welcome to the summer/fall
2014 Icelandic Pony Landsmót!


We welcome you to Bear Run Equestrian's first annual competition! Various disciplines, both art, writing, and collab based competitions, are waiting for you and your tolters, there's something for everyone. The Landsmót is a thrilling, nine day long competition filled with both friendly sport and fierce show of skill. (But do not worry, you will have enough time to finish your entries!)
The Landsmót is being hosted at Bear Run in Iceland, so all competitiors will be flown in both horse and human. (for the sake of the equestrian, adoptables, and icelandic rule, bear run is located in a near secluded piece of land bordered by mountains)


rules of requirement

- Tracing or coloring premade bases is not allowed, but reference pictures are admitted.
- All riders must be in formal/competition attire except for the endurance/shepherding
- All stables may enter up to two horses in each event (one writing, one art)
- If entering foals, they must of been born after august 1st.
- Any events with an * are mandatory.

You must register your stable/barn/ranch thread before you enter into the Landsmót. Provide a link to the horses' oekaki pages that you enter when you post your entry for them.

disciplines

You will have from now until October 31st to finish your entry.
Ignore the days~

*Day one - - arrival, all horses arrive in stable-custom warm blankets
Day two - - best of breed, mares and stallions drawn or written in best anatomy
Day three - - endurance race, entered horses will be on a two-day trek across iceland
--and later the little tots halter class, foals drawn or written for in-hand showing
Day four - - costume show, for the fun of best in dress!
Day five - - liberty, based on creativity
--horses and riders arrive from the endurance race!
Day six - - dressage, an effort based more serious competition
Day seven - - tolting classic, horses drawn or written racing in the pacing
Day eight - - shepherd's focus, a collab based sheep-herding event
Day nine - - departure

there will be seven-nine grand prize winners for best overall.

Arrival

- If written, can be in tolter's point of view or handler
- Writing may not exceed 300 words
- A custom stable blanket must be worn on the horse, either described or drawn.
- Background, simple or complex is not mandatory.

Best of Breed

- Handler does not have to be shown, but can be
- For art, must show full side body view of horse
- For writing, describe basically how your horse looks and performs in a conformation show

Endurance Race

- Go all out for this one, either in writing or art (but not like a new thread for writing or anything please)
- Tolters must be above four years of age
- If entered, endurance racers cannot compete in costume and liberty

- Foal must of been born after august first
- It is alright if your foal grows after you submit your entry
- Basically like B.O.B, but for foals

Tolting Classic

- Rider must be included
- Tolters are lined up at the starting gate, and do a fast, pacing tolt to the finish line
- Bonus points if you include other tolters, drawn or described/named racing too
- Besides that, draw or write anything that seems fit

Shepherd's Focus!

(sheepdogs can be included)
For Writing; work with a partner to complete a story about herding sheep
