So I've always had a few fursonas and characters but one that has stuck with me the most is my Baylay. So I figured I'd make him a whole species.
Since all I have on my new species is what Baylay looks like I don't have a name for it, lore, or any linearts. That's where you come in
I will be hosting 3 competitions (Name&Lore, Lineart, and Create-a-Character).
Each competition has its own set of rules and prizes. You are more than welcome to enter into as many as you want just make sure to follow each ones rules and conditions.

Name&Lore:
1. Create a unique name that you think is fitting for the species
2. The name must be appropiate, not long, and understandable/easily pronounced
3. Create a befitting lore/history for this species
4. Lore can be as imaginative as you want but don't go over gorey or anything.
Lineart:
1. Create a black and white simple lineart for me and possibly others to use to create their own.
2. No color (that will be in the character create if so wish)
3. Shading is optional. It will neither help your winning or be required. I will judge all entries will equality no mater the extent of artistic ability.
4. I will give a drawn example of my species that you will go by. I already have the basic done I just need a new digital look.
5. No stealing others work.
6. Only digital art no traditional paper drawings please.
Create-a-Character:
1. Once the name&lore and Lineart are finished you can create your own character and enter it in to win. (you can create one before the other competitions are done but you might have to edit them)
2. You can use anything to create your character (digital, color, black&white, pencil,etc.); you may use the winning lineart or choose to create your own.
3. I won't be judging the entries by artistic ability but by uniquness and creativity in the characters.
4. When submitting a character include its name, age, personality or a bit about them, and anything extra/history.
5. You may submit up to 3 characters but will receive the same amount of prizes/pets
6. The number of characters entered do not help or hinder your winning.
Now how about a little knowledge on my species.
Everyone has an element they are connected or tied to; Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Lightning, Shadow, Light, etc
They can have alterations like the ears being long or floppy, having a lot of fluff, or even horns (though its uncommon to see one with horns). You will not see any with alterations or mutations like wings, multipule tails, or no blade at all on its tail.
Here is the basic look to my species/Baylay. Do not diverge from the main look. Small alterations like claws fluff may be added but nothing huge. This is how I'd like them to look for the most part.
