Re: The Daemian Union (TDU) (Posting open! Welcome!)

Social (interacting with people)
-Plain and simple: do you enjoy being around people? How many?
I prefer small groups of people. I'd rather be around one other person since in groups of three I'm always left out. But if it's a bigger group [Not huge, maybe 10 being max] of people I know I won't mind since there is always someone to talk to.
-Do you have fun at large parties, or would you have more fun with a small group of friends?
Small group of friends
-Do you feel more energized when you're with people, or does it drain you? Do you need to be alone to "recharge," so to speak?
Drains me. And yes I do need to be alone to kind of "recharge".
-How do you behave differently around strangers from around friends?
I'm very loyal to good friends but around people I know I'm quiet and barely say anything. I don't like awkward situations.
-What kind of a reputation do you have?
The quiet girl who draws too much.
-Are you a part of a certain "clique" or do you tend to make friends with everyone?
I'm not really in a clique but I do have a group of friends I mainly trust at school. We have friends outside our group but most of us don't hangout with people outside the group.
-Do you find it easy to trust others?
No. I trust few people.
-Are you comfortable being trusted yourself?
I'm fine being trusted. :3
-When you've wronged someone, how quickly do you apologize, if at all? Do you find it easy to "own up," or more difficult?
I can own up pretty easily if I believe I did something wrong. If I'm sure I'm right I won't own up.

Intellectual (work ethic and learning process)
-Do you prefer to work alone, or in a group?
Alone
-How do you respond to criticism?
I overreact. I can handle it but I always think some person will say something nasty about what they are criticizing. Than when I read it I go "that wasn't so bad."
-What's your learning style? Do you learn better from visual demonstrations, from listening,or from experiences? Do you need to study something more to learn it or do you seem to just pick it up from the start? Are you better at more analytical studies (math and science) or memorization of facts (history, etc.)?
I'd say visual. And I need to study a tad more. And I'd say probably memorizing facts. I suck at math.
-How artistic are you, and what sorts of art do you enjoy (music, painting, drawing, writing)?
I used to play the recorded and flute, and I love to write and draw. I've been drawing since I was five and I would take an art class but the art teacher at my school sucks and there are no art classes for anatomy/animals/anime/manga here. Only painting and sculpting.
-Are you athletic? What sports do you enjoy, if any?
I'm not athletic but I enjoy swimming, and walking. Does good reflexes count? XP
-How curious are you?
I'd say the middle. Like I know when there is a bad and good time to be curious. XP
-Do you feel the need to have a plan, or do you prefer to "go with the flow"?
I ussually don't need to plan.. But I do when needed. Ussually plans come to me but once I have them I write them down and use them as a guideline.
-When you have work to do, how do you pace yourself?(i.e. are you a procrastinator?)
I'm a procrastinator on small things but on big assignments I want to get them done.
-Are you organized, or more messy?
I try to keep things organized but they always end up messy.
-Are you a highly focused individual, or are you more easily distracted?
I can stay focused unless people are breathing weird, coughing, spitting up mucus, etc. XP
-Do you prefer to keep things simple, or do you like lots of detail?
Detailed. <3 I got in trouble with my teacher for my suitcase story being too detailed.
-When something is out of place, how strong is your need to correct it?
A lot. If it has a home I tend to want to put it there. When I was little I use to fix toy aisles when stuff cluttered the floor. XD

