one have a friend who is like my friend: They are scared of horses but their favorite animal is an elephant? She said it was because horse could trample you and are really tall and scary. But an elephant is even taller and heavier so you would think the elephant would be scarier. Also she use to own horses, when she was super young(maybe 3).
I was <Rainy Days> please don't take it

Show_Jumping_Dreams wrote:I have something that's really bugging me! But first of all let me tell you all about the horses and ponies in my riding stables...

Ponies

Bess
A super sweet around 14hh pony. She is a rescue case who had sweet itch. We took her in and she has improoved by so much! The lovelist temperment of a horse you'd ever meet. Bay with white stripe. Is lovely to ride! Her trot is really comfortable but relies so much on the rider to back her up.

Bluebird
The cute cheeky chap! Blue is 13.2hh and is actully called piebald. Though his coat is grey with white. He has white legs and is a welsh. He has bags of protencial! He is so lovely and everyone loves him!

Minnie
Minnie is a horse inside a pony's body! She is bay and 13.1hh. She looks like a mini arab! She is really beautiful and has very short paces but has an amazing jump. You really need to be 100% with jumping on her. She has a tendancy to buck or spook though.

Shane
Shane is 20 years old. He was a gig horse . But now specializes in teaching beginners. He is a chestnuty bay coat and black mane.

Buttercup
The OAP! She is really lovely! Everyone loves her, but she is retired. Skewbald.

Jasmine
Buttercups foal. She is Piebald and not trained yet. But broken
.

Kool
Kool is 14.1hh and is bay. She loves running ahead.

Miley
Is a handsome lad but is really lazy. Not to mention fat.. or hairy... But he has a really lovable character. Bay with stripe.

Sandy
The latest project. Quite like Bess but is buckskin.

Nala
The shettie me and my friend broke in! She is soo cute! But really cheeky. She will nip your butt is you try to pick out her hooves (happened to my friend.)

Horses

Lexus
Ahh Lexus! The star of the yard! A small jumping legend! Brown and white, flaxen mane.

Rupert
Bay with white blaze, Rupert is the biggest boy standing 17.2hh!

Clorice
The newest of our collection. I do not know much about her exept for she's bay and has a blaze.

Problemo:

The past few weeks we have been riding in our daily lesson with a boy called Alex. We knew him before and he was rough with all the horses. Last week I was riding Minnie. My friend Miley and Alex Blue. The first problem was that he started off with the reins really tight. When we were warming up he was pulling the mouth off blue. When Blue got lazy, which was no fault of his own, Alex began to use the whip too harshly. When we came to jump alex never went with Blue over the jump. He just sat ridgid with a tight rein and kept catching Blue on the mouth. Our instructor has told him repetally to stop. But it carries on. He's not trying to change. You can imagine what it's like to see one of your fav ponies being hastled about. It's really distresing.

^^anyone else have this prob?^^

I am super duper excited! I was thinking of leasing Bill this summer because I don`t play any other sports and have nothing to do. So I talked to my mom, and she said she couldn`t afford it. This weekend I went and talked to my dad. He`s actually considering it! He thinks it`s a great idea! So I might get to lease Bill for the summer! Yay! 8D

Hello everyone! I am back for the summer since I have nothing to do over the span of my two month summer vacation!
I am searching for some semi-lit roleplays to take part in to keep me amused over the time. I won't be on every single waking moment although (like I used to) because I do have a little bit of a social life this summer (surprise, surprise!).

@Dolphin
That's cool that they all have a nice halter! At my barn, some of the horses have leather halters, others have Nylon. They are all in good condition, though, and they get to use a nice halter at shows. ;D Oooh, I've never seen leather Horseware halters! Willow's is a [url=http://www.smartpakequine.com/rambo-newmarket-halter-6923p.aspx]Horsewear Newmarket[url] one... in the navy to match our barn colors. I just borrow a leather one for shows, lol.
Haha, I spend my own money on them! They all already have halters, I just want them to get PRETTY halters. Kat's is green nylon. >< He wants a leather one.
I love those hoof picks, so precious!

Awesome about the jacket!

@Horse_girl:
Wow, congratulations! That's an awesome ribbon to get, especially out of all of those people! You guys have come so far, you should be majorly proud of yourself. And Gemmy.

@Show_Jumping:
Alex sounds like a jerk. D: I've experienced people like that at different barns, but not at my current one. You should tell your trainer about it and get him kicked out or something. ><

.....
I think I want to try eventing with Kat. No joke. He's getting much better with his jumping (so proud of him for doing his first 2 footer on Saturday), and he has the potential to go higher.
He's quick, handy, scope-y, and turns on a dime for the stadium jumping... However, I need to work with him on his lead changes. I actually got a few flying ones on Saturday, but they still need some work. xD And I need to get him more confident with jumping because he's so new to it.
I think he'd do really well at dressage because he moves beautifully, and when he frames up? It's gorgeous. <3
And he'd love XC. o.o He loves being ridden outdoors, and he doesn't really 'spook'... he just stares at things.

I'm going to talk with my trainers about it soon. C: There is a big cross country park that hosts events really close to my barn, I want to check it out!

Has anyone here done XC?

Hey Guys!

Queso and I are headed to a horse show on Saturday! We are only showing in 2 classes, Halter Geldings 4 and Over and Showmanship, but I think it's gonna be pretty fun. The only thing I dislike about it is that in the Halter class, any person can show in it, it isn't broken up into people age groups, so I could be in with adults, or little kids, or anyone in between. At least the Showmanship has a people age group- 13 and under, 14-18, and 19 and over. I will be in 14-18, and I have an advantage for that. Most 14-15 kids I know are going to be at a track meet, so that leaves 16-18, but there is some thing for the highschoolers, so hopefully there won't be too many people. Queso and I kick butt in showmanship anyway though. Also, we are hitting a horse show in a couple weeks, that has a class for the harriest horse!
There's something to be said for a place that hasn't had all the rough rode out of it.
