My mom is heavily against me reading them because she doesn't like them.I did start the first book however and I was part of this club about Harry Potter once, but the club died and I never finished the first book because it was extremely slow paced and boring compared to some of the other books I had been reading. I was always going to give it a second try, I just never got around to it. xD And now I've been reading books about people who have mental disablities and physical disorders (I guess that's what you could call them...things like Cancer and stuff...don't know what to classify those as
) so they just haven't been on my high priority list lately. I'll get around to them eventually...like this summer or something...When I'm reading like 3 books a day because I have nothing better to do. xD
I highly suggest you give Harry Potter another go-round, when you get the chance... I know it's not for everyone, but those books are some of my absolute favorites!
If you're interested in books about disorders and stuff, I suggest Mockingbird (a very good book about a girl with asperger's syndrome), or The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (a very good book about a boy, also with asperger's syndrome). Although, I must warn you, if you read the latter, you'll have the ending to The Hounds of the Baskervilles spoiled for you. x( Guess I'm never reading that book... (and I was planning to, too!)
edit: I just looked it up, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime isn't actually specifically about Asperger's- it's not that precise. Just know that it's a sort of autism. xD Anymawho, it's a great read.
Hm....Maybe I'll try them out.