Emotional (thoughts, feelings, and reactions)
-What do you look for in a potential boyfriend or girlfriend?
Personality mostly. And as long as there not super odd looking I'm fine. I'm straight but I have only had one crush in my 15 year life span. Sure I know what guys girls like but I have never really thought of a boy as "hot". But that's because I tend to need to know there personality before I can call them "hot". Like the one boy I had a crush on [Which was in 5th grade] I didn't get a crush on him till the end of year when I started talking to him.
-How would you react to a boyfriend or girlfriend? Would you be obsessive, protective, clingy, detached? How would you show affection?
I've never dated in rl but I have dated online which was not healthy for me. I found out I'm quite clingy and want the person to message me when he's on. I got antsy when they didn't respond. I don't come off as clingy though since I keep my mouth shut.
-How do you react when you're angry at someone? Do you confront them directly or use your anger in other ways? (i.e. are you passive-aggressive)
When I'm angry I tend to keep it in and mutter to myself. But if I get too angry I tell them my mind then walk away. Sometimes I blank out after the fact since I'm still angry. Like one guy tried to take credit on work I did when he was suppose to do it. He stole my work I put under the project (I typed it), copied it on paper, and hid my work in his binder and put his under the project. Luckily I made sure he put the papers back (He had the papers but he said he was copying our names) and found out mine was missing and went over to him and got angry at him. -_- All he had to do was make a list of what each cell part would be in the cell city but he didn't do it. I did his part AND I built the actual cell city! Sure he bought dollar store stuff, but he bought it before we knew what we needed.
-How sensitive are you?
Used to be very sensitive though I tend to shrug it off now. Like the boy that I talked about above threw a paper at me that said the B word [I knew it was him because it had his hand writing] and I said "Well! I see I'm doing my job!" And I laughed. :3
-Are you a "touchy-feely" person?
Not really
-Are you very sure of yourself, or are you more prone to doubt?
More middlish.
-Do you hold grudges? How long? Would you seek revenge on your enemies, so to speak?
I can hold grudges for a long time though I tend to not show it. Most grudges are short lived though.
-How important is forgiveness to you? Consider both others forgiving you and you forgiving others.
You should forgive someone the first time it happens, but if it's a constant thing you don't need to forgive them in till they show they can change.
-How do you express your feelings? When you're sad, do you cry or bottle it up inside? Does talking with others help or do you like to deal with your feelings by yourself (or with your daemon)?
I bottle up my feelings. My mom every time I share something with her points out my flaws in the matter even if it's completely the other person's fault. I am now sharing my feelings with Azella since she seems to be the motherly voice I've always wanted. The one that goes 'it will be okay sweetie.'
-Do you have a temper? Are you quick to anger, or do you take things in stride?
I'm pretty much calm 99% and tend to think about things. Except there are about 4 people that make me angry all the time. My art teacher, this girl in my math and art class who is a psycho and calls herself the b word, another psycho girl who lies in my math class (She told us she once saw a leprechaun in Germany and has video of it) and thinks she knows it all when she doesn't, and my Dad.

