Why would you like the Raven?: I really, really like birds. I'm a keen birdwatcher and, well, Ravens are some of the most fascinating types of birds. They're members of the Corvid family (which has around 133 birds in it, but only around 8 of them can be found in the UK, where I am from. I was fortunate enough to help raise a Raven last summer. The intelligence to them is utterly astounding; we all know that they can (and do) collect trinkets and shinies, but their memory is so incredible. They're just very, very cool birds and once you know enough about them it's almost impossible to not love them! There are a great many bird-themed pets that exist on site, but this is one of the prettiest. And, as goes without saying, one of the rarest. It's unlikely I'd be able to source this pet through any other means - so I'm definitely going to throw my hat into the ring in the smallest chance that I might be able to get it!
What would you it?: I assume this means name it? I'd name it Pewit. Pewit is another name for the Northern Lapwing, which is my favourite bird! Lapwings are really cool. Their calls sound like Pokemon & they will aggressively defend their young against anything - even horses! Some people call them Pewits from their really funky call, and I like the name. So I'd name it Pewit <:
Why should I give you the raven? This is a fun question, namely as it brings up the fact that I am certainly not confident enough to proclaim that I deserve it more than anyone else. I can say that I'd give it a good home! I like dressing up my pets, I don't really enjoy trading that much, honestly, and I get way too emotionally invested in the pixel puppies to ever rehome them without feeling significantly guilty (I had a July Lion that I traded MANY years ago, now, and I still feel bad about it). So you could be sure that this dog would stay with me, and only me. And that I would dress it up in silly outfits, because that brings me joy. Honestly, I'd probably dress it up as a bird watcher. Or give him a little bird friend... I like birds!!
What is one thing you're grateful for? So many things. The way the trains ride past my window each evening and the comfort that the sound brings me. The sound of the birds in the morning. The family of crows that next in the roof across from me. The people in my life that listened to me, housed me, loved me. The sound of the church bells each Sunday morning. The fact that you can see the castle from my living room window. The work that I do for the University that gives me purpose - but it also helps people. The fact that whenever my friends see a horse, a cow, or a cowboy, they instantly call my name. The fact that I have a dog on my arm and anytime I see that tattoo, I cannot help but think of good times.
I learned a while back that I could either be down about my circumstances, or I could see the good in the world, and I chose the latter. So they are mostly only small - but they are something I am grateful for nonetheless.

About Pewit
Pewit is, above all, shy. He enjoys having large feathered wings, for he can easily hide behind them if the world becomes too much. Most of his hobbies enjoy peace and quiet; he likes to read old books and imagine himself traversing the world long-gone. He adores bird-watching, and could pass hours sat in a bush watching birds come and go. He has gone through eight bird log-books so far, and there are only a few birds he has not yet seen. In his garden he has four bird-feeders - though they attract more squirrels than birds, and sometimes he has to run around outside with his wings outstretched to scare the squirrels away long enough that he might hope to catch a glance of a blackbird or a robin. He prefers the winter months to any other - curling up before the roaring fire with a mug of hot chocolate and watching the snow settle outside. Pewit enjoys the quiet aspects of life, the simple moments - and even though he is shy, he is always wagging his tail and being (quietly) excited for the next step of life.
Pewit & the Goshawk
There is a shift in the dirt beneath his paws, and he feels his wings burst out from his back instinctively to beat away the threat - or, if necessary, to launch him into the air. He manages to hold off the urge, if only for a moment, to avoid making any sudden movement. Pewit has been hidden in the shrubbery for what feels like hours - there is a Goshawk. He had heard rumours of one in the woodland, and he felt the need to verify it - he had never seen a Goshawk before. Thus, he had lay in the bushes, waiting to see it. A call of a bird alerts him - it is time. He shifts slightly from his position; wings now safely folded against his back, daring to poke his snout from the underbrush in order to see, if only for a moment.
His instincts were correct - there it was. He had figured that it might have been hunting, but it was not; instead, the bird of prey was gently preening its feathers. It looked remarkably delicate for a bird of its stature - and Pewit was instantly enamoured. His left paw was fumbling for his bird log-book, all the while he refused to take his eyes off of the Goshawk. "Come on," he breathed, locating the book and his pencil. Only for a moment did he look away, to ensure he was filling in the log-book entry on the correct line. When he looked back up, the Goshawk had finished preening itself, and ruffled its feathers, before taking out in a glide.
The only sound that could be heard in the forest was the rhythmic thump of Pewit's tail wagging on the leaf litter. He could not believe he had seen that!

i swapped my claws for wings in
the hopes i could fly and perhaps
you would see me in the sky -
call my name and hold me close.

Why would you like the Raven?:
Personally, I dont really want it..
However my best friend on CS LOVES the
ravendog.
I would love to get it for her and gift it as a
Christmas present. I cant get her anything
because we dont live anywhere near each
other and I honestly couldnt afford a real life
gift this year even if we did.

Butter-ball after her real life dogs nickname.

I'm grateful for a lot of things. I have a beautiful
healthy niece, amazing family, and the best partner
I've ever had.
I'm also grateful to be able to have the time to make
a post like this, and get the chance, even a slim one,
at making another person very happy.

Why would you like the Raven?: It's such a beautiful pet and I feel like it would be a real asset to my collection! I love ravens in real life and I've always wished to have a pet raven, so I guess this is the closest I would get xD
well I mean besides that flying pet in star stable lol
What would you name it?: Beltran (it means 'bright raven' in Spanish and considering everyone loves this pet I guess it's a 'beacon' in the CS community xD)
Why should I give you the raven? This question is really difficult because there is no particular reason but I can guarantee that I would be extremely thankful if I won this giveaway for such a rare pet!
What is one thing you're grateful for? I think when I am asked this in giveaways I always give the same answer: my brother, BigRigsTrucker! He doesn't really play CS anymore but anyway, that's not the point. He is literally my rock through everything and he cheers me up no matter what mood I'm in. Considering I've had a pretty bad end of the year with being really stressed at school and constantly worrying about my physical and mental health he has always provided an excellent distraction and he's just the most kind, funny, and patient person ^^
Of course, I'm also thankful for my other family, pets and friends, as well as the amazing and kind CS community, I just thought I would highlight my brother's amazingness as he's truly the best <3
Other: Don't ask why but I think Beltran would be the pet of a vampire, always flying around and doing errands for him. He shows utmost loyalty to him at all times. Perhaps the new pet of Drac from Hotel Transylvania xDD
Despite the fact that he's normally extremely serious and threatening, just like a true raven Beltran cannot resist shiny things. He often goes around the vampire's castle, grabbing pieces of sparkling jewellery, like perhaps a cursed locket or two, and refusing to let go of them. He certainly enjoys playing tug-of-war once he has grabbed onto those shiny things that he loves so much!
Oh yeah, let's not forget, Beltran is about the size of a horse and he can be used as a mode of transport as well...

If you want a personal selfish reason, I've been trying at these giveaways for a while and have yet to nab a giveaway pet, so there's that! Also, I'm trying to collect all the store pets so...this would help!
