( >.< Double posting again )

What are some treats that I can to horses besides apples, carrots, and mints? Doc comes this evening, and we want him to learn that I'm his owner and give him some treats so he feels at home and safe. I have mints, and they sell carrots and apples at the barn, but what are some different things I can give him?? His old owners (wow, it feels weird to say that....still has yet to resister in my brain that he's now my horse) said he likes animals crackers, and that they've given him some candy like Twizzlers and stuff......

i used to give my mini potato chips, i know some people who would give their horses plain donuts, sugar cookies and mini pretzels. lol
no wonder he was such a fat little pony. x3

hunter: i tried searching doc's snappy dancer on youtube but it came up with un-horse related stuff x/

rain: cool! i have to say i'm jelly of your boots, they're so pretty and they look comfy.

Lol.
Do you think soda would hurt them? When I first started riding, they gave a donkey some soda...TC loved soda....cute little donkey was always on a clydes blind side, and was like her see-eye friend....lol, he would lead around horses too if you him the lead rope. Such an awesome little guy....
I also knew a horse that ate chicken. :/ She was bazzar and not very bright....thought she could walk through trees. Silly little pony...
What about skittles? I've heard of people giving their horses skittles, but I don't want him to colic on his first day...that would be depressing.

I used to give Missy ice pops...the ones you get in those long tubes and freeze. She would always get the funniest expression....lol

And I have to get these boots  http://www.chicksaddlery.com/page/CDS/PROD/9943/RB5002
Lol, even though they'll get filthy within two-three days.

5 hours and 66 minutes until he comes!

i don't know, i'd probably stay away from soda since it makes gas bubbles in their stomach, which might just make him really gassy or it could make him colic, plus it makes bones weaker. this guy also gave my mini coffee xD he would lick it out of your hand, plus he also ate these small pears that fell off the tree by the pasture fence.

if you want i can look up horse treat recipes. c:

haha, i'm almost as excited as you. its the final countdown! XD
i swear on my last breath that i will call the people who own Tex, the red roan paint gelding in Saugerties, NY. i want to try him out so badly, he sounds like he'd be awesome for barrels!

i don't mind having to work with him to teach him things for the show, i just don't see the point of training my barn's horses that i'll be using for one season then level up to a more advanced horse. then the horse i spent all that time training will just be a waste of time. :/ working with my own horse would be better since i wouldn't have to re-teach him what i taught the other horse before him plus the more advanced riding stuff. ya know?

Cut myself out of this one. xD. Ignore my hands. The people sitting at the fence were scary, so I'm trying to push her over.

At the end of the second preformance we got to gallop around the arena when our names were called, so this is us, showing how cowgirls gallop.

Very pretty headstall and horse! One tip: It looks like your curb is quite loose, it might just be the pictures, but it looks very loose. If it is that loose you probably want to tighten it or get a smaller one. Otherwise, looks great!!

All of the curbstraps are like that at my barn. xD.
I donno why. Some of them are chains, though some are tighter, just not her's.

Thats odd. It being loose could get caught in her mouth or she could get a foot through it. thats very odd that your barn has almost all loose. Usually you want to only be able to fit 2 fingers between it and the horse's chin. For more leverage, looser, for less leverage tighter.