Personal (all other traits)
-Do you prefer to talk or to listen?
I like to listen but as long as the other party gives me a chance to talk I'm good. I hate people who talk about there problems but just babble on and don't let you give input.
-Do you prefer to lead or to follow?
Lead but I end up following more
-How protective are you? Are you more protective of people or things?
I'm more protective of things and very very close friends.
-Are you more independent or dependent? Consider parents, friends, and strangers.
Independent. I don't like depending on people [Excluding parents since I don't have a job :<]
-How would you react to being in a strange place all by yourself? How about with your friends or your family?
When I'm in a strange place I tend to observe and see whats going on. I also tend to be wary. And if I'm with friends or family I tend to make them go first.
-What time of day are you more active? Do you work best during certain times and play best during others?
I wish I was one of those people that slept during the day and moving during the night but there isn't anything on TV at night. And I don't think I work best at times but I do ussually do homework late at night.
-Would you consider yourself more playful, or serious?
I would say I know when there is a time for them, since I can't put myself as one or the other.
-How would you describe your sense of humor?
Dry Humor/Sarcastic.
-Is your appearance important to you?
I think as long as you look semi good you're fine. No need to over do it and get an orange tan or apply layers of make-up.
-How do you dress? Would you say that you have "fashion sense"? Are you a flashy dresser, or do you prefer to blend in with the crowd?
I don't wear clothing I would like to since the ones around here I made for stick people but I don't blend into the crowd, but than again I don't stick out either.
-Are you proud of your good qualities? Would you brag about them, or are you more modest?
My qualities are more in my personality but I don't brag about them. But I do love my personality though. XP
-Are you a "show-off"?
No
-How do you go about getting what you want? Are you manipulative, earnest, or driven? I ussually get what I want in item wise but if I don't I shrug it off and wait for the price to drop. As for other things I ussually don't since I tend to choose the non popular option. I get angry but if the majority wants what I don't want, than so be it.
-Can you pass up a bargain or a sale?
If it's something I want I'll buy it. Like I bought a dog wash cloth for 2$ just because it was cute and the original was 14$
-Do you tend to keep objects even when they've outlived their usefulness, just because you have trouble letting go?
If it's something that has meaning I'll keep it [My dead pokemon markers] but if it's something I don't need [Like old MacDonald toys] I can get rid of them.
-Do you collect or hoard things?
I used to collect rocks, and stuff animals. But now I collect fortune cookies fortunes. 8D I have about 200 from friends and family [Good thing they have a Chinese/Asian line at my school! Lol].
-How loyal are you to those you love?
Very loyal unless you aren't loyal to me or show you don't like me.
-When you have a belief, do you hold to it very strongly, or are you more likely to question it?
I hold on to it. And if someone tries to question it I'll try to explain.
-Are you more optimistic or pessimistic? Does it change depending on the situation?
I'm pessimistic inside but optimistic outside.
-Do you prefer your environment to be clean or do you mind it being messy?
Clean but it always ends up messy.
-How are you and authority? Do you obey without question, challenge just for the sake of challenging, or do you let your moral compass be your guide?
I obey authority excluding my dad. He has lost all my trust and respect due to how rude he is.
-Do you enjoy life in a hierarchy? How would you rank yourself? Do you enjoy being at that "rank"?
I'm more of a loner so no... but if I had a rank
-Do you enjoy helping others? Or, do you need to be needed? When someone needs something from you, would you help willingly, enthusiasticly, or grudgingly?
I'll help people when they need it to be kind but I'd rather help myself first.
-When you're passionate about something, how long does it stick? Are you obsessed for a period of time only to become burned out? How long does that take?
I tend to get very passionate for a period of time but than it slowly dies down. Eventually I'll get passionate about it again though.
-What would you describe as the perfect day?
Alone with my Shih Tzu Chase doing what I feel like. Watching my favorite shows and stuff. Or swimming. <3
-How about the perfect vacation?
On the beach swimming or going to Japan. <3
-Do you like to keep secrets? Do you have a lot of "skeletons in your closet"?
I have many secrets (Nothing major. I'm still a virgin, never snuck out of my house, and have never done drugs) but I prefer to not keep secrets
-Are you a worrier? How does worrying about things affect you? What sorts of things worry you more than others?
I am a paranoid worrier. I can worry about lots of things but after the fact I go 'that wasn't so bad.'
-How open are you to change? If you suddenly moved to an all new town, how would you react?
I'm open to change unless it sounds horrible. And if I moved somewhere new I wouldn't mind at all. I hate where I live.
-Are you a picky eater? How about with other things? Do you like to try new things?
No with both, and I love trying most new things.
-Are you subject to paranoia?
Not drastically but I'd say a small of amount of it.
-Do you go to great lengths to protect yourself from danger, both actual and emotional?
Extremely far lengths. I have never broken a bone at all. :3
-Do you feel very sure of yourself, or more insecure? Think in terms of your physical appearance, emotional vulnerability, relationships, or anything else you'd like to add.
I'm very insecure about all those things. I don't think I'm pretty at all plus I'm overweight. I think my face is too round since my mom has sea section, and I don't like opening myself to people.

SkyeFeather wrote:How did you find all of your daemon's name? I'm just trying to string together random syllables, to be honest XD Is that how you are supposed to do it? Or am I supposed to use one that's important to me? I don't even know, man.

