unnamed equine species contest!

Hello, all!

I am obviously running an art contest, but this is also a name contest!

End Date: Saturday, 9. August. 2014 (the last entry may be posted at 11:59 (USA) Eastern Time Zone)

Entry Guidelines:

• lines should black
• one black and white outline should be posted, along with a sample of your coloring
• you should effectively reflect the spirit in the animal
• please don't make up generic names, give the species a cool name!

There will be two (2) winners! The best lines and the best name!

Information

The ______ _______ Equine is an extremely wild species of horse from the Rocky Mountain chain. Living closer to the base, they only retreat up the mountain in the event of a fire or to keep from humans. The elusive species is a hardy breed, equipped to survive the harshest snow, and the hottest summers. With a delicate, yet hardy frame, (much like an Arabian mixed with a Quarter Horse type horse) they survive while not taking up too much space. Stallions are dominant, cruel beings. They only ever teat their mares with kindness, but are ruthless to other stallions. They kick out colts earlier than the feral horse would to decrease the risk of the colt getting any ideas. Mares are docile and will follow their herd stallion. Typically bonding with them early on, snaking from another herd is traumatizing. Usually the mare will find a way to bond with the stallion again, and mares will not usually be stolen more than a few times due to the territorial nature of the stallion.
