But, but, but..

I can understand that. I kind of did the same thing. I had my week or two of creative idea after creative idea and posted them only to have them last a week.. Maybe two if I was lucky. So I gave up and started posting those "Okay. You're here. Do what you wish, interact how you wish, I'm just here to play a character I've been dying to play." type RPs. It's kind of depressing.. D:

Favorite type of RP:
Romance.

Sample of writing:
Audrey knew this was seriously stupid. But doing stupid things was what she did for a living. Like drinking and driving or something along those lines that she did every night. Isn't that what New Yorkers do? Take chances. She needed an island getaway, so what's better than winning a free vacation? Nothing. Now she wasn't so sure as she waited in line to board her plane to California. It wasn't like her to be unsure of things, but here she was, thinking this was a bad idea and that she should just go home to her nice, empty apartment and go find a local bar or party to hang out at.
"Of course it isn't a bad idea. Shut up, Aud." She reassured herself loudly, causing the person in front of her to glance behind his shoulder in question. She smiled apologetically and looked down, pretending to search for something in her purse. Now she looked like a paranoid, crazy person. What a wonderful way to start out her break, right? Audrey sighed, following the crowd inside the plane. The ticket had been First Class, which was even better. Audrey Rose had never riden Second Class. She slipped into her seat, resting her purse on the floor and hoping no one had the seat next to her. It was awkward when that happened. It was a bit before take off, so Audrey worked on redoing her makeup, making sure it was perfect. Not that it even mattered. This was a plane, no one really cared exept for her. Her looks were everything, no matter where she was.

I think we really need to find some way of making roleplays last longer. It seems like its a growing trend to see roleplays get to the character intros and then die. Its really annoying to people who spend a lot of time making a great character, and even more annoying to the people who put so much time into creating their roleplays.I really want to find a solution to it, but I have no idea where the problem comes from. I know a lot of it is laziness and no muse or whatever, but if you really put in a bunch of time on your character, you should have enough muse to last until the plot gets going.

The things I've held sacred that I've dropped
I won't lie no more you can bet
I don't want to learn what I'll need to forget

I like throwing my voice and breaking guitars
Cause it doesn't remind me of anything
I like playing in the sand what's mine is ours
If it doesn't remind me of anything

A lot of players lack commitment. They flit in and flit out again like a fantail.
I think if you really want a good, deep roleplay you need to have a private one with friends who you can harass to post. xD

Us RP owners need to add spice to the curry, sugar to the coffee, chocolate sauce to the banana split! Bears that attack camp, a sudden probelm with a sickness, changing home... Things like that make it last longer and have consequences after.
At least I think.
But I agree, friends you can harass are always good if needed.

I've mentally blacklisted someone from all my future rps because of their behavior of never posting unless I PM them too. c:
So if they apply to my RPs they will be getting a swift, but polite, "no."
I'll probably start doing this to people that leave me hanging from now on. Work up a mental three strikes in my head. xD
It's my rp and I can deny who I want. BI

I think the key to a good RPG is a good group of people. In the most successful RPG I was ever in (6000 posts), I was part of an awesome group. We had similar interests and often talked OOC. We all started RPing at 9pm and ended at 2-3am each day. Then, to prevent Writer's Block, we all ended taking turns throwing in ideas. I would be like "Hey, let's kill off this character" and the someone would be like "Alien attack!" or "Surprise marriage!". It kept things going and we wanted it to keep going.

It has been a year since that RPG eventually died. We still talk and we even brought the RPG back for awhile. So, I think to keep RPGs alive for longer we need to interact as people a little more and strive to make good groups of RPers.
SMILE!

Would anyone be interested in a wild rabbit/Warren RP ??
I've read the Watership Down books and all, but I dont think I'd base it after that. I just never got that into them...

Shadows all around you as you surface from the dark
Emerging from the gentle grip of night's unfolding arms
Darkness, darkness everywhere, do you feel all alone?
The subtle grace of gravity, the heavy weight of stone

-----------------
you are the moon
-----------------
You don't see what you possess, a beauty calm and clear
It floods the sky and blurs the darkness like a chandelier
All the light that you possess is skewed by lakes and seas
The shattered surface, so imperfect, is all that you believe

Alas, I've only seen a bit of some episodes. >>; Anyways, we should plot an angel rp, then. <3 Though, it seems like angel/demon/human wars is a very popular theme in them. >_< I'd like to come with with something marvelously different~

Yeah, we need a fresh twist! I think just demons/angels would be good, because they can travel in a snap, unlike humans. We also need a plot that instantly puts all the characters together so there's not just intros then no one knows what to do. I've been thinking of doing a roleplay where the "admins" help move the plot along by posting events that are happening and control some NPCs to keep the action up.

Maybe the demons have taken control of Earth, so angels are sent to save as many people as they can. Little do they know, its a trap and they are stuck on Earth, unable to "teleport" back to Heaven. So they have to kill whoever's in charge (aka Satan) to get back home. We could incorporate humans by having the angel's round up a bunch of them to take back, and the humans have to help kill the demons. (using the ways to kill demons from SPN haha) But there can be epic plot if a human or group of humans deals with the demons and turn against the angels. >:)

THAT WOULD BE HOT. Yes, NPCs sound like an awesome idea. Always need them to godmode a bit and urge the plot on. xD And that would be an epic plot twist. <3 And finally, the humans wouldn't be completely useless!
I'm back. :^)
