PersonalityBernetta is a shy horse, she does not enjoy many people's company. She only really is happy when she is with her owner, or when she is flying with her tiny little wings. She loves the wide open air and the tranquility of the humble little towns she passes while flying. Looking down at the tiny, yet vast landscape below her glossy hooves bring's bubbles of joy to her plum colored face.
HistoryBernetta was raised in the wilds of your backyard. She was born in the woods by a stream. When she was but young she was forced to leave her family. Now she lives alone with her owner, hoping to see her mother again, at least once in her lifetime.
Short Story]
Bernetta looked up at her mother's face, almost identical to her own. So much so that they had been mistaken for sisters quite often. While Bernetta often scowled at this stupid mistake, she almost always noticed her mother blush a little. How strange.
This past year had been hard for her family. Earlier in the year, her father had left to search for a field full of grain so they could eat. They had been lucky many a time, and once had been able to eat for a month on her father's findings. But this time her father did not come back with a triumphant smile, in fact, he never did show again.
Months later a rotting carcass with many major resemblences to Bernetta's father was found by a common hunting area for the local pack of wolves.
Bernetta still remembered her mother's scream.
But tonight was the last night Bernetta would be able to look upon the face of her mother. In recent weeks, it had become harder and harder for Skye, her mother, to feed Bernetta. Today they had found nothing very good to eat, so they had to resign to munching on the scattered rotting leaves of fall and some patches of moist moss.
Today was when Bernetta decided to take her leave.
She had been pondering the idea for several weeks now, but today was the last straw. As the nearby abandoned church tower struck midnight, (it was a wonder the thing still worked, it had been many a year since the last human had step foot inside.) Bernetta sighed, so full of misery that one nearby would question the origins of the sound. She looked upon the face so much like her own, and let out a soft, strangled cry. Then she spun around abruptly, and then took off in flight.
Other? I really love this character, so if it does not place in the top three, would you mind if I kept her? I know this is against your rules, but please consider, she means much to me.
