I went on TDF (as a guest of coarse) and the small mammal fits me almost perfectly. A porcupine would be classified as a "Small Mammal" right? I'm smaller than a normal Porcupine, so that would work.

What size you project your daemon as doesn't matter at all. Some people don't even have a daemon to project and yet they still have a form. For instance, just because your daemon takes the form of an elephant and you project it as rat-sized, doesn't make an elephant a small mammal. Whether you project your daemon as a whale sized porcupine or an ant sized porcupine is nothing to do with the analysis. We're analysing the animal, not your preference in size of projection.

This is why comfort forms exist. You may be a dog person, for instance, but have a fear of dogs and can't project your daemon as one, so your daemon takes another form that you feel comfortable in. This doesn't mean that the comfort form fits you, just that it's a comfortable form you use instead of your actual form.

Consider, though - isn't it better to spend some time figuring out who you really are, and what really represents you, rather than just doing what is easy? Sure, it might be harder to face up to the fact that really you're a tabby-cat soul, or a shrike, or a domestic cow, rather than what you're used to seeing yourself as. Sometimes it's really difficult to face certain things about yourself - to be a hyena I had to accept that I could be both a coward and a bully. Those aren't good things. But you should know who you really are.

It even talks about this in HDM - that there are people who want to be lions who end up as poodles, and they have to learn to be happy with that. We don't settle as what we like, we settle as what we are.

I think it would be classified as a small mammal, but remember that the 'small mammal' category can range from paranoid, productive, organised, family-orientated rabbit to procrastinating, arrogant, daydreamy, solitary marten. If you got that from a general analysis I would be wary, as they are old and currently being updated (verrryyy slowly, I am guilty of not finishing the mephitidae one yet >.>).
