Hunter: Just search in google: Red white and blue western saddle pads. I personally like leather tack, like bridles, breastcollars and such. I dunno, just something about nylon that I don't like.

On another note, in bits I use a 3 piece jointed roller bit with Queso. The mouthpiece looks like this, but the shanks are S shanks. I know who made it but my brain wont work and I can't think of the guys name. Ugh. He was at the NHSFR. He was selling it for like, $70, but its a really nice bit.

Mouthpiece:

Shank looks somewhat like this:

Although the reason I need to use such a bit (aside from a snaffle, curb or spade) is because he happens to have the woah problem (the problem where he wouldn't stop if he ran into a wall).

I think those old bits with the big conchos on the sides are so cool. I got the pleasure to take a look at one first hand. A guy was trying to trade it and I was going to get it buy my dad wouldn't let me. it was super cool though, and it really wasn't as heavy as some bits I have.

They look kind of like this, but most of them have 3-4 inch conchos, instead of these small ones:

Crypt: Hopefully he is. That guy is amazing. What are you gonna do with him, hes a little old to do too much. Good for you for getting him though! He has a good home! :) I've never swam with my horse, before. One thing I really want to do. We've waded into a lake with me leading him, but I've never swam with a horse. I take that back, when we move cows we sometimes have to cross a river where we have to swim for 2 or 3 feet, but thats it, and that is to get a job done, not for fun.

Hey guys. Bothersome ol' me dropping in here like I do. xD.

I'm starting to wonder what to do. I'm kind of torn between two horses. As you all know Bam Bam is my lovely boy, but the thing is, me and Apache have started to work better, connect more, the whole mushy stuff that me and Bam are in now.

I don't know really who to ride, like for most of my lessons. When I can, I always pick my Bambi, but then again I feel bad for Patchy.

Bam Bam; I'm sure gets ridden by loads of people, but the thing is he gets ridden by little kids; makes him unresponsive to the mouth and legs, almost a deadbeat until I get him working again. I know all of his tricks, and can sit his spazzy bucks.

Apache; her owner practically abandoned her for a social life, so she is technically my instructor's horse. Does get ridden by more experienced people, sometimes, but a lot of little kids ride her. Holds their hands way up in the air, kick her repeatedly. She used to be a sweetheart, so good. Now, doesn't move out when posting, takes longer to turn sharply if doing poles/bending excersices, unless I really give her firm aids, and use my legs, bites when tighening the cinch, which I think the little kids let her do. x.x
Don't know all of her tricks, her buttons, and I have to try harder to keep my seat, which is always good for my legs/back/all around position.

I know this probably makes no sense, but who do you think I should turn to?

Go with Apache. A more difficult horse is good to ride, because it helps you advance.

You could go every other lesson. Maybe you could talk to your instructor about helping sort out each of the horse's problems, such as Bam Bam's bucks and probs from kids, and Apatche's biting and probs from kids, then you could maybe make a date so you ride one in the lessons and ride the other at different times (maybe after your lesson or something.)

I think maybe I could one week, or two weeks. Take Apache for a few lessons one week, or two, then Bam Bam the next, or if my instructor puts me on a different horse.
Since I use spurs on Bam Bam, Apache is generally good for my leg use too, since I don't have those constant aids with me on her.

Where I am and where I board Doc, it's very moist and wet....I can buy this stuff for thrush (to use as a preventitive, as he doesn't not have it) but then I was told I can also make my own stuff to prevent it. Same with fly spray, since most of the kinds you buy don't work.
Anyone have suggestions on the best things to make fly spray and that thrush stuff with?

We don't really have a thrush problem here, but we do have flys. I've found that the Manna Pro flyspray works great. It's not that epensive either. For recipes just search "horse thrush prevention recipes " in google. Or horse flyspray recipes, I have a book of flyspray recipes that I printed from the internet when I was younger, but I don't have a clue where its at lol.

Oh, also about horse treats, I just thought of one I used to make:

I would get the insides out of an apple, so it ended up like a bowl, then chop up the pieces of apple I took out, chop up some carrots, and get some molasses. I would put the carrots in, then apples, then some molasses on top, and then I would add some sweet feed on top of that. They loved it but it gets really messy because of the molasses. And it was quite a treat, I only gave it to them on Christmas because of how much was there.
