Title: The Picture
Story:

No moonlight shines on the parking lot at the park. The pavement is old and cracked, with potholes dotting the ground like Swiss cheese. None of the street lights work, and trains trudge by so loudly that the thoughts of those in the parking lot are drowned out by loud clangs and thuds. An old, run-down recreation center sits on one end of the parking lot, while the other side faces the old park. There are legends of this park having mercury in the soil, though some people don't believe that this is so. The slides in the kid's section have large gaps and the wood chips are gathering mold.

A single car sits in the parking lot, her interior light shining dimly on her passengers. The car rocks from her passenger's actions within, bouncing up and down on her suspension like she's a trampoline. She's getting to old for this kind of activity, and she's seriously considering retiring at age forty-two. Suddenly, one of the passengers explodes out of the car and storms over to a nearby pay phone. They shove a coin into the pay phone's slot and dials someone else's phone number. The words are blurred, but the tone of the person's voice is exasperated to the point that they may burst in anger. The person holds an old, fading picture to their chest as they exchange curses with the person on the other end. As the conversation progresses, the person slams the picture onto the pay phone's cover. With a few final words, the person storms back to the car with smoke billowing out of their ears. The car zooms away, leaving a trail of water and smoke behind her. The passengers still yell at each other.

The picture now sits alone on the pay phone, waiting for someone to pick him up to take him away from the parking lot. He doesn't like the park because there are storm clouds brewing above and he doesn't want to get wet. He sits patiently, because he has to, and waits for someone to come pick him up before the rain comes. Time passes and he stays there all alone. A few cars come and leave, but no one stops at the pay phone. Most of the cars are old and the passengers homely or angry. Through time, the picture sits patiently, still waiting. The colors start to fade away from weathering; the sides start to fray. It collects its own mold, though never as much as the wood chips. To this day, it still waits.

It is a true history of something that really exist. I don't know whether this history exist on another places, but this is my thought. ( It can be that my English was really bad, because I'm from German, but that is not a reason to apologize.) It is a chapter from the darkest side of the history. Over 2000 years ago, there was a chinese king, maybe I have to say child. His name was Qin Shihuangdi and was born in 259 B.C. Maybe I have to say also that China was separated in more little Kingdoms. After his father died he assumed power over the QIN kingdom at the age of 13 under guardianship. "Shihuangdi" is more a "Proper Name", it is not his real name, but because of it, the people remember. They remember a megalomaniac man, that cruelly enforced autarchy against his family as well as politicians and military generals. He brutally conquered the feudal states of HAN, ZHAO, WEI, CHU, YUAN and QI, another little kingdoms. After this states became a "union", he declared himself "First Emperor of China" and know we have the meaning of "SHI HUANGDI". It means first august emperor or first God emperor. He was as much an open-minded reformer of his empire as he was a brutal autocrat. And here the history begins.
It is inexplicable, how this man, who seemed to be so unapproachable can love a woman or can love anything. It stands in no history book and no teacher teach it, but he get a daughter, an illegitimate daughter. Maybe, if he had known, he had a daughter, he had changed his character, but he had no choice. There is only an oral tradition about his daughter, which has descendants among the Chinese people today. She was a very shy girl and doesn't share her opinion to others, but she think a lot by herself. Nobody knew her secrets and feelings. Her mother and her lives on the street in the ascending China. After her mother noticed, that she was pregnant, she escape herself from the megalomaniac autocrat and she never came back to him. She escape herself away from China. Away from all. She took no food with her, when she flee. In the near of the Europe as we say today, the desperate mother lay herself on a field to made a break. She suffered from hunger and as she closed her eyes, she never opened it again and the daughter was alone.
Qin Shihuangdi died at the age of 50, a very high age for this time. Superstitious visions made him believe in life after death which he needed protection for. His court and his army were therefore symbolically buried together with him to strength and to protect him from evil powers. This army is known as the "The Qin Terracotta-Army".

I understand that you're from Germany, so your English grammar isn't all that awesome. However, I was able to read it very well and it was a very engaging story. Good job :)
