I can't stand American Dubs of anime, escpially Soul Eater, Soul's the only one that sounds like a guy ._. Kids and Black*Star both sound like girls :3 It's funny but I didn't get very far trying to watch it in english to much difference in what they say....

Black*Star is Japanese in origin. Since Shibusen, or the DWMA, is in the Nevada desert, everyone has either English or Japanese names.
Braku*Staru is basically a Japanese accent for Black*Star. Soru, Kiddo, Rizu, they have the u sound at the end. And some Japanese words also sound close to English, I think like Kid's.
