@Comanche I really want a Sheltie from the older lines-- Shelties were total couch potatoes until recently, I remember reading. I'd love a couch potato Sheltie to chill with my couch potato Papillon. I kinda sorta want an army of teeny dogs. >___> Whippet, Klee-Kai, Sheltie, Papillon, Shiba, Mini Aussie, Mini Poodle, Mini Schnauzer, Pomeranian... What else... Maybe a long-haired Chihuahua, 'cause those are decently cute.

And the Sheltie will be in charge of everyone. We used to have a little Chihuahua/Yorkie mix and our Sheltie would grab his neck and steer him all over the house. He herds everything. But I don't really consider them that small? Or maybe I'm just not used to big dogs, since I've yet to own any. XD

And they actually are pretty chill, until you get the leashes or toys out. Unless you count barking. Lots and lots and lots of barking.

Whippets are gorgeous. My aunt owns a Whippet, he's teeny. XD It's adorable. Klee Kai's are win.

Lol, that probably depends on how well I train them. I wonder how the herding dog Sheltie would get along with a herding dog Aussie, ho-hum!

And yeah, I guess they aren't that small, but they're about the size of my Papillon, who I consider to be a small dog.

Well, what I heard was that more recently they started being bred to be uberspaz agility dogs, which is why I'd prefer an older-line one. I dunno how accurate that is, partially because I don't remember where I read/watched/etc it. x3

Hm, they can be uberspazz, but I've always seen that on a dog-by-dog basis. So depending on how good you are at judging puppies, they can be rather mellow or an agility dog. And a lot of it depends on motivation, too - mine will get all excited over specific things, but his default setting tends to be couch potato. I never heard they were being bred for agility, though I guess it is a little different from being bred for herding. I'll have to exercise my google-fu. XD