I had the name loooong before the daemon. I looked up names on sites a loooong time ago, and I liked the look of "Rhys" - I, however, mispronounced it as "RHIZ". Risi I picked up later, learning it was latin verb for "Laugh" - and that's something that's a big part of who I am - I brush off arguments with laughter, I crack a joke to comfort people, I laugh easily and readily and have a hard time resisting an opportune wordplay. In high school, my "fursona" - though I wasn't involved with the Furry community at AALLL was an anthropomorphic raccoon - Alternatively Risi/Rhisi/Risii... When I first got in touch with my daemon - coming in on two years ago, I tried to give him a "daemony" name. Something with an X or whatever. Rhisii said "Eff, no, you know what it is, stupid." -- Later the "-ka" was added to give it a little more masculinity and a touch more formal - He's "Rhiz" or "Rhisii" most commonly though - but names come.

Give it thought, give it time, page though a Latin/Japanese/Welsh/Czechoslovakian dictionary for ideas - browse sites like "Behind the Name". And there's no such thing as a "boring" name. Revolver Ocelot's Foo has one of my favorite daemon names I've heard, actually. Play with letters in familiar syllables - maybe this is just the Utahn in me (Utah has the weirdest baby names ever - we totally outclass ghetto names in weirdousity) but, for instance, I liked Rhisiika better than Rhisika - and I've played with Rhysiika. I feel like a name should have a good textual texture along with it's verbal texture, y'know? It's why I call myself "Skidd" and not "Skid" - Skidd looks more "namey" and it has more "oomph", and less to do with whatever connotations you have for "Skid".

BAH. OUSTED ON MY SNEAKING. FFFFUUU.

Planning eliminates most procyons, IMO - and a bit more passive than procyons? By which I mean desire to blend into the shadows. Procyons are GOOD at it, and they do that when they feel the need - but amongst their friends, they open up and can become vivacious and even loud. Procyons also tend to be not too terribly harsh on themselves - in my talking with Aleya - basically it sums up to we have a somewhat pessemistic view, but in the end we know everything will work out, so why worry? Procyons also generally have relatively long fuses - but when you finally get to the end of the fuse, they can snap. Also sense of humor, possessiveness, self-achieving vs. manipulation, ability to change say "Not really Procyonish" to me - but I can see where people are getting it.

I'm thinking possibly a mustelid with a smaller, more wary vibe? I also like pack rat. Pack rat is STILL one of my absolute favorite forms - and it looks like it would fit well, in my opinion.

Edit: ^ This is in response to Gaiina - If you ever want to talk coons - I'm the one you want to see! x3 Beginning of July will make two years in coon form.

That's perfectly fine with me. I'm still paranoid I wrote too much but the more the more accurate. XP I need to go to bed now though. D8

Jackals are pretty flexible, but most live with 'helpers' i.e. juveniles from previous litters who don't breed but help out with the family. If you youtube "Home Helpers: Jackals" or something like that, you can see a preview of what I mean (its pay to watch though )': )

Those helpers are from prior litters, aka family members. I'm tolerant of people I consider family, and yes, I would count them in my "hierarchy". >.O Which, granted, is a little skewed, but to be honest i don't expect to find an animal that fits me 100%. Just because I see myself as pretty dominant (and not in the general hierarchy with my peers) doesn't mean I don't think everyone else has one. The whole dominant pair with everyone else below would be exactly how my hierarchy would be if I actively had one. xP

Family doesn't have to be taken literally here. It can include close friends too. Umm, you say in your RAs:

I don't really feel as if I partake in the social hierarchy, though I know it exists.

I don't really see myself in a hierarchy (though I place others in one), but if I were to be forced to figure out a rank I would likely be in the upper-middle.

Jackals rely on hierarchy. They "refer" to it when meeting new people in new situations and are constantly watching the ranks to see who they can boss and who they have to watch their toungue around. I for one am extremely bossy around those I consider lower than me (most people ;D ) but put on a pretty charming, nice facade for people I know can put me in a time out.
Edit: Before anyone says that everyone does this, let me stress that a jack finds these rankings to be veeery important. If they can't get a hold on the situation, they get stressed and shy and unhappy. I have a several friends with no sense of hierarchy whatsoever who will talk to adults like they are other teens, but I feel straight up impudent if I'm not formal with strange adults. These same friends might also start a new job and jump into the conversation, but I have trouble doing this when the people there already know eachother because that means I'm in a lower rank. If I start a new job with a bunch of other newbies, however, I will easily be myself and become rather dominant right away. So, hierarchy can totally change my actions.

