Personality:
Cortez is a very interesting character, he was born with three very distinct personalities that manifest under certain triggers which have as of yet not been discovered. His main and dominant personality is Cortez, and he maintains control at all times, however his two other personalities, Dante and Romeo, are often heard as side voices in his head, and have been known to actually control his mind at times. Though this never happens for very long since Cortez has the strongest hold. Still, the other two are constant presences in his mind, and often influence his decisions, actions, and choices.
Cortez:
Generally calm and assertive he's a hard worker who'd lay down his life for his friends. He has an incredible protectiveness towards his mother, knowing what she went through with his father and old herd, anyone who wants to get to her will have to gain his approval first. He also has a bit of a wild streak in him, it wouldn't be unheard of for him to suggest some absolutely insane plan for no reason other than to "try it". He's definitely not your typical Equid. He also is a hopeless romantic, his search for love could be compared to Romeo, minus the swiftness since he's more into long winded courtships, yet even Cortez in all his romantc yearnings can't actually compare to his 'Romeo' personality.
Dante:
Dante is without a doubt the "bad boy" of Cortez' psyche. He's into doing whatever will cause the most disruption and chaos among others. That being said he is very conscious of the other equids around him, so most of his mischief is directed towards pranks induced on other wildlife. This is all done in secret though, since Dante's true aspiration is to become herd leader. He has the charisma and ambition for it, but whether he has the tenacity, wisdom, and strength is debatable.
Romeo:
He lives up fully to his name, a mare's stallion he loves nothing more than to frolic among the fields with beautiful females and serenade them with poetry and flowery words. Whenever Cortez finds himself unusually attracted to a mare he tends to call on Romeo for advice, and the stallion certainly does enjoy doling it out. Initially he may seem a little bit shallow, but truthfully there is a lot of depth to him, and his true desires and longings have not even been revealed to Cortez, leaving him as something of a mystery.
