Story:
It was a time when wars could be started by a single dirty look, long-time allies could not be trusted, and everyone was nervous and on edge. Steps needed to be taken to ensure the safety of the country, so Experiment P was born.
Numerous once-illegal tests were done on many different animals, puppies and dogs expecially, and the sound of whimpering could be heard from the laboratory every night. These tests were carried out for months, but there was no gain from any of the tests. You see, the goal was to create tiny animal spies that could pass on useful information. These creatures needed to be intelligent, fast, and most of all, miniscule.
Not a single success was made until August 24th, 2010. Up until that date the smallest animals they had created were the size of adult chihuahuas, but on that day not one, but two litters of puppies was born with each pup the size of a silver dollar. Only two puppies survived their first week, the others were too frail to survive. A male and a female, and not even siblings! The scientists couldn't believe thier luck. They planned to breed these two in the hopes of creating more pups of their kind. In their excitement from their first success, the scientists neglected to notice a crucial flaw in their plan. The two pups were incredibly timid. They wouldn't hide quietly in cracks and corners, they would get scared and find something or someone to comfort them, ultimately ruining their mission. They wouldn't make good spies after all, but the scientists refused to give up.
More and more tests were done on these two pups specifically, but all they did was change the colours of the pups fur to purple and pink. The scientists soon realized that their only hope was the pups. The lives of the male and female pups changed over night. They were moved to a regular sized pen covered in pillows and toys. They were to be fed the best food the decreasing project budget could buy. Everyone held their breath until the day when the female had her pups, but when that day came, all their dreams were smashed to pieces. The pups had the same temperment as the adults, and the same conspicuous fur.
The scientists were desperate, and were forced to perform even more tests. The only outcome of the tests was more and more timid tiny pups with strange fur markings.
Eventually, realizing that this was going nowhere, the government gave up on this plan, and decided to try their luck with robotics instead, But that still left the problem of what to do with the test subjects. Most of the animals had not been affected much by the tests and were released into the wild, but that left the problem of what to do with the tiny pups.
The scientists didn't want to, but the only option they saw was to "put down" the remaining animals. Things weren't looking good for the animals, when one of the scientist had an idea.
He had told his daughter about the animals, and she had asked why they couldn't be put up for adoption. When he proposed this solution to his colleagues this idea they were all for it with only one conditon: the agencies had to be for these creatures and nothing else to prevent the breeding of more "alien" species.
Using donations from the scientists, and the remaining project funds, the scientist and his daughter created an adoption agency for the pups. On the day before the Grand Opening, the first male and female and their pups were delivered to the scientist's daughter. The second she saw the tiny pups she fell in love. They were the most adorable things she had ever seen, and she couldn't give them up. She named the parents Prince and Violet, and the pups Lily, Scamp, Princessa, and Caesar. The girl liked playing with these pups so much, and their shy tendencies gradually lessened, but as she got to know them better, she noticed their love of hiding and sleeping in purses. This got her thinking, and she decided to make a tiny purse for each pup that got adopted.
That night, her father asked her what she wanted to call the adoption agency. She hadn't even thought about that, but suddenly, she had a great idea for a name; PPPE, Purse Pups Purple Emporium, after the purple pups of the first litter she got, and the species love of hiding in purses.

Emerald:

Out of all the animals at the lab, Emerald had it the hardest. He had been brave when he was younger, an energetic pup, and the scientists noticed it.
He was seperated from his family and put in a cage all by himself. Tests were done on him daily for weeks without end, and his natural excess of energy slowly drained away. He stopped fighting and submitted himself to the tests. It was as if something had died inside of him.The scientists lost interest in him, and he was slowly forgotten. Nobody remembered to feed him, and he gradually went hungry. It wasn't until the scientists were preparing his siblings for the move to the adoption agency that someone remembered the him.
When they found him he was in critical condition. His skin was stretched tight around his skeleton, and he didn't have the strength to even lift a paw. He was rushed to a vet as fast as possible. The vet wasn't sure she could save him, and the scientists were too stricken with guilt to think clearly. By this time word had reached Imp, the scientist's daughter and owner of PPPE. She rushed to the hospital as fast as she could. When she saw the dying pup she ran to him and picked him up. She cradled him in the palm of her hand and swaddled him in her sleeve. She rocked him back and forth and sat with him all night. She fed him, cared for him, and gave him something he had been deprived of all his life. She gave him love.
Under her care he gradually regained his health, and eventually he was well enough to leave the vet clinic, and be put up for adoption. His siblings had already been adopted, but their new owners brought them to visit. Watching the little pup play and jump with his siblings, Imp realised that she couldn't give him to someone else. She had fallen in love with the little pup as she nursed him back to help, and she could never say goodbye to him.
Emerald adjusted quickly to life with Imp and her other pups. He became an important part of the family, and his health improved rapidly.

Story:
"It was a long bus ride to the Grade 7 camp, and I spent most of it drawing, chatting, looking out the window, or taking pictures. This was the trip that most kids at my school had dreamt of since kindergarten. Grade 6 camp had been okay, but their were strict rules, and a teacher in every cabin. So much for late night gossip! Older students had told us that Grade 7 camp was the best camp ever! Most people affectionatly referred to it as "resort camp" due to its large pool, free wi-fi, cool activities, and the fact we were allowed to bring electronic devices for free time.
At the camp we would have a bunch of activities we would get to do in a day, there was a ropes course, a team obstacle course, a pool, horse riding, archery, a petting zoo for free time. The first day at camp was great! I loved all of the activities even though I was a bit small for archery. The only activities we didn't get to do the first day were the team obstacle course, swimming, and horse riding. The food that night at dinner was great! So was breakfast the next morning, and I couldn't wait for lunch! Right after breakfast we headed straight to the obstacle course which was amazing as well! I couldn't wait for horse riding. The people who had already done it were buzzing about a horse they called "the zorse", I had seen her when other groups had passed by, and I had to admit that she was a pretty horse. When it was our turn to ride horses, I couldn't believe my luck when I got her! I am a smaller person, and she was a smaller horse. It was a match made in camp heaven. She was a difficult horse to ride, she always would pull her head down to eat grass, but since I was a the end of the line it didn't matter much. No matter how much she irritated me, I enjoyed riding her, and found I really liked her. Even though I had to leave camp and Ponkey behind, I never forgot about my beautiful horse."