And though they have been known to singly attack, they rarely do. Actually, I belive BBJ's diets are something like 46% veggie matter. BBJ's are more quarrelsome in the pack, but again quarrels are a part of maintaining stability, not explosions of anger.

Like I said, I don't usually attack something by myself if I feel that it's a big threat. Don't jackals (maybe just goldens) kill foxes- something smaller than them? However, the black-backed also "dominate [side-striped] in direct encounters", even though side-striped jackals are smaller (i'm sure you already know this; it's just easier for me to write as I go XD). Something else (that I'm just personally interpreting) I read was that black-backs typically go for the throat, whereas goldens go for the belly- another aspect of how they fight, perhaps? Also, I relate to the maintaining stability as well: You’re very aggressive and have no qualms showing those you consider ‘lower’ than you their rightful place. If someone I feel is below me tries to get testy, I definitely bite back. Some things HAVE to have order, LOL.

But see, a jackal wouldn't go for the throught when arguing with her little brother. The pack DOES need order, but not a bunch of dead little puppies. :( So it depends how you are looking at these encounters, I guess. If you are really trying to maintain some semblance of stability and just reminding someone of their place, that's one thing, but if you are just freaking out at the person to dominate them, that might be a little different. BBJ's in particular are tough love, but they still love. That's interesting about the attack styles. ^-^ Total guess, but it might have something to do with food choice. Animals tend to do the strangle-throat thing with smaller prey, and the belly-ripping with big deer things. Some populations of BBJ's eat sea lion babies so that might be why they are more the throat ripping type.

I sorta re-read your analysis and I still don't really see jackal. I get a much stronger small mammal vibe. I hope you don't see that as an insult or anything, cuz its not. (LOL you're such a small mammal. Go get caught in a mouse trap >:D ) I honestly don't get canine at all. Your sense of hierarchy is off (despite being not very social, jackals are very hierarchical), and I believe you are still iffy on monogamy? Like I said in your RA, the one mate thing is one of the big things jacks are known for (the other being death).

Only problem with that is that I looked at basically every single "small mammal", and every spiny thing, the skunk, the wild cats, the wild dogs, the mustelids, the dasyurids, rats, possums, mice, squirrels, the mongooses, the kangaroos, the snakes, most of the treethings, several frogs, a lot of the birds- basically everything- and nothing fit me as well as the jackal. You may not see it, but I definitely do. xD I'm having others read it as well; there's only a few people I feel like I can tell about Les in general, though, but when I get the three opinions back I'll feel a bit better about it. And of course I'll keep researching it. ^^;

OH, and the monogamous thing is one reason why I like the jackals so much, LOL. I'm a faithful partner. In the past, I'd have to say I wasn't, but I've definitely matured in that aspect. My polygamous aspects were involving closeness of friends, plans/career choices, loyalty (a lack thereof to everyone but Mitchell and my dad, really), and my approach to long-term friendships.

Anyway, of course I plan to keep looking at other forms. I have six more tabs open right now with various creatures XD The jackal, though, is what we're gonna work with right now.

@stop.turning.blue- Civets are a no. Already looked ^^; And as for ego, I'm arrogant. It's my first point on my Lumi RA. XD
[/quote]

Aww now, there are a ton more animals out there. Don't settle on scruffy dead-eating things. ;D Jk jk. Seriously, though, I wouldn't restrict yourself to one animal. I found the golden analysis about a year exactly before I declared myself settled and I looked at many other animals to make sure.

Er, monogamy. Again, its one of those things that can't only be taken literally. I don't know if you've read those other threads on TDF about monogamy, but it doesn't just have to do with relationships. Jackals are loyal to the things they really like in EVERY aspect of their life. This also have to do with their territorialness. From my own experience and what I've observed of other jackal souls, we stick to our original obsessions. My favorite movies are still Lion King and Jurassic Park, simply because I "bonded" with them stupid as it sounds. I've wanted a career in animals since I --and my parents-- could remember. If you look at the posts I make about my friends, 98% of them are about my cow-soul'ed friend, whom I suppose is sort of my jackal-mate. I have a ton of interests and small, passing obsession, and I am generally a jack-of-all-trades, but the things I really attach myself to stick with me for life.

