Hello guys (: I haven't been on here for a while... I lost track of the thread >.<

I need to rant about a little bit of something to people who understand:
I ride an Arabian mare named Sassy. She is really sweet, and will do just about anything for me. We have a great connection, and it doesn't take much for her to follow me around, and do about anything I ask. Whereas she isn't ridden by anyone else now, over the summer, she will be used for camp every day, which means I won't be able to do anything with her on a regular basis. It breaks my heart to know that I have to give up my baby girl so that a few bratty campers who don't know how to control her can ride her. At the same time, it also means I have to find another horse, and there aren't really very many options for me. I am stuck choosing between a moody, slightly spooky, and rather slow mare and a Morgan gelding who is fast, sweet and a quick learner, but was just started under saddle and is still a little green. I also know that while I am working, Sassy will follow me around in the arena, simply because she is my baby and I am, in effect, her boss mare. What would you guys do about this?

I get it, I don't like watching other people ride my horse -.-

It's your choice to what horse you pick, but I think the younger one will give you a chance to bring it up. If you think about it, while your mare is being ridden by these other people, you are helping train an in-experienced horse, and you never know, maybe this horse will be used for the camp in the future instead of Sassy. It will give you a chance to be completely in charge and to teach the horse new things as well as having fun =D

I know what you mean about feeling bad when people ride the horse you usually ride or own. It took me a while to get adjusted to the fact Chance was being used in lessons; he usually is only ridden by three girls, all who I know, but sometimes I'll come and find him being ridden by a person I don't know and I cringe everytime they don't force him into a corner, or just derp around on him.

I actually almost panicked once last year; I came into the arena and Chance was being ridden by this girl around my age who doesn't usually ride him. Last year he was basically used whenever, whereas this year he's being part leased by a show jumper, and so he only does a few lessons on the Monday I come and ride, and maybe one other. But Chance has this thing that if you try to take off a jacket or pass anything but a crop, he'll bolt and spook.

I was asking my coach who she wanted me to ride in my next lesson, and as I'm doing so I catch out of the corner of my eye this girl beginning to take off her jacket while sitting on Chance. I just about had a heart attack and ran over, grabbed his bridle and kinda uh, yelled at her. >> It wasn't totally her fault, since no one told her about it, but honestly, on any horse you should always ask someone to hold them if you're going to remove your jacket, just in case. >> I was not too pleased.

i ride horses and have been for eight years now i started out at a farm where my grandfather volunteered and i got free lessons there because he did.I had lessons for two years and learned how to trot over little jumps and stuff and then stopped because my grandfather couldn't volunteer anymore he had to much work to do.I had started going to a camp in the summer for a week or so and there was another up in Maine that had horseback camp.So i started going there for a week during summer and learn all the way up to a sitting tort and almost canter and switched from intermediate to advance which was the last year for it because including me there was only three girls no boys and they forgot to order the ribbons that year so we all got a award for something like i got "The best sitting trot" award. and a sixth place ribbon which was all they had.Well next year they had switch it to TrailBlazers 1 & 2 so i went to trailblazers 2 and got fourth place ribbon in pole bending and a Morgan class ribbon for passing my level class.(Classes are split into what level riding your at)I can kinda canter its mainly trying to keep either in the saddle or keeping the horse to the edge of the ring.I nearly fell off once.Or as my instructer says i dismounted in style.I was hanging onto the side of the horse my arms wrapped around the horses neck my legs half on the side of the saddle. Then last year i did it again we had a jumpign class and they forgot to tell me when i go over the big x jump you need to quickly sit back down in the saddle out of half seat.So when the horse landed he landed so hard that i was jarred out of the saddle.I nearly went over his head except i let go of my reins and held on to hsi neck like i did the other time.So i had one leg in a stirrup the other over the saddle and i was hanging off the side of my horse. Now keep in mind both times the instructer freaked and i was perfectly calm. The lady who was taking pictures for the slide show snapped a picture of me like that. but they didnt put it in the slide show thinking my mom would freak like they did.My mom was calm when she found out knowing i knew what i was doing so i was fine.I was having fun:3I won fourth place again and "The Most Epic Fall Award" .Anouther girl go t"My Pony's Taller Then Me award."Some one else got "My Way not Your Way Award".They changed the age limit so i can go again this year but im not because they raised the price. So im waiting till maybe next year to go.But i still ha dfun at camp last year.

Ick, yeah, it's rainy here too. When I went on Monday it was soooo rainy, and Shotty's paddock is like... mud galore. I'm sure he's covered in it, especially his glorious white feathered hooves. ;u;

I go home on Friday though, and the weather looks nicer, so I should be able to take some of our babies out for a bit before I leave on Sunday. Apparently 1/4 of our "indoor arena" has walls. XD

I had a nice hack on Max ....... till it started raining.

We had about 45 minutes on the road to get home, and it was chucking it down. Not only that, but a female driver came very close (about 15 centimetres) to clipping Max. We were both wearing yellow jackets, but some people have no road sense. -.-

Both Max and I are ok. We are just a little shaken up. Luckily he's pretty bombproof on roads.

Is the weather not good where you are? Here it's not. It's been pouring with rain all day, jut stopped a couple hours ago.
I'm so glad I'm helping with the horses tomorrow and not today because I'm not sure how the youngster will react to being ridden in the rain, and I'm not about to find out!

@About others riding your horse: Heta was used on one or two lessons a while ago. First was an adult with riding experience but she hadn't taken many lessons so her riding skills needed some fixing. That was cool as they focused mostly on bending and other walk/flat work. On the next lesson there's a mother with her 3 daughters. Heta was under the youngest at first... I watched them once or twice, and was not always too happy with her hands. I know Heta can be unresponding in the mouth, but constant pulling ain't helping as she just leans on the bit harder. Plus after she had ridden Heta, I had to 'fix' somethings, like the mouth and responding to any aids basically. Then luckily Heta was put with the oldest girl, who is pretty good rider as my instructor has also let her ride her young horse. She looked much better on Heta, and liked to ride her too, atleast the second time when Heta was not being an ass. She also got her to yield better than I do('cause I suck at yields), which is a good thing. But generally I don't like Heta being ridden by others who are, how to say, not so good riders, atleast not very often. Same/better level as me I wouldn't mind so much.
Heta is an ex-lesson horse and can be ridden by little beginner kids, but they don't do her any good. Since I got her, I've worked to get her listen to smaller and smaller aids, so I would rather like her to stay that way too.

Weather really boosted up today, sunny and freakishly warm in the sun, like maybe 15C. We had a enjoyable trail ride, though there are still few fallen trees on the trails that we had to go around. Heta also stepped on my toes when I was checking the girth, thankfully I had steel toed shoes. But she has taken a habbit to sort of side step with her front legs when ever I'm doing the girth, couple times nearly stepping on my toes as well... Now days she rarely tries to bite though, so some improvent has happened with saddling
Can we pretend that the airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?
I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now...
