i feed him only live crickets and i keep him in a pretty large tank and he usually sleeps/rests on the side without the heat lamp over it, which is a lil weird but after he eats he chills under the heat lamp.
and also he loves being pet on his head and likes chilling on my shoulder. but im scared to let him chill cause he can get spooked easily and has no depth perception (where my shoulder ends and how far away the ground is) so i don't take him out much.
he's also terrified of boxes.
the most expensive part for me about owning him is the constant buying of crickets *-* $6 for 5 dozen medium.

lol, I have 8 reptiles, I spend SO much on crickets every week ;-; they can go through 100 in 2 days.
Then factor in all the fresh veggies/fruit and occasional waxworms
I probably spend more on them then I do myself ha

I probably spend more on them then I do myself harip I feel this. I run a reptile rescue and currently have 14 reptiles right now. I breed my own dubai, mealworms and super worms but crickets are a pain to breed. Reptile shows save me-- I can get 500 crickets fro $15 dollars. Plus 50 mice/rats for about $25. Fruits and veggies are expensive though since they lose their moisture and nutrients in about a week (or is it two? I can't remember off the top of my head).
@ Grimace - I have experience with tegus and ackies. I've dealt with several types of moniters before but haven't gotten as much experience from them as I'd like.

Ahh ackies are so cool, a while back I was debating on breeding them.
And then I got my water monitor and that plan went out the window hahaha

So it's been about 9 months since I got my crested gecko. He's grown from about 7-8 grams to 15 grams, which seems slow to me, but I'm new to reptiles (aaaaand he just pooped on my scale as I type this -_- thanks buddy!). Does that seem like an okay weight gain? I see food missing almost nightly and he obviously seems to be pooping fine, but I'm curious if he should be getting bigger quicker than this. I feed him the Repashy Mango. I would have preferred Pangea, but shipping is insane! Anyways, I think I'll move him to his big planted tank at 20 grams, to be safe, but I'm very excited! I'll have to post pictures another time, but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
Just a quick update from Sherbert and I! c:
