This contest is now closed. As I did not get any entries, I'm afraid there will be no winner. I'm sorry to anyone who was hoping to enter, but the deadline has come and gone, and I don't really want to drag this out any longer.

I will be happy to accept art of my characters as a regular commission any time, though, so just send me a message and we can work from there.

So, I've been commissioning art of my characters for a while now and have gotten some really great artwork from many talented artists. I've decided to make a contest out of it to get some art of my less frequently drawn characters. The rules/guidelines are simple:

• Any and all forms of artwork are welcome. This includes: traditional (please use a scanner if possible) or digital drawings, sculptures, animations, songs, or anything else you want to try.
• Each person may enter up to two pieces of art. If you want to change any of your entries, please edit your original post before the deadline.
• You may use more than one character in each entry; however, doing so will not necessarily increase your chances of winning.
• Creativity is far more important than skill, so whether or not you think you're a good artist, you have as much chance of winning as anyone else.
• If you have already drawn a character for me, you can still enter the contest, but please pick a different one to draw this time.
• I will never claim credit for your artwork, but I may use it elsewhere as character references, avatars, etc. If you don't want me to use your art, please let me know in your form.
• Everything must be your own work. If I find out your entry was copied from someone else, you will be disqualified and reported for art-theft. Please keep things fair for everyone and trust your own abilities!
• Feel free to post questions or comment on other people's entries (just remember to be constructive!) You can also PM me anytime if you want to say something privately, but I would like all final entries to be posted here so nothing gets lost.

This contest will end on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at midnight, Eastern Daylight Time (UTC/GMT-4). No late entries will be accepted, so be sure to post on time! Good luck!



Edit: Since I still haven't gotten any entries, I'm giving you all one more day to finish your artwork. The deadline is now Monday, July 28.

Please include at least one of the following characters in your entry. I am not open to receiving new character designs at the moment, so please do not ask.

The character descriptions are works-in-progress that I will probably add to over time. If there is something else you want to know about a character, feel free to ask.

Additional Information:

• You can draw any scene you want.
• I'm open to Kangee being drawn as a human, but please don't change species of the other two.
• Draexol and Aerro live in the same area and are enemies. If you draw them together, Aerro is slightly larger. I would prefer if Kangee is drawn alone because he lives in a different world.

Kangee - MLP character, male, black/dark gray pegasus blacksmith, fire cutie mark, always wears a black scarf around his neck and carries a sword.

Kangee is a loner who does not make friends easily but is fiercely loyal to the few he has. He is not unfriendly but tends to be socially awkward and prefers to keep others at a distance. While Kangee lacks "book smarts," he has a strong sense of reason. However, he can be headstrong and reckless at times if he feels his honor is at stake and will usually accept any challenge thrown at him, sometimes foolishly. He has a special talent handling fire and works as a blacksmith, which has made his body tough and strong. When not working, he practices his skills with the sword he made himself.

Draexol - male, huge brown wolf-dragon hybrid, wings, red eyes, three tails, lighter brown on underside of wings, black markings around eyes, fire on each paw, lightning bolt on each leg, yellow markings on each tail.

Draexol is my "villain" character. He's very cunning and aggressive. He will make any excuse for a fight and usually wins them. Because he's a great fighter, he is arrogant and proud of his strength, which he likes to strut around and show off. He controls lightning and can conjure a thunderstorm at will, usually without rain. When he gets angry, the yellow markings on his body glow brightly, his fur becomes extremely hot, and the flames surrounding his paws grow much bigger. In this state, Draexol gains super speed and the ability to breathe fire.

Aerro - huge brown and black eagle, golden eyes, three gray feathers on each wing, the sword is optional.

Aerro is part of a clan of giant fighting eagles known as the Skykor. The gray feathers on his wings shine silver in direct sun- and moonlight.

The winner will have their choice of up to two pets from this group (I use that group for all contests and auctions, so please make sure the pets you want are marked "Art Contest Prize.")

Alternative prize: Instead of receiving pets, the winner may choose to have me write them a short story (approximately 800-1000 words, or shorter if you wish) on the topic of their choice. You can read samples of my writing here. I'm best with fantasy and historical fiction, but I enjoy trying my hand at something different every so often, too. If you want me to write about your own character(s), please have a detailed description of their personality, appearance, likes/dislikes, etc. for me to work from.

I will also pick three runners up, who will each have their choice of up to three pets from Unknown Rarity Trades, Regular Trades, or a combination of the two.

Note: all prizes will be first come, first serve. My trade pets may also change between now and the end of the contest, so I apologize in advance if the runners up do not get exactly the pets they wanted. There are a lot of doubles, so hopefully this will not be a problem.
