'Kay, watched a movie, sorry about that. Questions to answer:
"Does it hurt to eat with them - and what not to eat?"
Actually, A lot after you've had them corrected and of course after you got them on, yes. Also, if you have the amazing ability to rip your lips on the braces(because I know you will at some point) it will hurt even to talk. I've had scars in my mouth the past four months, so I should know. You'll learn to live with it, though.
You can eat basically everything just CHEW CAREFULLY. I still eat chocolate and everything else: And I'm allowed to by my dentists. Even so, I am told over and over again to eat carefully. For me, the brackets fall off because I grind my teeth in my sleep.
"Is it hard to brush your teeth?"
No, it isn't. In the beginning, yes. Your toothbrush CAN get stuck, but it's easily pulled out again. Just do what you normally do, just more often. I brush my teeth about four times a day, instead of two.
"What about fizzy drinks?"
You can drink those. I don't see any reason not to. But brush your teeth afterwards, because it's easier for your teeth to rot with braces on: Because there are some places you can't reach.
Mouth wash helps little to none at all. You should use an average toothbrush and a thin toothbrush, so you can brush between the wire and your teeth.
"What to do if the wire falls off?"
I'm an expert at this one. Find a mirror and a CLEAN tweezers and just pull your cheek out and push the wire in again. Only works with the thinnest wire, because the tweezers aren't super strong.
"Anything else?"
Well, a good idea when you've gotten your braces is to take a pain-killer. It really will help you, especially when eating. If you are going to eat something solid right away, then keep it in your mouth a little while and chew super carefully. It will take a war, but it won't hurt so much.
That's all I could come up with. o u o Hope it helps.
