What if Muse was the lost princess of some kingdom, and she was kidnapped, so authors and artists everywhere aren't able to find inspiration for anything? That would be so epic! I'd totally join!

Only, only, a few select people- maybe one sculptor, one author, one painter, and so on- are chosen to find Muse, and are each given... I don't know, some artifact, something that keeps them inspired as long as they have it with them.
I might write a story about this, actually... *giggles and is now inspired*

So every character would be a different kind of artist?
but how would the totem (I'm just going to call it that for now) keep them inspired if Muse herself is kidnapped and the whole point is to find her?

Maybe it has to be on you at all times, and if you give it to someone else, the Muse Piece escapes from the totem and you can't get it back? That would stop them from giving everybody a bit of Muse, and maybe they've been pulled into a different realm, and they can only go back to the "real world" after they find the Princess? This could be because Muse is the only one who can open the gate to the other world, but she's missing? I don't know. So many ideas!