I still think jackal isn't right for you, but I guess you know you so keep doing your research. I would look at mongooses again too. All animals vary a good bit, so I don't think you have really totally exhuasted your small-mammal options. ;) Don't just read the analyses: go to Animal Diversty Web and see what you can find. It has lots of good info.

I went Analysis hunting today. I thought to myself that I should try more daemon forms...And have come up with a possibility whilst searching through The Daemon Page.
The Red Bishop Bird fitted me quite a bit, and these are some of the best fitting points:
-Become uneasy about things you don't know or don't think you're ready to handle.
I'm like this all the time with new things. I'm actually quite scared of things that I don't think I can handle, like working. I'm 14, and most of my friends are looking into getting part-time jobs. But I'm really uneasy about the whole 'part-time' thing...
-Generally don't like being home alone, though sometimes feel the need to isolate yourself.
I hate being home alone, I'm not sure why though. Because sometimes I just feel like I need to seperate from everyone else and have alone time. I get really nervous when I'm by myself in a house.
-Highly protective; will threaten others if they "cross the line"; occasionally fight, but more often take just enough action to scare an opponent; once a person displays respect, aggression decreases.
Being a slightly short-tempered person, I always get angry if someone decides to insult or frighten my closest friends/family. I don't want to fight them (partly because I know I'll lose), but just give them a sharp warning.
-Gaps do not exist in your knowledge; facts are fitted firmly in place, though some may say you are close-minded.
Most of the people around me call me close minded because I can't take a new idea into perspective. To say the least, I think I'm right all the time, and don't like changing my knowledge on a topic.
-Like to take things in small steps.
I've gotten two assignments this week, which both need to be finished by next Friday. I'm half-way through them, but mum keeps telling me to speed up and stop being so slow with my work. But I LIKE taking small steps, and I hate it when I feel rushed and/or pressured to do/finish something.

I'm still looking through them all, but right now this is the one that fits me most. If anyone else has another analysis on the red bishop bird, I'd be really pleased if you showed me it. :D

#1: My friends are my family. My family is split, so I'm very loyal to my home, which happens to be where my dad is, but beyond that anyone I accept as a best friend becomes like blood to me. I said I know it exists, and I'm fairly certain somewhere else I said that I put people into one. Because I'm quiet and fairly wary of my surroundings, I'm a huge people-watcher. That's basically the reason I go to parties. Like you, I'm very, very bossy, and also don't let myself get sassed by someone who thinks they're on top- because usually, they aren't. If someone I know is below me- or even at my level- gets snippy, I get snippy right back. I'm on top. Yes, I said I'm in the middle, but that's with everyone at the party- and not everyone at the party would have the same view that I do. If they can't get a hold on the situation, they get stressed and shy and unhappy. I have a several friends with no sense of hierarchy whatsoever who will talk to adults like they are other teens, but I feel straight up impudent if I'm not formal with strange adults. You're describing me, whether you think you are or not. xD I don't automatically feel like I'm in a lower rank at a random social event, but at my first day of work, I would. My first two weeks at my new job I was quiet, docile, and fairly submissive, even to people my age or younger, because they had been there longer. I'm the newest person by about a year, but I'm the one getting the promotion soon- I just tend to come out on top. And I don't even work -that- hard; I just do a good job by default. If I start a new job with a bunch of other newbies, however, I will easily be myself and become rather dominant right away. So, hierarchy can totally change my actions. IMO, it can change everyone's actions. I am the same way, however, though I'm pretty quick to adapt to things like new jobs. I prefer to have a safe place, like home, but I've made my work another safe place. Not sure if this is making sense or not. Oh, and not sure if it makes any difference towards jackals, but I do know that I'm below my parents and I give them the proper respect.

