she looks like a girl version of sephiroth.

sephiroth ----> lightning = initial thought.
that wasn't supposed to sound offensive btw.

Alexander I swear you are the only person posting human art on this thread so far.
Is it weird that when i saw Azul posting humans I got really excited?

Anyways, well, nobody wanted to help me with fabric so hear *edit:here is my sketch design as it stands.
haven't even finished designing... not even close to done OTL.

I'm not really the best at humans, so I won't do a redline here, but I notice that her arm is a bit too thick on top. Rather than having a straight line from the shoulder into the elbow, it should dip a bit in there. x)
Her head is also a bit too large, or her shoulders too small. You should be able to fit a head on either shoulder.

@ Atomic Blue - If you want the clothing to look more flowy, curve the lines a bit more in the direction you want them to go. In this case, curve them a bit more to the right. It also depends on how thick the fabric is. Seeing as it looks thin, you would want to make it more curvy to give it a flow-like appearence.

I remember reading that from a manga tutorial website.

There's nothing wrong with using refs! It's the best way to learn anatomy. But you need to know the difference between copying and referencing. It helps if you memorize and take notes on why things look like what they do in creatures, and patterns there tend to be. A helpful one I keep in mind is the curves in legs. Blahh I just realized I'm babbling pointlessly xD mkay I'll stop and say something helpful.
If it's a hyena, I suggest you also made the top of the neck thicker, as hyena's necks kind of hunch. Looks awesome though, I can't get over dem pawss <33

Thanks<3

And yeah. M first time drawing this pose :p

I never used a ref before. Only because I have watched dogs all my life and the first time I rew one it could be very resembled. I guess after a while my ego grew, and the more I studied dogs in person(mine) or other animals, I sort of got better.

But I still suck at realistic.
/will look in refrences XD /

This is a commision for Mc Shizzle, but I'm not done.
Its my first time showing you guys my work, and I'm kinda excited, but I feel weird 'cause you guys are so good and me?well...not so much.
Its supposed to be a jackal, but I need help with anatomy, espicially paws(I didn't try very hard on them, cause I got frustrated).
Redlines and critique would be highly appreciated.

@Susiron AOK. I give you a thousand thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately the comp has been taken from me and I can't show what I fixed. But I felt compelled to reply. I made her head smaller and shrunk the length of the body in general to fit the 7-8 head rule, as well as the 3 head rule with the shoulders. Thank you for the reminders. <3

@Painted I will definitely give that a try. Yes it is supposed to be thin. I wanted it to be flowing but not have a cliche flag ripple appearance, and still wanted it to have the lace at the end. I have little idea on how to properly achieve that without making it look like squiggly lines. QQ

@Beanie The bottom cloth is in sections. The longer bits are over a short 1 piece layered skirt thing, which is sketched in a different colour so that my brain doesn't explode.

All in all I really appreciate the help, guys.

Atomic Blue, I can try to give you a redline tomorrow-ish. I think Alex White has done all I really can, however.

I tend to draw my women a bit chunkier so if I redlined her she'd likely gain a few pounds, haha. I can't help it, I really like chunkier women.

On that note - my birthday gift to myself was a subscription to http://www.female-anatomy-for-artist.com/ . I'm willing to share the login info with a few other people if they want.