Where did I say I'd go for my little brother's throat? o.o; I only meant that perhaps that could be interpreted that black-backs are more direct in their attack style. Domination comes along with reminding someone that they have a place, which seems like would lead to greater stability down the road because the person who got out of line wouldn't be so quick to try it again. Again, it's all up to the individual's interpretation- including every single analysis on TDF XD

LOL...I'm quickly running out of animal analyses to look at. (; I looked at possums, rats, and skunks first because those were suggested to me, and the entire rodentia family is wrong. xD I'd argue that the mustelid family fits rather well, as well as the Tasmanian devil, but both of those were shot down pretty fast and frankly I'm not going to bother stating my case after finding something that fits so much better. Grandidier's mongoose is still hanging, but it's the only competition for the black-backed. And it's not winning >.> And as for being settled, I'm stable in the very least- I've had the same personality for two or three years now, and before that it was only a tad different. I'm leaning towards claiming "settled", but don't want to take the plunge yet. I might be moving out soon, and that'll

I believe I stated somewhere that I'm very territorial and very obsessive? And Beth (I think) gave me a very good description on polygamy vs. monogamy, which is why I now know that some aspects (need for extra friends) are "polygamous", and others (mate for life) are "monogamous". I'm not sure if by this: From my own experience and what I've observed of other jackal souls, we stick to our original obsessions. My favorite movies are still Lion King and Jurassic Park, simply because I "bonded" with them stupid as it sounds. I've wanted a career in animals since I --and my parents-- could remember. If you look at the posts I make about my friends, 98% of them are about my cow-soul'ed friend, whom I suppose is sort of my jackal-mate.

...you were trying to set yourself apart from me, but I could have written that, showed it to a friend, and they would have thought it was me. What's even funnier is that Lion King is my favorite disney movie and always has been...but anyway, I understand the "bonded" thing because I'm very much the same way, except more-so with books than movies. I never watched TV much. :3 But Stellaluna, The Sleep Book, Animalia, and The Cottage At the End of the Lane are still my favorites, and when I'm down I tend to have Mitch read me one, or in the very least look through Animalia. xP And I've bounced around careers (hmm...quite a lot, though some of them [police officer, teacher, and biochemical engineer] only lasted about two days in my head), but my only serious obsessions have been with veterinary school, (worked at a vet office for two years and learned the hard way that it is not more saving than letting go >.>), wildlife conservation, and comparative psychology, which I'm going to school in the fall for. And I don't have a cow-soul friend, but you may have noticed I bring up Mitchell quite often, because he's both my partner and best friend <3

Don't just read the analyses: go to Animal Diversty Web and see what you can find. It has lots of good info.

Yep, I love it. Although the talent of the artwork does make me a tad jealous :C

I'm not gonna get into this, because all I know are tanukis and tanuki-like other-type things (which are like the anti-dog, lol), but it looks like you've only looked into carnivores? Without reading any of this and without reading your analysis, leaving out herbivores is cutting yourself off from a huge part of the animal kingdom.

I feel like such an idiot.
For a long time I have adored Raccoons, and after researching more about them, it is astonishing how similar we are.

So, I'd like to say that my dear daemon is now trying a Raccoon form. So he isn't as settled as I had thought. ^^;;

Also, I am angry with myself. They "names" which I had chosen, Taesherin and Onyxtherum, were just random thrown together sylables with no real meaning.

So, once again, here I am.

Me, and Fray.

I feel like you are starting to talk yourself into jackal. It seems that you've reversed some of your traits since you wrote your RA. xD You said a few post ago and on your original RA that you have polygamous tendencies, but now you seem to be pushing for monogamy. I think you missed my point a little on the hierarchy, and I you still aren't exhibiting what I'd imagine a jackal would show with ranking systems. Not accusing you of anything; I sorta talked myself into black phase red fox for a while. I say just take a step back. I'm not trying to drive you away from the form bc I'm possesive. I know that I'm too cool for anyone to really be like me. 8-) BUT I honestly don't think jackal works for you, and since I know more than most people about when it comes to daemonism, I value my word. I agree with Khesia about looking at herbivores too. They aren't wimpy types at all.
